That sounds like it took alot of patience
(and bread too) haha
Not a lot of bread, really. And it didn't take long for the fish to come for it. You almost didn't have to use bread at all. Just stand still and be ready. lol

I don't understand why you have to leave....will miss you.

I use Vivaldi as my browser....no tracking.

Sometimes one gets to know people on forums and then they are gone....and they are missed.

Well not yet! Will miss you (and others here) too. It is still a long way off. And its not so much the browser, you pretty much have your choice of those. I dont want this Microsoft account when I might need to upgrade to Windows 11 (for example). I just have an issue with doing this. I heard they are going to force it (whether that way or this other way) so that you will not be able to connect your laptop (as it would be in my case) online without this account with them (first). All the while ceasing support for Windows 10. Which they will be extending support for (for an enticingly small fee) if it can impose an account on you (this way) with them for doing just this. I just despise that. If I can get around having an account with them (like learning this Linux) I now have installed on another laptop, I'll be home free, but I find it so incredibly boring and tedious.

I hear you though, I cant tell you how many people I missed that were banned from various forums over the years, it stinks.

On my next trip to Savanah from Birmingham
I always think Savannah must be a beautiful city. Am I right? Old interesting architecture and maybe old fountains? I love fountains, old architecture, too.

Is this a real thing? I can't find anything on the site that explains what the program involves. lol
As far as I know it is, and these folks (at www.rentthechicken.com) are not the only game in town apparently (one of our local news stations did a feature on renting chickens too, just a few days ago).

BTW, I'm not sure why the URL that I pasted into my last post had a "ww." instead of a "www." at the beginning of the URL, but the one in this post should be correct and work (also, I went back in and edited my first post to include the 3rd "w" in the URL, so it should be working now too :gd).

--Papa Smurf
p.s. - here's an excerpt from their home page.

Why "Rent The Chicken"? We provide all of the supplies you need to get started: portable chicken coop, two to four egg laying hens, 100-200 pounds of feed (optional non-GMO or Organic feed available), food & water dishes, a chicken keeping book as well as instructions on how to keep your chickens happy! Within two days of the arrival, your chickens will lay eggs ready to use! These eggs have 1/3 less cholesterol, 1/4 less saturated fats, and 2 times more omega 3 fatty acids than store bought eggs. Your Rent The Chickens should lay about a dozen to two dozen eggs per week depending on your Rental Package. You will know exactly what your chickens eat!
How does it work? You place your reservation either through our website or over the phone. We schedule a date to bring to your home a portable coop, two to four chickens that are already laying eggs, and the supplies needed to get you started for your rental period. Chickens produce the most eggs when daylight is at peak. Towards the end of the Rental Period, if you realize that you were born to raise backyard chickens, adopting the chickens and all of their supplies is an option! Otherwise, we will schedule a date towards the end of your Rental to stop by and pick up the rented chickens, coop and supplies. As soon as the start of the Rental Period comes back around, we schedule a time to bring your chickens back to you and provide you with another season of rental.

Of course. And do you think Trump will put a stop to this with his million and one executive orders? We'll see.

I dont know the extent of what is left in the sense of how many birds the U.S has need of verses how many are left alive that can sufficiently lay eggs, because each bird can only lay so many eggs. There is a cap to how many we might have available and how many eggs each one can lay right? I have no ideas concerning the numbers part of things. But if too many would be killed off that would naturally give us less producers of eggs (while producing more consumers of eggs because of the squeeze through the higher price of meats). I would think if it were ever bad enough (manufactured, or not) that it would take about a year or so to get whatever number of chickens left which are egg layers (for our consumption) to be held back for a time for hatching (just to begin multiplying them again first) and give time enough for their maturity to begin laying again, without these massive manufactured killings of birds for what has become obvious to most is an evil agenda.

Who would be in charge of this?

Edit typo

If we had a legit godly government, they'd stop the mRNA vaccines, and the mass killing of farm animals (cattle, chickens, turkeys, pigs, etc) and leave the farmers alone to breed and increase their flocks (etc). That would switch the economy around big time toward supporting the people (farms, backyard flocks, etc).

Have you heard anything on how this is going?

The better way to handle the cuts would be to wean back the support and lift the tax burden on farms. Doing this suddenly will have severe repercussions. I never liked the idea of farms getting government funding .... because I don't trust the government. I don't want the government telling me what I can and can't do on my farm.

If anyone is interested, here's a useful and interesting video on 200+ chicken breeds ranked by number of eggs they lay per year. It tells where they're from as well.

I guess they kill the chickens because they think the bird flu will spread to other birds.
Bird flu has been around forever. All you have to do is quarantine the bird till it is over the bird flu. If it gets worse, you "cull" the bird that is sick ...not the entire flock. The rest of the flock that hasn't gotten sick has a good immune system and has fought it off.

Are you saying only Democrats eat eggs?? I know you aren't serious, right?
No, not at all. It only has to do with egg prices.
DJT promised that prices would come down. So, rising egg prices are used against him.
