Agreed. Yet, the Immortal Soul crowd cannot afford to give up what they consider this passage to be: "proof" that when we die, we go on living, the very sound of which is ridiculous. Death is the OPPOSITE of life, not the continuation thereof.

No it isn't. It's an "energy source" the same way God is the "life source". Scripture repeatedly describes God's "Breath of Life" as His "life-giving principle" which animates the inanimate.
