Addressing the OP. Good Topic,
translation come and they go. but the Holy Ghost, is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. please understand what I'm about to say. Listen closely, "I thank God for theses new bible translation"... WHY? because I can compare them to the word of God and see the ERRORS of their translation. NOW, who did I thank? ... "GOD", always put God first, and everything else is under your feet. IMPORTANT, always READ with the Holy Ghost in Lead.
see when one compare a translation to the KJV, (which I prefer), then one can understand the thinking of the translators, and form a defense against it... example, the CREATION ACCOUNT.
New Living Translation
John 1:3 "God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him". see how they word it,
NOW, this,
New Living Translation
Isaiah 44:24 "This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer and Creator: “I am the LORD, who made all things. I alone stretched out the heavens. Who was with me when I made the earth?"
see how easy it is to catch a lie? in John 1:3 they say God created everything .. "through" .. through him, correct. but in Isaiah 44:24 they said that he was "ALONE" stretching out the heavens, and when he made the earth, and then on top of that they said, "Who was with me". a straight contradiction of what they said in John 1:3. well if no one was "WITH" him, why LIE in John 1:3 by saying he went "THROUGHT" someone else? see what I mean. when you tell a lie over here you better cover it up over there, because if not, you will be exposed. this is why I said, "Thank God for these new translations", because God exposes these new translations, again, who do I thank? ... GOD. for he exposes these false lying translation day after day.
but the NASB really kills the "THROUGH" mistake, listen,
NASB 1995
John 1:3 "All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being".
NOW this,
NASB 1995
Isaiah 44:24 "Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, and the one who formed you from the womb, "I, the LORD, am the maker of all things, Stretching out the heavens by Myself And spreading out the earth all alone".
here, the NASB 1995 say the LORD was "ALL", not just alone, but "ALL" alone, making it clear that there was no one else. but again in John 1:3 "All things came into being through Him". see how they lie? but in Isaiah 44:24 he was ..... "ALL" alone...
see I use theses new translation, to find errors, which shows I'm on the right track with the KJV. it's like reading a map, if God say Go north, how would you know which way is North unless you have a south to go by.. just as in the KNOWLEDGE of Good and evil. how would you know Good if you didn't have a understanding of evil to compare it to? yes that tree in the beginning is something else. just as evil has it's place in God's economy, likewise these new translation. and remember, Evil is not sin, but evil, and these new translation is just that, a translation. as the bible states,
Isaiah 7:15 "Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good."
Amos 5:15 "Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph."
Romans 12:9 "Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good."
Psalms 97:10 "Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked." I can say amen to that all day.
so, Proverbs 4:7 says it all. "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding."
as our brother James states,
for ye have not because ye ask not. but ask in Faith, and not amiss.
