What is it about his believing about the Sabbath that makes him a humanist? I thought that humanism is all about self-improvement. I don't see that in his post.

I think humanism does indeed reflect self improvement, but a worldview of making oneself your own authority must be internet in self improvement. You do the improving... The power comes from within you... The goals and intents are your own. You are your own god. Now in the matter of choosing between Sunday and the true Sabbath, the scriptures are very clear. From creation to the new heavens and new Earth the Sabbath is writ across the pages of scripture without let or hindrance. Residing in the heart of God's spoken law, nestled within the tables of the covenant, observed by the Savior and His followers, the Sabbath can only be denied by overruling the authority of scripture and making up your own rules as to it's relevance. Many conflicting reasons are offered in the defense of Sunday... Rest in Jesus... Any day for worship... Obedience being legalism... The list goes on, and not one of them supported by a "thus saith the Lord" in it's defense. Hence, humanism.

OK, last call it's education time. DAY and NIGHT. scripture, Genesis 1:5 "And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day". when one read this verse it seem or can be taken as oh! that one whole day, day and night, because it said, "evening and the morning were the first day". that's what one would say is they was fooled by the devil. but lets walk in the LIGHT." as I said before the EVENING and the MORNING are the separation of the days. notice the "s" at the end of days. now think, if one didn't have the NIGHT to separate the Day(s), one would have a continuous "DAY" never ending. the evening and the Morning meaning NIGHT DIVIDE the D A Y S from each other, else without NIGHT you will never have the next day, meaning 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7th. so the NIGHT is not a DAY, it only seperates the DAY(S).

NOW the Hebrew is clear as day on this. if someone tell you differently then they are lying to you.

just remember what the Lord Jesus said, there are 12 hours in a "DAY".

There's no denying that working six days and resting on the seventh is one of the Ten Commandments, equal footing to not committing adultery, not stealing, lying, murdering, coveting, blaspheming, and honouring our parents.

I thought about this, and am sure that it doesn't mean exactly on a Saturday. It means that we work six days a week and rest on the seventh. Now, our labels for the days of the week come from observance to pagan gods. Monday stands for worship of the moon, I don't know what Tuesday is, Wednesday is observance of the god Woden, Thursday is for Thor, I don't know what Friday is, Saturday is worship of the god Saturn, Sunday is worship of the sun.

The Jews didn't have those labels. They had the first day of the week through to the seventh day. They worked six days and rested on the seventh. The principle behind the Commandment is that we have one day for rest after six days working. Jesus said that the Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. There is nowhere in the Commandment that specifically says "Saturday", because God would not use a pagan label anyway. So we have to look a little deeper and see why God included that Commandment.

It was because in the pagan world, including Egypt, people worked seven days a week, especially slaves, and they were often worked to death because of burnout. Having people work six days and resting on the seventh, gives a healthy work life balance and helps people "recharge their batteries". That is why the Commandment is there.

If we are going to legalistically require people to make Saturday their day of rest and no other, otherwise they will go to hell, then we are making man for the Sabbath, contrary to what Jesus said. It would mean that every shift worker who is required to work Saturday and Sunday and take another day of the week as their day of rest, will go to hell

It reminds me of the requirement of one religious organisation that their members not eat meat on Fridays otherwise they will go to hell. When the doctrine was abolished in the late 1960s, a newspaper cartoonist drew a picture of a demon asking the devil about what to do with all those who ate meat on Fridays!

It is the same with those who legalistic say that the Sabbath for the Christ has to be Sunday or else!

If you don't turn from your sinful lifestyle to demonstrate that you are trusting the grace and mercy of God through your faith in Christ, then you are showing that you are a hypocrite - professing that you have been transformed by the Spirit of God in a genuine conversion, when no such transformation has taken place. Paul asked, "Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? God forbid! How can we continue in sin when we are dead to it?"
