Jesus as the Creator made the Sabbath for man, and who was there, Adam. And he was not Jewish. We are all given the Sabbath by the Creator as a gift from the very beginning. .

Although God's rest on the seventh day (Genesis 2:3) did foreshadow a future Sabbath law, there is no Biblical record of the Sabbath before the children of Israel left the land of Egypt. Nowhere in Scripture is there any hint that Sabbath keeping was practiced from Adam to Moses. The word "Sabbath" first appears in Exodus 16:23 - Then he said to them, “This is what the Lord has said: ‘Tomorrow is a Sabbath rest, a holy Sabbath to the Lord. Bake what you will bake today, and boil what you will boil; and lay up for yourselves all that remains, to be kept until morning.
Look at Deuteronomy 5:1-15 which gives the commandments to Israel. 2 The Lord our God made a covenant with us in Horeb. 3 The Lord did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, those who are here today, all of us who are alive.
Nehemiah 9:13 - “Then You came down on Mount Sinai, And spoke with them from heaven; You gave them just ordinances and true laws, Good statutes and commandments. 14 “So You made known to them Your holy sabbath, And laid down for them commandments, statutes and law, Through Your servant Moses.
The Word of God makes it clear that Sabbath observance was a sign between God and Israel: “The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he abstained from work and rested.” (Exodus 31:16-17)
In Deuteronomy 5, Moses restates the Ten Commandments to the next generation of Israelites. Here, after commanding Sabbath observance in verses 12–14, Moses gives the reason the Sabbath was given to the nation Israel: “Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.” (Deuteronomy 5:15)

The 7th day has not ended, we are living in it now. The days are a period of time and not 24 hours as most people think. When a particular day was ended God saw that it was Good. We do not read that about the seventh day. As we are living in the seventh day, we need to worship him continually until the time we see Jesus face to face, and then we shall worship in His presence for evermore.

that's carnal thinking. lets see the true meaning of creation. John 14:10 "Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works". (this scripture here is Loaded with truths).
and if the same "Spirit" be in you, that is in Christ Jesus, then you have "REST" from your works, or Labor. it's the Spirit that do the work, and not us. for if ye just "believe", that's our works, is to believe. as another poster in another topic asked, "can we do anything without God?". NO, but believe on him, for he doeth the works.
just as the apostles James and Paul agree "FAITH" without works is DEAD, for one cannot work to be save, but work because he or she is "SAVE", for it is not you who do the work, (when saved), but the same "Spirit" that is in the Lord Jesus, is the same Spirit that's in you who do the works. why? because you're saved, (having the Holy Spirit in you). and that salvation is given with the deposit of the "Spirit", (the Holy Spirit), who does the work.
as for worship? for we must worship the Lord Jesus/God in spirit and in Truth, John 4:24
so "works" is just a foreshadow of your freedom to come from your works or labor in "YOUR" sins. for worship is everyday by not sinning aganist God, why and How? because of "belief". Romans 10:10 "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation". so those "SAVED" worship everyday, how? answer by the life they lead. Romans 8:1 "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit". the term walk here is to live a life, either for God, or for the world. if one walk with God then one is at rest and in fellowship with God. and living/walk do not occure only on what one calls "sunday" or "saturday". but we live ........ "EVERYDAY". BINGO.

The Sabbath is basically the weekend literally lol but preferably Sunday. Jesus said we were to do good on the Sabbath. But it wasn't required. I mean unless it was actually required to. Like he meant it was better to do good then evil for instance the dentist office doesn't open on Sunday but if someone tooth was hurting badly and needed it checked they would probably go to a friend or read online how to stop the pain from hurting by taking that good advice and if it helped then it was a good thing but I know the hospital probably also don't have surgeons around on the weekend either so if you cut your leg or something outside on a Sunday and the blood became unbearable and found yourself just laying there I'm sure Jesus would smile if your neighbor saw you or something and decided to help instead of walking off and ignoring ya. Etc. And I think it's better to save someone on the weekend then murder a person...also etc... But you get it. Jesus said we should keep the Sabbath day holy any anything opposite of that would be consider offensive especially on Sunday where people are in church and stuff and it's considered the Lord's day..but it's not required unless something really actually happened..but people do evil deeds every day so it really don't much matter...anymore..I think what matters now is what in persons heart and the motives of it.. because everything truly had changed.....but if you wanna do good on the Sabbath, then do so...but we should try to do the right things everyday....

No. Sorry. I don't. But it is said Jesus was crucified on Friday so I believe Jesus was ressurected on Sunday or monday. But if he died on friday, you also have to think about the time he died and how many hours he was on the cross before dying. But the bible said he rose in 3 days so you do the math :) ..however if he did rise on Sunday then that would make it his day, The Lord's day. Think about it. Doesn't that make sense? And why Sunday is a holy day because Jesus rose in a new body and went up to heaven back to his father God. Remember also Mary had perfume. That must have been some kinda perfume bottle that signified him of holiness...so if he really risen on Sunday then God made it a significant day by calling it The Lord's day which is the Sabbath day....the holy day
And just to think about it he probably was crucified or killed on Friday since we also actually have a day called "Good Friday" during the Easter and Lent holidays.. etc.

Do the math ... lol, (smile), ok., you win that one (on the math), ... no need to argue over that one, (smile). but on a serious note, that was three "days" and "NIGHTS", and one other thing, you do know that we're in a eight "day" covenant right?
last one, I will not take issue here with you, but remember this, never "assume" what someone says, but check it out in the scriptures to see if it's so, ok.

Correct. Jesus was crucified on the Friday while it was light and was put in the tomb. (That is day one.) When it got dark on the Friday, that was the beginning of Saturday. (The new day begins when it gets dark).
Nightfall on Saturday marks the new day of Sunday when He rose on the third day. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

I am amazed at how resistant folk are to remembering and keeping the 7th day Sabbath holy as instructed in the decalogue. The Commandment is unambiguous. They must not know the 7th day is God's seal? or do they know and thumb their nose at it?
There must have more respect for man who has attempted to change it to the 1st day than they do for God who asked us to remember ie, not forget the 7th day.
Exodus 20:8-11
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Ohhh, and regard to the seal embedded in the 4th Commandment.
A seal having these characteristics:-
1 The name of the person whose seal it is.....Lord God
2 Their title...............................................Creator
3 Their domain..........................................Heaven and Earth and all that is in them
Those that receive the God's seal referenced in Revelation 14:12 are those who keep the Commandments of God (not men's) and have the faith of Jesus.
Revelation 7:2-3 ...'And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.'
Revelation 14:12 ... 'Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus'.

Well man has a way of changing a lot of things but I truly believe God rested on the 7th day which was Sunday and not Saturday. And I believe Monday is the first day of the week. Lol
Well, i know that already of course because there are a lot of false teachings and false prophets out there who tries to change the Lord's word because what's already there don't fit thier ears and liking ;)
Christ was crucified on Wednesday of that week, which allows for a full three days and three nights in the tomb (days beginning and ending at sunset). There was no "Good Friday" observed in the apostolic churches, and the Lord's Supper was observed every Lord's Day as a remembrance feast (1 Cor 11).

first thanks for the reply, second, giving you the benefit of the doubt, can you fill us in on how you got 3 days and 3 nights from the day you call Friday to the day you call Sunday?
I think I know where you're going, but I always like to give anyone the benefit of the doubt.

Seeing that I am retired, and that our country is in lockdown, every day has become a sabbath for me. Sometimes I lose track of what day of the week it is, so I am resting and being a couch potato every day of the week. That's what the sabbath rest is all about. Working six days and resting on the seventh.
Actually the actual Sabbath requirement is gone with the abolition of Judaism as the cutting edge of what God is doing. We now rest, through faith in Jesus as our Saviour and Lord, and if we decide to set one day apart for rest and worship, it actually doesn't matter what day of the week that might be.
