If only the virus would restrict itself to infecting just the stupid. ;)Yep. Remember, in high school , there was always someone who tried to get status, challenging others to do stupid things, by calling them "chicken?" Some things never change.
Democrats are twice more likely (61 percent) than Republicans (30 percent) to say they plan to stop attending large gatherings...There’s a similar Democrat-Republican divide over canceling travel plans ( 47-23 percent), a belief that daily life will change (56-26 percent), and worries that they or a family member might contract coronavirus (68-40 percent).
Think of it as nature culling the herd.

Just like a chest cold. A chest cold that killed about 2% of the Americans who got the virus.
yes. Of course the common cold, also a corona type virus, has killed far more people this year.....
When people think following medical advice is "hysterical", we've got a problem.
The key here is that an amount of social isolation isn't just good health for an individual. By slowing the progress of the epidemic, it becomes more manageable for everyone.
Flipping between denial and hysteria is what we're seeing from the the WH.
So far? Show us those numbers for the mortality rate or total deaths from a common cold. Incidentally, some forms of the common cold are in the group of coronaviruses. Others are not. Do you understand what the term means?
Just today I see stories of evangelical preachers holding services, encouraging congregants to shake hands, saying only "pansies" are taking precautions, archbishops continuing to conduct communion because "Christ doesn't spread germs", Fallwell Jr. keeping Liberty U. open....When people think following medical advice is "hysterical", we've got a problem.

corona viruses attack the lower respiratory system and sometimes the tissues of the kidneys. According to the CDC, corona viruses make up the majority of illnesses connected to the common cold - rhinoviruses (upper respiratory viruses) are another common cold virus
I am still looking for stats on the common cold - I ran across it last night, but can’t remember the number
