Who appreciates Christian hard rock?
Disciple's 'Radical' is very effective, I think.

In Christian terms it's the lyrics that count; the genre is I guess more subjective.I dont listen to alot of hard rock- so I am not sure how I view that genre as a whole x
I don't usually listen to hard rock. At one time I liked Dave Mustaine (if he counts) but I guess my taste has changed.
Thanks for your thoughtful post. When it comes to the actual music I suppose it is subjective. I ask myself what type of effect the music has on me. If it is joy and peace then I am comfortable matching the music with the lyrics.
Another thing we have to consider as a genre is if it is an attempt to be counterculture (in a negative way) or if it is a type of expression that witnesses God to the culture.
I, personally, do not have an opinion. It is not really my thing but just offering what I see are considerations.
Thanks for the comment!I would have to ask, like of any music, does it elevate Christ or self?
In Him, Not me
Thanks for the comment!
PS: Did you vote in the poll also? :)
Thanks; so I guess it wasn't covered, either, by "Not sure / rather not say"...Thanks, no I didn’t, couldn’t find the option that was right for my answer?
Be blessed as we pursue Him, Not me
Thanks; so I guess it wasn't covered, either, by "Not sure / rather not say"...
(Maybe I could amend the poll, also?)
Very nuanced and searching post; thank-you! :)The problem with not sure is I am sure. If it elevates self it’s of the flesh of it elevates Christ, the Spirit. Can I say all hard rock is bad, no. Can I say all hard rock in good, no. It depends on the source, Christ or self?
Those are my thoughts, be blessed, Not me
I haven't listened to it yet as Ray is in the room doing his modelling and the radio is on tuned to Country Hits.In Christian terms it's the lyrics that count; the genre is I guess more subjective.
As regards the track I uploaded, I guess that a lot of Christians would acknowledge at some level that the hard hitting Biblical lyrics that are communicated effectively, whether or not individuals would particularly like or dislike the genre. (If this makes sense?)
Me neither although I'm not sure where rock becomes hard rock.I dont listen to alot of hard rock- so I am not sure how I view that genre as a whole x
I think any genre can convey biblical truths. One of my favourites is Bob Dylan's 'Slow Train Coming' but it's not hard rock. Thanks for your comment.
I guess also the idea behind the thread was whether - beyond simple likes and dislikes (which are subjective) - ppl felt that they have learned to appreciate that hard rock style can certainly convey hard hitting Biblical lyrics effectively.
(As in the track I uploaded, which does indeed do so, in my humble opinion.)
