You believe that having the correct view about each of these is necessary for salvation?
Who here believes that the Athanasian Creed is God given and necessary for salvation?
Mormons believe that God WAS just a man and was exalted to godhood, which is completely false.YES!!! If God is just a man, it changes EVERYTHING the Scriptures teach!!
And this changes everything the Scriptures teach.Mormons believe that God WAS just a man and was exalted to godhood, which is completely false.
Yes, agree! Everything! And this changes everything the Scriptures teach.
Actually that’s completely inaccurate.Mormons believe that God WAS just a man and was exalted to godhood, which is completely false.
Actually that’s completely inaccurate.
Answer my question please. If we did, would it be any different than believin the Book of Mormon is God given and necessary for salvation?
Answer my question please.
Because I have no qualms with the Bible. There are major disagreements with the Athanasian Creed though.
As taught by thr LDS Church. Mormon theology teaches the *evolution* of God. Bizarre at best, heresy at worst.Jesus was not a mere man who became God.
There is not such official doctrinal LDS claim in that regardHow do you know? I asked and you said you didn't know if it were true, didn't know if you believed it, and didn't know if you believed it were possible!

Mormon Beliefs, are they Christian? | CARM.org
- God
- God used to be a man on another planet (Mormon Doctrine, p. 321; Joseph Smith, Times and Seasons, vol. 5, p. 613-614; Orson Pratt,Journal of Discourses, vol. 2, p. 345; Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, vol. 7, p. 333).
- "The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as mans . . . " (D&C 130:22).
- God, becoming a god
- After you become a good Mormon, you have the potential of becoming a god (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 345-347, 354).
- "Then shall they be gods, because they have no end; therefore shall they be from everlasting to everlasting, because they continue; then shall they be above all, because all things are subject unto them. Then shall they be gods, because they have all power, and the angels are subject unto them," (DC 132:20).
- God, many gods
- There are many gods (Mormon Doctrine, p. 163).
- "And they (the Gods) said: Let there be light: and there was light," (Book of Abraham 4:3).
- God, mother goddess
- There is a mother god (Articles of Faith, by James Talmage, p. 443).
- God is married to his goddess wife and has spirit children (Mormon Doctrine, p. 516).
- God, Trinity
- The trinity is three separate Gods: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. "That these three are separate individuals, physically distinct from each other, is demonstrated by the accepted records of divine dealings with man," (Articles of Faith, by James Talmage, p. 35).
LOL, I quoted the Bible. This is what God's word says. There is not such official doctrinal LDS claim in that regard
And as i’ve discussed, LDS Christians don’t believe that being born makes one a sinner bound for Helll, which is the understanding Prayer Warrior is bringing into this

For example: LDS Christians believe the Father, Son, and Spirit are three persons in ONE God via unity rather than a shared substance as stated in the Athanasian Creed. No quailms with the BibleI have no qualms with the Bible. But there are major disagreements with the Book of Mormon.
You are actually proving my point.

I don’t believe that either beliefs damns anyone. You seemingly do. Hence my question about whether or not the Athanasian Creed is essential for salvation.
In Mormon theology no one goes to hell. All non Mormons get a lesser place In their false eternal world. Thus, they would deny man born in sin because they do not know or believe biblical truth such as these things.LOL, I quoted the Bible. This is what God's word says.
Mormons believe that God WAS just a man and was exalted to godhood, which is completely false.

This is why I tell her, others she's being disingenuous. For these things, telling the facts, she claims I'm blind. Hmmmm. She claimed to me [you can read it for yourself; it's in this same thread] that she didn't know if this were true, didn't know if she believed it were true, and didn't know if she believed it were possible. Now she's claiming that, when we state it as fact, it is "completely inaccurate"
