By those with "ears to hear". Then comes the question if not furnished with them from the start, where does a person get such ears?amen, Word is always heard yeh?
I am presuming that the Bible is the final authority on any given subject; and that if therefore there is some kind of "extra revelation" that contradicts the Bible, that the Bible is correct and that extrabiblical revelation would be a lie.Aren't you presuming that the ONLY source of information from God is the book we call the Bible?
ah well i guess the very last place they ever wanna go, and never will experience as long as they have money. Bc the customer is always right, right? ha.By those with "ears to hear". Then comes the question if not furnished with them from the start, where does a person get such ears?
How many people who believe disagree with others who believe exactly the same thing in that regard? The final authority is NOT the written Bible, but God. God needs no one to interpret for Him when He speaks directly to us, but by even resorting to a written Bible we have already made an interpretation necessary.I am presuming that the Bible is the final authority on any given subject; and that if therefore there is some kind of "extra revelation" that contradicts the Bible, that the Bible is correct and that extrabiblical revelation would be a lie.
If it is alignment with what the Bible teaches, then it bears examining further.
That is what He said to the "Woman Caught in Adultery" (not the "Samaritan Woman at the Well"). What is interesting about that incident is that, under the Law of Moses, BOTH the man and the women were to be stoned. If only the woman had been stoned, it would not have been a legal execution. Unbelievers like to point to the incident, saying that Jesus sinned by not insisting that the punishment under the Law of Moses should be carried out. But, it is yet another example of His divinity that He decided to extend mercy to her ("I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy."). He used a very clever method for getting the merely religious to back off. Wonder what He wrote in the dirt? Some have speculated that He wrote the Ten Commandments. Others that He wrote down some of the sins of those present. The Scripture notes that the oldest of the men left first.
You are absolutely correct! I was looking at the wrong event. Thanks for bringing that to attention!
"But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God." I Cor 14:28
In context according to the way that men have dissected the written Bible? Is the context not the whole of the scripture when it is properly ordered and interpreted? Consider that Jesus is the Word of God which is what you and others call the written Bible. It is His Flesh although dead on the unread pages. It [the Bible] is all a message requiring interpretation; it is all a parable requiring interpretation:In context, that is speaking of the interpretation of tongues.
Interpretation of the holy scriptures is spoken of in these verses:
2Pe 1:19, We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
2Pe 1:20, Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
2Pe 1:21, For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
2Co 3:12, Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
I have heard of this happening actually.

It was the right move on her part.Evangelist, Rebecca Manley Pippert told this story in one of her videos (which are often quite moving, by the way). It seems that she was giving a talk to Christian students at a university (I forget which one now). Her talk concerned God's plan for sexual intimacy--one man, one woman, in marriage, for life. After her lecture was over, a young female student came up to her in tears. Rebecca was concerned and asked why the young woman was so troubled. The girl looked at her and said, "I just realized that I am going to have to move out of my boyfriend's apartment and it is making me very sad."
Of course you don't answer to me or any other man or woman...only Jesus Christ. You called me unorthodox and I would guess that most men would agree. But... it is not men to whom I must answer, is it?

"And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them." Matt 13:10-15
I would like that...We can still be friends...
I would like that...
I do consider you to be a woman of the Lord...and I know that there are things that I can even learn from you.
Of course, I know my Bible backwards and forwards, and I also consider myself to be a Berean to the hilt...
So be careful what you say to me_O
.
Then just be sure you read it the right way then and not just backwards.![]()
Amen...I love perfectly when Christ is living His life in me and through me.If you think you are finished sinning now that you are a Christian, ask yourself if you love perfectly and you will have your answer
