I am presuming that the Bible is the final authority on any given subject; and that if therefore there is some kind of "extra revelation" that contradicts the Bible, that the Bible is correct and that extrabiblical revelation would be a lie.

If it is in alignment with what the Bible teaches, then it bears examining further.

We can still be friends... Amadeus and myself have been friends for almost two decades , and there are some things that we do not agree upon at all...but we stay friends and agree to differ. ( I still trust that one day his eyes will be opened to see )

How many people who believe disagree with others who believe exactly the same thing in that regard? The final authority is NOT the written Bible, but God. God needs no one to interpret for Him when He speaks directly to us, but by even resorting to a written Bible we have already made an interpretation necessary.

"But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God." I Cor 14:28

Having no interpreter is the same as having an interpreter who is not connected with God for his interpretation. The interpreter who is always correct is the Holy Spirit within us, but this brings us back to the need to NOT quench the Holy Spirit.

That is what He said to the "Woman Caught in Adultery" (not the "Samaritan Woman at the Well"). What is interesting about that incident is that, under the Law of Moses, BOTH the man and the women were to be stoned. If only the woman had been stoned, it would not have been a legal execution. Unbelievers like to point to the incident, saying that Jesus sinned by not insisting that the punishment under the Law of Moses should be carried out. But, it is yet another example of His divinity that He decided to extend mercy to her ("I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy."). He used a very clever method for getting the merely religious to back off. Wonder what He wrote in the dirt? Some have speculated that He wrote the Ten Commandments. Others that He wrote down some of the sins of those present. The Scripture notes that the oldest of the men left first.

It seems that she was giving a talk to Christian students at a university (I forget which one now). Her talk concerned God's plan for sexual intimacy--one man, one woman, in marriage, for life. After her lecture was over, a young female student came up to her in tears. Rebecca was concerned and asked why the young woman was so troubled. The girl looked at her and said, "I just realized that I am going to have to move out of my boyfriend's apartment and it is making me very sad."

Amen...I love perfectly when Christ is living His life in me and through me.

When it is me that is doing the living, of course I am not loving the way I am supposed to at all.

I would say that Christ supplies the fulness of His love to those of us who believe on Him.

Romans 5:5, Ephesians 3:19-20.
