legal statistics ha!.... yeahhhh, what a great cover! No - the legal statistics prove it.
However - it is alive and well within Protestantism - and the legal statistics prove it . . .

Only the naive would believe that epostle.
By that definition, you make yourself out to be a liar. And in your dishonesty, you accuse me of something I've never done on this forum - like calling anybody a "liar". I have simply pointed out WHEN they lie. BIG difference.
As long as you straddle the line between the flesh and the spirit, you can easily explain away the one with the other...as you have. But here you show yourself to be ignorant of John's explanation, and now Paul's, as well as the times. Their explaining both, does not mean that both are present in one man, but rather that the dead are free of sin, while the living are also. Which truth you have not been able to comprehend. You are putting together, what they have separated by word of their epistle. You are putting together darkness with light...which is against God who divides the light from the darkness by decree daily. As for 1 John 3:9 which YOU have taken out of context - you are now pitting this against other passages. namely Rom. 7:25 and 1 Tim. 1:15, wherein Paul admits to struggling with sin in his born again state. John is talking about living in willful sin - not stumbling as ALL Christians do.
LEARN the difference . . .
Pay attention:
If you come to Christ and your sins are forgiven and your slate is wiped CLEAN– then you are WITHOUT sin.
If you now claim to “no longer” sin – then you are truly without sin.
Dead Bread, why do you continue to characterize others as "anti-catholic", as if the criticism is directed toward catholic people instead of to what it is directed: papal leadership which deceives members and preys on their children?
You take a quote from a church bulletin or newspaper that a priest wrote in 1995 and equate that to "the philosophy of the papacy"???? Can you see why it is sooooooo hard to take you serious???There are only two choices for the Christian: the one choice is to believe as this wonderful statement from the Review and Herald, Dec. 15, 1885, testifies about the relevancy and role of Scripture:
"The Bible, and the Bible alone, is to be our creed, the sole bond of union; all who bow to this Holy Word will be in harmony. Our own views and ideas must not control our efforts. Man is fallible, but God's Word is infallible...Let us meet all opposition as did our Master, saying, "It is written." Let us lift up the banner on which is inscribed, The Bible our rule of faith and discipline".
The other choice is to follow the philosophy of the papacy:
A warm thank-you to the papacy for their endorsement :)
"Perhaps the boldest thing, the most revolutionary change the church ever did, happened in the first (actually, it was the third) century. The holy day, the Sabbath, was changed to Sunday...not from any directions noted in the Scriptures, but from the church's sense of it's own divine power...People who think the Scriptures should be the sole authority, should logically become Seventh-day Adventists, and keep Saturday holy." -- St. Catherine Catholic Church Sentinel, May 21, 1995
Hi prism,You can stick to the topic without getting hot under the collar...
2 Timothy 3:15-17 NASBS
[15] and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. [16] All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; [17] so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.
Matthew 7:3Dead Bread, stop pretending the church didn't quietly pay off families of victims. No court records. No lawsuits. Just attorneys on both sides meeting to hammer out the details in what was a papist child rapist cottage industry, where the priests did no jail time, were shuffled around to other parishes, and everybody turned a blind eye.
Would you rather it be the Muslims "meddling in international affairs" and having an influence on our laws?It has been a tragic part in the history of many nations for many centuries... The political meddling in international affairs by Vatican envoys and papal agents.
Hi prism,
Using Sola Scriptura show me where it says WHAT "sacred writings" we are to use to give us "wisdom that leads to salvation".
Using sola Scriptura WHICH books are we to consider as God inspired Scripture.
Patient Mary
They were referring to what we NOW call the Old Testement Soooo, according to your theory, only the OT are "sacred writings" of which we are to use to give us "wisdom that leads to salvation".For starters,
(Luk 24:27) And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
(Joh 1:45) Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.
that is what is referred to here...
(2Ti 3:16) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
(2Pe 1:19) We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
(Heb 2:1) Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
(Heb 2:2) For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
(Heb 2:3) How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
(Heb 2:4) God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?
(Rom 15:4) For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision? Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.
(Rom 3:1-2)
Outside of that, I am not sure where would you place your ultimate authority?
The Jewish sects were formed out of their interpretations of Scripture, called the Talmud (not Scripture itself) forming their various traditions not unlike Rome and the East. They were referring to what we NOW call the Old Testement Soooo, according to your theory, only the OT are "sacred writings" of which we are to use to give us "wisdom that leads to salvation".
Since different Jewish sects at the time had different "sacred writings" how do YOU determine which Jewish Sect got it right?
What about the NT?
Mary
EGW never picked a date of Christ's return. And, Miller was only one of many worldwide who were searching the Scriptures during what is known as "the great religious awakening" which took place after the 1,260 years of Dark Ages. What caused all these people to start studying prophecy at the same time?Picking dates out of your behind like Wllliam Miller and Ellen White and trying to predict WHEN He comes back is what makes a false prophet.
Jesus warned against false prophets like Miller and White and Hal Lindsey and Harold Campion and Jack Van Impe and all the rest . . .
Q. To what kind of "rest" does Hebrews 4:9 refer? No, rather it would be saying Jesus fulfilled, and I keep HIM in Remembrance.
Israel, (Hebrews and Tribes) continuously WORK according to the Law, SO THEY ARE JUSTIFIED, to become SAVED.
WORKS to Please God, WORKS according to their LAW. Rituals, Sacrifices, Physical Death, then REST...
THEY ALSO ARE like any Gentile "CAN BE" IN Jesus' REST, as He sits at the Right Hand of God.
Once I accepted JESUS as my Lord and Savior, I also entered into HIS Rest. There is NO MORE "WORK" For me to do, TO:
Receive His forgiveness, Receive His Offered Salvation, Receive His Seed to quicken my spirit, Receive His Spirit....It is Already Accomplished.
It is not about 'physical' WORK, cooking, cleaning, tending animals, caring for the sick, etc.....It is SPIRITUAL WORKS ISRAEL DID to BECOME "Justified".
Gentiles for the last 2,000 + years have been accepting Jesus' Offering, and becoming JUSTIFIED, to REST "IN" Jesus.
We can't "KIND OF BE "IN" Christ"...Kind of, forgiven, Kind of saved, Kind of quickened, Kind of Justified, Kind of Sanctified....or Kind of "at Rest" IN Jesus.
It is a MYSTERY, BEING IN Christ, and having WHAT HE HAS....offered to us....BEFORE we physically DIE. Our WAITING is FOR Him to call us and GLORYIFY our Bodies, and "SEE" Him, as He is.
He IS RESTING, until the DAY He calls His Church UP to Him.
His Church IS RESTING, IN HIM, Until that Day He calls them UP To Him.
God Bless,

The very fact that he believes the demonic blasphemous ramblings which emanate from the Vatican (literally: "divining Serpent") make him anti-truth, so that's synonymous with "anti-Protestant"....maybe he is hinting he wants to be called anti-Protestant... lol.
God Bless,

Hello...The Catholic Mirror is hardly some obscure rag printed in someone's basement...like light years apart from that. And there are tons of other statements from papists who claim the pope's word is above every other word. A catholic has no other option but to own this, not deny it.You take a quote from a church bulletin or newspaper that a priest wrote in 1995 and equate that to "the philosophy of the papacy"???? Can you see why it is sooooooo hard to take you serious???
How do you find it sooooo easy to lie?
I feel sad for you![]()
The catholic mirror or the sentinel does NOT speak for the CC.Hello...The Catholic Mirror is hardly some obscure rag printed in someone's basement...like light years apart from that. And there are tons of other statements from papists who claim the pope's word is above every other word. A catholic has no other option but to own this, not deny it.
I told Dead Bread that if such statements are heretical, why has the church tolerated such heresy among its ranks, instead of taking decisive action against all these papal "heretics" who say "false things" about the pope and the papacy?
Firstly, I have no child rape beam stuck in my eye preventing me from seeing clearly.Matthew 7:3
Did you know that Jesus and the Apostles quoted non-Scriptural writings also? The Jewish sects were formed out of their interpretations of Scripture, called the Talmud (not Scripture itself) forming their various traditions not unlike Rome and the East.
Their Scriptures existed as one whole which their Scribes meticulously copied and which Jesus and the Apostles quoted from.
Even our Septuagint testifies to that.
The NT was also written by Jewish hand picked Apostles, not written by Rome.
