ah, no, sorry, lets remove ourselves from the situation and just let the passage speak, of course we all feel we are in the right and the other is not, and i for one do not know ok, maybe i am the evil prophet, right? But see this all comes out in the story, and it ends up not really being about us directly, so much as how we assimilate truth i think

ah no, i cant say that, but you a testifying of yourself imo, and this is a sign. Doesnt mean your testimony is completely untrue i guess either, just "not valid"

I didn't think so.

My point being, that although I have the knowledge, my being exalted to the position of seminary professor would also be up to the Lord...(and also, I think that I am currently too young for such a position...and I also feel that seminary is not my calling, as some have jokingly referred to it as cemetary).

And also, the truth of who our Triune God is, is out of the box, so that those who are steeped in tradition would discount it as heresy because they don't understand certain statements that are made about it that seem to contradict their creedal understanding.

But if they checked it out via the holy scriptures, they might even come into an accurate understanding of the Trinity...and a real understanding at that...to where they understand its intricacies and detalis.

Only faith is necessary. But I think most of Christendom has lowered the bar in their definition of faith. You only need to believe one thing Jesus said and all the other things are optional.

Consider Israel. They had faith and stepped out under the wall of water and were saved by God. But they later became unbelieving as far as temporal provision was concerned. So to start in trust is good. But if, after He saves you, you are found in unbelief, will you somehow receive a better deal than Israel?

If you are truly under the grace of God, you will not be permitted to fall. Paul states this very emphatically in Romans 8:35.

If you are truly under the grace of God, you will not be permitted to fall. Paul states this very emphatically in Romans 8:35.

John's First Epistle has very strong content about assurance of faith. Romans 8.38-39 is hard to argue against.
