So do you understand now better (not that I expect you actually to be of the same view) why faith based ink is often regarded as an effective witness opportunity?@farouk
... I am confused why your so heavily into tats.
I did 26-40@Waiting on him I don't think you voted yet in the poll, above, did you? :)
Thanks! It doesn't come up on my screen that you voted; if one clicks where it says '3 Votes' after 'Between 26 and 40' , your name does not appear (but maybe it's a screen issue on my computer...)I did 26-40
Well, I'm actually not a tattoo artist, and although I can see you're not so enthusiastic about the skin context, I guess you do concede that there is a lot of excellent tattoo artwork out there, isn't there?Hello dear-man, :)
You do love your tattoo thread, don't you? I think you must be a tattoo artist!! ;)
Though the art is highly skilled in many cases, I just wish it was portrayed on canvas rather than skin.
Chris
Although you might originally have had reservations about your sons' tattoos, later did your sons evidently seem pleased for your sake that in the end your own decision to get tattooed made you feel good? With my son's it had nothing to do with my feelings as a Christian, it was more a reality check that they were making decisions that I had little control over.
With me it was more an inspiration , so I felt good about it.
Sorry but I see it as an over justification of tattoos & as a self-serving thing because you're enamored with it.
I'm sure someone could for eg. do any number of unbiblical things in order to witness, they could dye their hair multi colors or red & white too to spark comment or interest,or conversation concerning Jesus. A person does not have to mark their body with permanent ink like the heathens do as the bible states, in order to do that. The fact is, it seems with some, inking becomes a fetish and I hope it is not a fixation with you because you seem to really want to push getting tattoos as a way to witness to give it a righteous quality and tattooing is not what is in the Bible for Christians to do to witness.

(I guess that Christians with faith based tattoos that are witness-friendly have chosen to embrace the medium rather than resist it, so to speak.)
Seems anyway that you do recognize there is a great deal of very fine tattoo artwork around, anyway, isn't there?
It faded before being photographed. (But I don't think you mind talking about tattoos and earrings yourself, do you... :) It's anyway what so many ppl get, distant and close, isn't it?)Okay my friend. Please post a photo of yourself, and all your tattoo's.
I am making a rule. You are only allowed to write in your tattoo and ear piercing threads from now on, if you post and show us yours.![]()

I did but not now.'IT', so you just had one done a million years ago.
Sooo do YOU wear (an) /ear rings ?
We have to be able to be ourselves and express our individual personalities. As a new Christian many moons ago, I felt people in the church looked down on me because I wore earrings and make-up so I stopped and became rather dowdy. But then I learned to accept who I am and be myself because God love the me he created me to be and I am allowed to wear dangly earrings and make up and I am now free to be myself. But I would never be immodest but then I suppose that is something for the individual to define for themselves. We need to just accept each other - tattoos and all.
PS:I am over 80 now..and got mine when I was 18, Cyprus, Army.
I remember considering one as a teen, but my momma would have beat me with a hickory switch.@Waiting on him PS: So as opposed to tattoos, as per discussion today, above, were you ever into earrings?
These days you would probably have considered having both ears pierced, which is what they do now, generally speaking; and if it had been today, moreover, your mother would probably have let you do it, as well.I remember considering one as a teen, but my momma would have beat me with a hickory switch.

The first tattoo does tend to wait until 18. (As you said your daughters already did. Ears tend to be a bit earlier than 18, right?)[/
Many pierce their toddlers around here
