New Features & Tools On Our New Software

I thought I would create this thread to show you a few of the new things that our new software has.

For instance, if you want to get someone's attention in a thread, you can simply tag them and they will get a notification. Cool isn't it @Gabrielle A @lforrest @Josho

I will update this first post as people ask about or find new features they think others would find useful :)

Oi mate, you got my attention, I will tag you back @Brent W . No tagging back, can't tag me now, i have invented this invisible tag shield, that once i tag someone they can't get me back. And i always can run away.

Anyways good job, shall be good fun playing a game of tag on these forums!

That is awesome @Brent W! Thank you! I would like to see in PM conversation if someone is typing so I can know they are still active.....sometimes I have left thinking they were off to other topics just to find out later they were there but typing and it was a long post. I see this feature in messenger and Facebook and it is awesome.

..AND is no one going to tell us why this Site was down for almost 24 hours?

If no Admins or moderators ever visit the site...how do any of you know that it is even DOWN!!

On ever other site that I am and have been on, we have got a round robin email to all active members ...telling us that they are sorry the site is down , because "blah blah blah" is happening!!!!

Not impress here.

If the hosting computers go down there is no website and there is no email.

If a particular website gets hacked, same result.

If a particular website is not maintained, meaning kept up to minimal requirements, same result.

When mine has a problem I do my best to keep everyone informed. If I do not then the other admin come after me.

Interestingly I reported the spammer yesterday and several hours later they were still there.

I do not know what software you used.

But I believe all modern form software collects email addresses and uses the server email server to send mail.

Even with all the pruning I did my forum still has 933 members.

Trying to keep up with all the addresses manually is impossible.

Checking people who want to become members can require ip blacklist checks, which now has programs to do that built-in. The old manual checks was a nightmare and the spammers were a constant plague.

But I agree with your point, being an admin is far more than a title. Being the founder even more so. As in owning the domain name, owning the forum software and maintaining both.

It was a couple other forums too that went down. From the error number it was a server problem and it would have been nice if someone said something but on all the sites that I am on no one in power has said one word. It sure does seem like they don't really care about us.

It was obvious from the reading on my computer that the problem was with the other end.... so what were they supposed to tell us that we did not already know?..... that we just had to wait till they got back online.

How hard would that have been to do..??
