Thanks, I do appreciate the heads up.

I guess I would first have to read and understand what a "progressive Christian" is to even begin to understand. My mind soaks too slowly so I'll leave it alone until someone simply says what it is supposed to be... if then.
They are the non-traditional ones , also referred to as the modern Liberal Christians but read down below those links, they tend to be into the social gospel and very loosely base their faith on the Bible scriptures because you wouldn't want to be too judgy ya know?? for instance, like actually saying people could go to hell is just too harsh in their opinions. It is a watered down Christianity that imo, doesn't accept the truth of God's Word as the only spiritual authority.

The answer is simple. They are not Christian.

They support LGBT, abortion, socialism and those kinds of things.

Well if someone has to put any word in front of their description of their Christian walk it looks like to me they have something that’s more important to them than our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
God comes first .

Just my opinion.

Blessings

Hello Amadeus
The jist of the progressive moment is that many things are relative. Example of this thinking is well that may be true for you but not for me . Like their is one way to God . Now progressive thinking
would say that that’s true for you but a good atheist will go to Heaven too. Or that yes the Bible is true for you , but you can’t expect it to apply to everyone.
Another thing that is important is feeling. Here is a example Trying to evangelize folks many times involves showing that person for the need for a Savior. Progressive will go out of their way not to criticize others and their actions. Thus diminishing the need of Christ in our lives .
All of the progressive is man centered. It’s concerned about feelings more than facts .
They forget it’s about God and not about us . It’s truly a very selfish and self serving. Sad and disappointing
Hope that helps .
Blessings
Bill

The age old questions??? How can we live in a world where so much evil exists?? If God is all Soverign why doesn’t he do something about it??

Count it all joy when you fall into various trials!

He’s possibly about to show you He has!
The answer is simple. They are not Christian.

this is the dung heap. People have been listening to a false gospel for far too long. I rejoice when I see him cultivating people’s hearts preparing them to receive real truth. Maybe many are starting to realize this isn’t their best life now.

I watched the first video, and it never ceases to amaze me how many uninformed Christians there are out there, who seem to lack all understanding about the purpose of suffering and why God allows it. In simplest terms, He allows sufferings as a test, to see if we love the Lord for His own sake and not only and IF He blesses us. Job passed the test, and it's why the Book was preserved for all humanity from very early times.

Who hasn't heard of the story of Job? And yet multitudes apparently don't understand it... I was sitting there hearing her talk about how her faith started to change after she visited the concentration camps. My faith increased when I studied the Holocaust, and in far greater detail than just a one day tour. It confirms Satan's hatred for the race God chose from the days of Abraham, and will continue to preserve and uphold until all enemy's are put under His feet.

If anything, it's a testimony to how pitiful and watered-down the teachings of the megachurches are, not to how much something that calls itself "Christianity" has in common with atheism.

God gives the increase. Oddly enough we have to decrease.

This 'progressive Christianity' stuff begins with a denial (whether verbally or in practice) of the inerrancy of Scripture as Bart Ehrman was it's poster boy. It is simply the old liberalism, disguised as Christianity, prostituting itself to the world.
Exactly. I was thinking of saying that it is just the same old theological liberalism which has no basis in reality or truth.

I believe it should be a daily devotion of every Christian to pray that this blanket of deceit be removed from the eyes of this world. We should pray heartily for the destruction of the flesh. In hope that souls may be saved.

Agreed. And instead of trusting in the goodness of God - that He will reward those who are faithful to Him and who trust Him even through the fire - they pass judgment on Him. "Oh, what an evil God..." He commands us to forgive, but it offends me. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him and trust in His love, and they can believe whatever they want. But the fact is they're saying they are better than the God who CREATED them.

Th truth is, no man actually know what God is going to do, because there are some things that God wont disclose to us, because we are so ignorant and arrogant,

Luk 14:28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
Luk 14:29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,
Luk 14:30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
Luk 14:31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?
Luk 14:32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.

I am sure God had it all worked out before He started it all and again,

Luk 7:40 And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.
Luk 7:41 There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.
Luk 7:42 And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?
Luk 7:43 Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.

both these say a lot of who God is..

The Bible says layup are treasures in heaven, not on this earth.

It also says if we suffer injustice on this he will compensate us in heaven.

Too many Christians are only focused on this earth when you get to the bottom line.

do we love God because we might be rewarded?? is that Love...

Luk 17:7 But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?
Luk 17:8 And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?
Luk 17:9 Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.
Luk 17:10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

If one works for awards there are none.

If one works for salvation there is no salvation.

That is why those who were cults teaching salvation by works are in trouble.

I have charismatic friends, they were over a couple of months ago and his wife was explaining how they had studied in church about how we are to store up our treasures in heaven. She went on to explain how that they were building this grand earthly house and all their money was tied up in their credit card at Lowe’s and that was where their heart was. At Lowe’s, “because that’s where our treasure is “.

I remember reading some extra-biblical source from the 2nd century one time that said the apostles homes had fallen into disrepair due to non-use and abandonment, because they hardly lived there after they were called to preach the gospel to the four corners of the earth. If true, it makes me feel a little better about my own life, cuz on some days the choice is spend time with the Lord or go spend hours cleaning up a backyard that has gotten out of hand. Scripture says not to be lazy, but it also says not to be overly invested and involved in the things of this world. They are passing away anyway, whereas the word of the Lord will endure forever, and we'll get to keep the time we spent with Him.
