This a very tiny flower.
The first one we see after the snow is gone.
Grows in fields.

Last summer on the side of a highway, near a rest stop. Southern BC, Canada.

Yes. You could notice that right away from the top of any structure in Italy.
What was interesting about the tower, and still is, is that on one side you see the orange roof tops, and on the other side you see the more modern part of Pisa with a mixture. I like the old part better.

I was there also in 1970.

I was a student in West Berlin at the time. For the Christmas break I traveled by train [ Polish train] to London. The Netherlands was on the way. I have a number of pictures taken either from the train or at short stops until we reached Amsterdam. From there as I recall we went under the water to England. I was suffering from severe bronchitis at the time, so it was not as enjoyable as it might have been. It was also my only extended trip in Europe traveling all alone. That was my only time in the Netherlands. I don't have the exact date, but on Christmas day of 1969 I was in London. By the time I returned to West Berlin it would have been 1970.
