Stress, fear, and worry take a toll and people search for relief. Unfortunately the spirit of the age spills over into our Christian life and we become frantic in our effort to serve God as if we had to do something more 'to earn' His favour and approval to find peace, only to succeed in wearing ourselves out “trying” rather than “trusting.”
For a true follower of Christ there is promise of inner peace and rest...a serenity of soul that enables us to find spiritual peace regardless of the circumstances.
At the core of our inner being we find an assurance that God who orders all things according to His plan and purpose has given us an anchor for the soul to weather any storm and remain untouched by the turmoil and uncertainty that leaves other people ship wrecked on the shores of life..... in Jesus Christ!
For the Christian this is the way of peace. *Without inner peace it is impossible to hear God’s voice or sense His presence.
“Let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ’s] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always]” .........Colossians 3:15 Amplified.
