What is the "road to life"?

The road to life is described in Matt 7:13-14, if you’d like to explore it?
“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” (ESV)

What do we discern from Jesus’ words here? Are they complicated or hard to understand?

Contrasts were a big part of Jesus’ teachings.….so here we have two different paths, leading to two very different destinations, but the travelers on the wrong road imagine that they are on the right one, because they have so many on the journey with them. All these people can’t be wrong….can they? Even minor disagreements don’t count if you ignore them….right?

There is a gate…a narrow one…leading onto the right road, which is not like the other path, it is cramped and difficult to travel, whereas the gate onto the super highway is wide, so that the ”many” who are traveling it, do not find it difficult at all.

The outcome of people’s decisions as to which path they will choose, is stated a few verses later in Vs 21-23, which says….

”Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’“ (ESV)

Those who chose the road ‘well travelled‘ will not have the same outcome as those who took the “road less travelled.“ So those who chose the right road are in the minority….the majority are on a dead end road where there is a precipice awaiting them. Look at what they claimed…..was any of it real? Or did they only imagine that Jesus was their “Lord”? Were any of their activities or claims real to Jesus?

Were they shocked at his rejection? Why were they shocked?

I’m sorry, but wasn’t it you who said I didn’t have a clue? You are supposedly the one who knows the answer, so the onus is on you. My post was to someone else with whom I was discussing this scripture…..the details were hopefully going to be discussed with someone who is not an ego maniac who has to be right by putting others down and pushing his own views as if they cannot be challenged.

If only Jehovah’s Witnesses are following God’s directive, and it is because of them that doctors have observed the clear benefits in avoiding blood transfusions, then who is it that is teaching something harmful? I am merely presenting an alternative view….a valid medical one….but backed up by God’s law.

If it were not for JW’s sticking to God’s word, they never would have observed the benefits of not having someone else’s blood and DNA being put into them.

After the AIDS epidemic in the 80’s every way to transmit this disease was a violation of God’s law…..blood transfusions were found to be a problem, so they started to find ways to treat patients with alternatives. They used techniques that JW’s were already using, with great success.

You can’t stand the fact that you might be wrong, so you refuse to watch the video…that is your choice to remain ignorant…..a lot of doctors don’t want to know the truth either. It’s so easy to just give their patients blood……but it is no guarantee that it will save them…..the video proves that it is often the cause of death or complications after surgery and in trauma cases. (What do the words ”morbidity” and “mortality” mean?)

Sticking to outdated medical practice in spite of the evidence, shows practitioner bias as they don’t want to be seen as the cause of someone’s death when they were trying to save them.….but that is more about egos than saving lives.

Just watch the video as I am sure the readers have done since it is from well respected medical experts in the field….are you an expert ? If you haven’t watched the video, it’s because you’re afraid to….

Do you really think that these well respected doctors around the world would be warning about a procedure they believed was life saving? They were told it was, but at the turn of this century, they began to waver on this issue…..and the concerned doctors responded by using methods that had been formerly applied to JW patents…..and later, whole hospitals were devoted to non blood management of their patients. Were they too misinformed?
We are not “anti doctors” or “anti medicine”…. We just want medical treatment that does not violate our conscience.

If those who watched the video, now know what you refuse to believe, then what else do you believe that isn’t true? Your credibility is looking a bit shaky at this point….

@The Gospel of Christ, it isn’t common knowledge among those who profess “Christianity” that there are two ”Israels”…..ones who descended from Abraham, whom John B told were putting too much store by their relationship to this much revered forefather…..(Matt 3:7-10) and “the Israel of God” (Gal 6:16) who were both Jewish and gentile disciples of Jesus Christ….very different groups of people.

The Bible is so clear about the distinction, but some just cannot see it….and will go on supporting ‘national Israel’ in the mistaken notion that this people will somehow all repent and come to Christ at the end……they are as blood thirsty as those with whom they are allied…..nations whose worship they despise.
If God was with them, no power could be against them…..their alliances prove that God is not supporting them.

The body of Christ will never be destroyed by anyone….
On one occasion, when the Jews demanded a sign from Jesus, he replied: “Break down this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” The Jews thought he was speaking of the temple building, but the apostle John explains: “He was talking about the temple of his body.” (John 2:18-22)

Paul also added….”Do you not know that you people are God’s temple, and that the spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If anyone destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him; for the temple of God is holy, which [temple] you people are.” (1 Cor 3:16-17)

It is not just our prayers that will help these ones, but our actively getting Christ’s message out to them, as Jesus instructed…..knowing that “few” will respond….for the sake of the few, we keep going. Time is of the essence, as the day of reckoning draws closer.

I agree….national Israel has nothing to be proud of, any more that her disobedient forebears. Faithful men of the pre-Christian era had a great example to leave them, but they did not follow it.
