I was on a different forum and there seemed to be a lot of disagreement concerning Christians speaking God's Word as though there was something wrong with that, as though saying what God says about is in agreement with the Lord is somehow wrong.

Matthew 12:35-37 - A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things....but I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment....for by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned.

As an example (and this is a hot potato for some) saying what God says about healing and being healthy

Proverbs 4:20-23 - Attend to My words; incline your ear unto My sayings....let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart....for they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh....keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it flow the forces of life.

Why would it be wrong for me to say "Thank you Lord for your Word which is health to all my flesh as I attend to your Word"?

1 Peter 2:24 - Jesus carried our sins in his own body on the cross, so that we, being dead to sin, should live unto righteousness: by Whose stripes you were healed.

Why would it be wrong for me to say "Thank you Lord for carrying my sins in your body so I can be dead to sin l;iving unto righteousness and by your stripes I have been healed"?

Matthew 8:17 (Referencing Isaiah 53:4,5)
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

Why would it be wrong to say "Thank you Lord taking my sickness and diseases upon your Body for my healing, by your stripes I have been healed"

Just seems odd to me that some Christians do not see the important to agreeing with what the Lord says about His blood bought people in His Word and saying what God says about us with our mouths

Proverbs 18:21 - Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Proverbs 6:2 - Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.

Clearly, talking in opposition to what the Lord says about us in His Word is an open door to the devil that gives him the legal right to bring forth evil in one’s life.

The best answer to a question is the Word of God. It is mighty and powerful to the pulling down of strongholds.

Amen to that!

Maybe due to some of the so called word of faith preachers going way way overboard, it has caused many to think that there is something wrong with confessing what God's Word says about us.

I have found it to be very empowering since God watches over His Word to perform it and the old devil hates it when God's Word is spoken and acted on as an offensive weapon against him as we see this is what Jesus did when the devil was trying to tempt Jesus to sin. Jesus beat the devil up and ran him off with God's Word!

It would seem that the enemy has worked hard to paint confessing God's Word in a bad light because it's in the devil's best interest that Christians NOT confess what God says about us in His Word being this is our offensive weapon against the forces of darkness.

Why were they posting verses from the bible?
It is surprisingly common for people to just post chunks off the bible. Just that a section of a biblical book.
No explanation, no application, no comme t on that passage, just some verses which are to speak to people!

If God has challenged someone to post bible verse, he has also challenged them as to why they should be posted.

I agree, that could very well be the reason, and they simply may not have understood that the person was merely speaking what the Bible says can take place in our lives.

It can be concerning when people speak too casually about hearing from the Lord, especially when they frequently say, “The Lord told me this” or “The Lord told me that,” without any clear confirmation from Scripture. I have had experiences where individuals have approached me, claiming that God told them I should do something, yet it often seems more like their own desire than a true message from God. But I trust that if the Lord genuinely wants me to do something, He is fully capable of making that clear to me Himself. He is not a God of confusion but of peace, as 1 Corinthians 14:33 says, and He knows how to speak to His children in a way they can understand. While God can use others to confirm His will, He also gives His Spirit to each believer for guidance and conviction, and we are called to test everything and hold fast to what is good, as instructed in 1 Thessalonians 5:21.

While some preachers have taken certain teachings to unbiblical extremes, that should not cause us to reject the clear truth found in Scripture about the power of our words and the importance of aligning our speech with what God has declared. The Bible consistently emphasizes the value of confessing God’s Word, not as a means to manipulate outcomes for selfish gain, but as an expression of faith and agreement with His promises. Romans 10:10 says that with the heart one believes and with the mouth one confesses unto salvation, showing that confession has a role in the believer’s life beyond mere repetition. Throughout the Psalms, we see David declaring the goodness and faithfulness of God even in the midst of difficulty, demonstrating that speaking God’s truth is a way of anchoring ourselves in His character and promises. When done with a humble heart that seeks God’s will, confessing what He has said builds faith, renews the mind, and strengthens us to walk in obedience. We should not allow the errors of a few to rob us of a biblical practice that, when rightly understood, honors God and helps us grow in Christ.

Why were they posting verses from the bible?

No, they were saying Christians should not be confessing what God says about them as though that is wrong somehow.

If God has challenged someone to post bible verse, he has also challenged them as to why they should be posted.

Because it's God's Word and Christians should delight themselves in everything God says in His Word.

Amen! Stick to the word!

And Welcome to the Forum.

Yessir and thank you!
