The words (Thousand Years) is nothing more than an explanation to the human mind that one day is 1,000 years, no literal time is seen in Revelation 20:1-6
And yet those who had been beheaded for their refusal to worship the beast are described has having taken part (past tense) in the first resurrection and reigning with Christ a thousand years.

So unless you have the beast ascending from the abyss nearly 2,000 years ago you have a future millennium.

Apparently, you don't grasp the argument, or that you do except you are ignoring the argument.

The argument is this. When the martyrs live and reign with Christ a thousand years, thus have part in the first resurrection, it is meaning after the beast has already ascended out of the pit first, not before it ascends out of the pit. Which then means the placement of the beginning of the thousand years matters big time.


Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.


Anyone who insists this---which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands---was not involving the 42 month reign of the beast recorded in Revelation 13, is someone one should not take any of their arguments seriously, since it would mean this person can't even discern something plain and simple as this, that the 42 month reign explains their martyrdom.

You are playing word games to allow Premil. The whole of Scripture depicts the coming of the Lord as climatic. Revelation is the last of seven recaps in that book.

Jesus taught a singular time (or hour) that is coming when all of the dead will be raised. Please notice “the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth.” We are not just looking at the righteous, we are looking at both the righteous and the wicked. The passage goes on to confirm: “they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.” All that are in the graves will come forth when He comes. The righteous will be ushered into His glorious kingdom, the wicked shall be damned for all eternity in the lake of fire.

The righteous and wicked dead all rise in response to the same sovereign voice - Christ's. Christ’s description of the resurrection depicts a unitary event, albeit in two parts. Part 1 is the elect; Part 2 is the wicked. Jesus explains in John 5:28-29, “Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth.” Evidently there is only one resurrection albeit involving two separated aspects: “they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.”

There is no 1,000 years’ separation mentioned or hinted at in here.

The Bible makes it clear that Christ is "the first resurrection" (Acts 26:23 and Revelation 20:6), "the firstborn from the dead" (Colossians 1:18), "the firstfruits of them that slept" (1 Corinthians 15:20), "first begotten of the dead" (Revelation 1:5).

The beast arises in Satan's little season at the end of Revelation 20. You need to compare Scripture with Scripture. If you do, you will see that.

These that take part in the first resurrection are those that have overcome the beast by not worshipping him. The same beast you say doesn't arise until satan's little season. This presents a bit of a conundrum for you.

Please read revelation 20:4-6 again. Does this not say " the souls...... " It is not discussing Jesus here as the first resurrection. What do you do with the reference / purpose for the 1000 year comment? What do you do with the reference / purpose for the "second resurrection? (the second resurrection AFTER the first - of the souls?

Jesus is indeed the "first fruits." but 26.23 is speaking of Him while 20:4-6 is speaking of those who will or will not be with HIm.

After all, Jesus is absolutely the firstborn from the dead (Colossians 1:18), the first fruits of those who will be raised to eternal life (1 Corinthians 15:20). His resurrection is the cornerstone of our faith and the promise that we too will be raised one day.

But Revelation 20 is talking about something a little different. In that chapter, John sees a vision of thrones and people reigning with Christ for 1,000 years. These are those who had been faithful, even to the point of death. And then he says: “This is the first resurrection” (v.5). It’s important to see that the passage is not describing Jesus’ resurrection here, but the resurrection of those who belong to Him. It’s the resurrection of the righteous—the redeemed—who rise to reign with Christ during His 1,000-year reign. So, while Jesus is indeed the first chronologically to rise from the dead with a glorified body, Revelation’s “first resurrection” is referring to the first of two major resurrections at the end of time: the resurrection of the righteous.

John even makes the distinction clearer by adding, “The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended” (v.5). This means there’s a second resurrection—one that takes place after the millennium, and it’s for those who did not belong to Christ. These individuals are raised for judgment, which is described later in Revelation 20:11–15 at the great white throne.

That 1,000-year gap between the two resurrections is incredibly significant. It’s not just a random time span. It’s the period when those who are in Christ—who were raised in the first resurrection—reign with Him. It’s also a time when Satan is bound, when the earth rests from deception, and when God’s faithful enjoy the fruit of the promises they held onto in faith. So when we see the phrase “first resurrection” in Revelation, we can confidently say it’s referring to the resurrection of those who belong to Jesus—not just Him alone. His resurrection is the foundation, the victory, the first act. But this “first resurrection” is the gathering of the faithful who will rise because He rose first. And the 1,000-year space between that resurrection and the next is not just a delay—it’s a divine declaration that His promises are true, His reign is real, and His justice will come in full measure, exactly as He said it would.

And of course Rev 20 has the beast and FP already in the LOF at the timeframe of the little season so the trib and their defeat in Rev 19 did happen before the events of Rev 20.

The beast has been around since the beginning. He is not a person. He is the evil demonic executor of the devil. He was defeated at the cross, and has been restrained in his ability until recently. The abyss is not a physical geographical prison. It is a spiritual prison. I believe Satan, the beast and the kingdom of darkness have been loosed for their final assault on the saints of God before Jesus comes.

This is one of the major problems with Premillennialism, they literalize what is clearly spiritual, and they spiritualize what is clearly literal.

But Revelation 20 is talking about something a little different. In that chapter, John sees a vision of thrones and people reigning with Christ for 1,000 years. These are those who had been faithful, even to the point of death. And then he says: “This is the first resurrection” (v.5). It’s important to see that the passage is not describing Jesus’ resurrection here, but the resurrection of those who belong to Him. It’s the resurrection of the righteous—the redeemed—who rise to reign with Christ during His 1,000-year reign. So, while Jesus is indeed the first chronologically to rise from the dead with a glorified body, Revelation’s “first resurrection” is referring to the first of two major resurrections at the end of time: the resurrection of the righteous.

John even makes the distinction clearer by adding, “The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended” (v.5). This means there’s a second resurrection—one that takes place after the millennium, and it’s for those who did not belong to Christ. These individuals are raised for judgment, which is described later in Revelation 20:11–15 at the great white throne.

That 1,000-year gap between the two resurrections is incredibly significant. It’s not just a random time span. It’s the period when those who are in Christ—who were raised in the first resurrection—reign with Him. It’s also a time when Satan is bound, when the earth rests from deception, and when God’s faithful enjoy the fruit of the promises they held onto in faith. So when we see the phrase “first resurrection” in Revelation, we can confidently say it’s referring to the resurrection of those who belong to Jesus—not just Him alone. His resurrection is the foundation, the victory, the first act. But this “first resurrection” is the gathering of the faithful who will rise because He rose first. And the 1,000-year space between that resurrection and the next is not just a delay—it’s a divine declaration that His promises are true, His reign is real, and His justice will come in full measure, exactly as He said it would.

I do not agree. You're fighting with Scripture here. There can only be one first resurrection. It happened 2000 years ago. This alone disallows your thesis.

What is more, you have zero corroboration teaching that there is a large amount of time between the resurrection of the righteous and the resurrection of the wicked. Countless Scripture shows a general resurrection and a general judgment. Read any parable. Read the teaching of Paul the apostle, Peter and John. So, once again, Scripture disallows your teaching at every turn.

, BOTH CTK and WPM are in error about those things.


Lord Jesus showed in John 5:28-29 that ALL... in the graves are resurrected on the day of His 2nd coming. That means it is impossible for a 2nd resurrection of the dead in graves to happen after Christ's "thousand years" reign. That points to the Rev.20:5 idea that the "dead lived not again until..." has to have some other meaning.

The Rev.20 Scripture about the "dead" is often misinterpreted because of folks using their fleshy thinking. On the day of Christ's future return, man's time in flesh bodies will be over, and the resurrection Paul showed is to a "spiritual body", not another flesh body. So when Jesus said the dead also are resurrected per John 5:28-29 when He comes, that means they also will be resurrected to a "spiritual body", and not another flesh body. This reveals that just having the "spiritual body" does NOT mean automatic Salvation. One MUST also believe on Jesus Christ for their soul to be made immortal unto eternal life.

So what is... the implied... 2nd resurrection of Rev.20?

Because Rev.20 mentions the idea of a 1st... resurrection, that automatically implies... at least one more LIKE it unto eternal Life through Christ Jesus.

That is why at God's Great White Throne Judgment the books are opened to show the works of the "dead" as they 'stand' in judgment. The Book of Life is also opened to see if any of their names are found in it.

WHY... would the Book of Life be opened at that time of Judgment to see if any names of the "dead" are in it?

That's... the implied 2nd resurrection unto Eternal Life! Some of those "dead" will have their names found in that Book of Life and be like the 1st resurrection unto Jesus Christ! That is how the 'dead' will "live again". It is pointing to SOME that will CONVERT TO CHRIST during His "thousand years" reign!

The beast arises in Satan's little season at the end of Revelation 20. You need to compare Scripture with Scripture. If you do, you will see that.

In another post you indicated the beast has been around since the beginning. I do not disagree with that. What about the false prophet, though? Has the false prophet also been around since the beginning? Let's not forget about him or it or they, whatever the fp might be. According to Revelation 13 the fp ascends out of the earth. It doesn't say instead that it ascends out of the pit

These martyrs recorded in Revelation 20:4---which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands---there is no way that the fp did not have a hand in their martyrdom.

THe idea is to use Scripture to interpret Scripture. Which means we should be interpreting this in light of Revelation 13, for one. Anyone not doing that, interpreting Revelation 20:4---which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands--in light of Revelation 13 couldn't possibly be interpreting the timing of the thousand years correctly.
