2:12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

The canon was not available to the common man. Neither were Gutenberg Bibles. The earliest complete Bible codex (such as the Codex Sinaiticus) dates back to the 4th century AD. The earliest printed Bible was the Gutenberg Bible in 1455.

Don't stop there.Romans 2:12-14 figure it out.
You don't understand Romans 2:12-14 ?
This doesn't fit the standard evangelical claims about salvation only through Christ.Don't stop there.
Romans 2:14-16 NIV
(Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law,
they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law.
15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts,
their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them
and at other times even defending them.)
16 This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets
through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.
Don't stop there.

We impose our will on God's will and we don't focus on Jesus Christ. Then what is the root cause of all the excessive interpretation?
We tend to forget that mercy is always an option in judgment. What do you think of God's judgment? What do you think of human court judgment?
How does attempting to interpret the Bible fall into the category of "imposing our will on God's will"?We impose our will on God's will and we don't focus on Jesus Christ.
I'm not even sure what excessive interpretation is. ???Then what is the root cause of all the excessive interpretation?

See the floor #12I'm not even sure what excessive interpretation is. ???
Is there a range of interpretation? From minimal to excessive?
Who decides how much is enough?

It's not working. Five hundred years of Sola Scriptura, and we're not finding what we're looking for through interpretation of the scriptures. "You search the scriptures..."I'm not even sure what excessive interpretation is. ???

From post #12:See the floor #12
Christians don't understand because of the scriptures, Instead of seeking help from the Holy Spirit.2 Corinthians 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
Does anybody else understand the frustration with all the broken promises of, "Oh, if we'd just interpret our Bibles correctly, if we'd just allow the Holy Spirit to guide us in our lives, we'd find unity and peace and fellowship with Christ"?
