“What an immense privilege to have something a majority of Christians in church history dis not have ...

A personal copy of the whole Bible at home, thanks to the work of the Protestant Reformers.

Don’t ignore it. Read it. Every day.
Through it, God will make you more like Jesus.”

“Read your Bible daily. It’s your inoculation against sophistry, fads, and deceit. It’s your spiritual food. It’s a lamp and a sword.” - Joel Berry

“To grow in the knowledge of God and to live in light of His truth, it’s important that we set aside focused time to study his Word.

As you consider your Bible study plans for the year ahead, explore more than 20 reading plans that can help you meditate on the Scriptures often.”

Do you use a Bible reading plan? If you do, have you selected one for the coming year? If you have, which plan will you be following?
One text read and understood is of more value than having read the whole bible and not understood.
Knowledge is greater than cognitive information.

“We are one of the most privileged generations in history, able to own a personal copy of the Bible, even multiple copies in various translations.

And yet this generation remains so biblically ignorant.
Open the Bible and read it!”

“Visit many good books, but live in the Bible.” - C.H. Spurgeon

Be intentional. Have a plan of one sort or another to live in the Bible.

“God wants to communicate with you in the 21st century. He wrote His message in a book. He asks you to come and study that book for three compelling reasons: it’s essential for growth. It’s essential for maturity. It’s essential for equipping you, training you, so that you might be an available, clean, sharp instrument in His hands to accomplish His purposes.

So the real question confronting you now is: How can you afford not to be in God’s Word?”

“Deeply consider that it is your duty and interest to read the Holy Scriptures.” - Adam Clarke

On what day is a disciple of the Messiah off duty? On what day is it not his or her interest?

“The want of habitual reading of Holy Scripture by professedly Christian people is very much to be regretted.” - C.H. Spurgeon

Have no regrets in this regard. Habitually read the Bible.

I like Spurgeon's quote. I guess it depends on how one see's what is said. 'Habitually' does not mean putting the scripture into a strait jacket of ritual whereas 'reading plan' sounds regimented and undeviating.
Religion loves 'reading plans', loves regimentation, loves control, loves rules, loves that carnal certainty. It loves it because it doesn't/ can't see the world of faith, of trust and security.

I find comfort in Jesus words, 'why worry, look at the birds of the air and the lilies of the field...' It gives me a 'ride easy in the saddle' angle....but ride.

God is present, closer than our breath. Being on-goingly conscious of it shifts everything.

Reading plans have advantages and disadvantages.

If someone finds that disadvantages outweigh the advantages then they won’t use one.

The purpose of this thread is to encourage people to regularly read the Bible. Statistically, Christians fail to do so.

They fail to read it because either they are unmotivated; its exponents don't inspire them or thinking is too much of an ask.

The tireless bots never rest from their work. From my X / Twitter “For you” feed:

”Seven weeks into the year, how are you doing with your Bible reading? Let George Mueller‘s testimony inspire you to press on. By the time he reached 71 years old, he reflected on the life-changing power of reading all of Scripture - yes, even the hard parts. He read through the Bible one hundred times and found it fresh every time, deepening his peace and joy year after year.

Don’t give up. Pick it up. Press on.”

(John Piper)

Let us be committed to leading such a disciplined life.

The NT is spiritual food that every born again believer needs to eat....daily.

See, if you go a day without eating your daily meals..., you will begin to feel weak.
If you do this 2 days, 3 days, then you will find that you have no power, no energy, no life in you..
You're starving.

And so....when a Christians "meal book" is not being eaten, then their spiritual power, their revelation knowledge, goes away....it diminishes.
Eventually, you wont care about "Christian stuff", at all.., as that is the effect of a dusty bible.. and coming to a forum, can actually harm you... because if you are not spending time with God's power book, then your spirit is on the hunt.. and on forums there is so much false theology, and scriptural error, and demonic activity related to false theology...that can harm you, because you are not in a spiritual place of strength... do to neglecting your spiritual inner life.
