Jesus clearly mentioned, Hell fire, the everlasting fire, the furnace of fire, the Lake of fire. Those who deny this are heading for the everlasting fire!

Not in John 3 He didn't.

It's perfectly reasonable to interpret salvation in the gospels in terms of being saved during the Roman destruction of the nation in 70AD. Why? because that actually happened. When the Romans arrived, the Christians heeded the warnings in the gospels and basically escaped the destruction that the rest of the country underwent.

Hell will be filled with people who don't believe in Hell!

So... that's the chapter we were discussing. Do you find that you have a hard time following conversations sometimes?
I'm quite on topic!

"Sugar coating hell - the bitter pill"

Satan LOVES it when people don't believe in Hell!

Perishing, yes. But nary a mention of hellfire.

In three verses we learn of the extent of God's love, that there is such a thing as eternal life, that if we believe we can have that life or if we don't believe we are condemned.

If one has a center eternal life the details of what happens to those who don't accept it are unimportant.

"Eternal separation from God." (whatever that means to you)

A follow-up to the previous topic:

The changing perception of hell. - How do you define it?

The hell doctrine has always been "the fly in the ointment" for me.
Being raised evangelical, I was fine with all of it, (didn't know any better) except the hell doctrine.
The glitch in the Matrix. "You've been down that road. You know where it ends."

Even very by-the-book Christians are modifying their views on hell, or the afterlife.
As the previous trend for fire-and-brimstone preaching has all but gone the way of the dinosaur.
Leaning toward a more personalized stance on "eternal separation from God". (whatever that means to you)

- What's your definition of hell?
- How do you see the final judgment playing out?
- Will everyone be saved in the end?
- Will the Lord who taught us to love our enemies incinerate his?

Eternal Separation is there is no coming back, and when you find yourself facing it at the fires of damnation at the Second death, you will be a believer.. But then it will be too late..

To what end?
Is God not in the business of restoration?

Not if you believe the Bible.

Matthew 13:49-50
49 So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just,
50 and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Disagree. Most of us have loved ones who we're... unsure of... shall we say?

There seems to be a pretty big difference between "puts the evil to death" and "tortures the evil endlessly for all eternity."

God is perfectly just. So it fo.lows that, assuming we find out the whys and wherefores of what happens to them, we will be satisfied with God's justice.

Malachi 3:2 NIV
But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears?
For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap.

Mark 9:49 NIV
Everyone will be salted with fire.

Not the same as the EVERLASTING fire that Jesus warned! The place of NO RETURN!

Does that mean that my Bible verses are false and your Bible verses are true? - LOL

[
It means you totally ignore Jesus's warnings of the EVERLASTING fire! But there may be hope for you.

Revelation 20:10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Everyone is condemned to hell at birth its the default location - God is offering you a way out in Christ he is not sending you there you already have a first class ticket to hell in the fall of humanity by Satan and the fallen Angels. If you want out of hell you can find your salvation in the death and resurrection of Christ nowhere else.If you don't that is your destination like it or not.You need to understand that.Jesus is assuming you know your going to hell but not many believe this because they don't truly believe the faith only bits and pieces that work for them.
Jesus spoke the most about hell I suggest you believe what he said.

Did you actually read the verse? It tells us exactly who is subject to eternal torments:

✔ Satan
✔ Beast
✔ False Prophet
❌ Everybody Else

And if one were to put in a little extra effort and look at the surrounding verses, it also tells us exactly what happens to the people that were deceived.

9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
