I honestly don't think I could afford to do it fully but I do think I am going to stock up on meat at some point. I might need to buy a deep freezer at some point.

I remember living on a farm, one cow fed everyone for a year. It was pretty nice, actually.

I might try the collagen though. Do you raise your own chickens for eggs?

It's like $8-10 for a carton right now in stores. Thanks Bird Flu
Yes, I raise my own chickens. I don't talk a lot about it bc I know the agenda to take away food security. I've talked to some people in the industry and they say they believe the BF is hyped way out of proportion. They haven't been seeing it.

I did keto for 6 years and I was eating very little protein. I thought I couldn't afford meat ....and I couldn't. I was spending so much money on salad fixings, keto mayo, keto dressing, mustard, keto bread, keto pancake mixes, keto cakes, berries ...lol ....keto everything. My protein was eggs, but maybe 2 eggs a day and some cheese and greek yogurt ....sigh. I couldn't afford meat, on top of all of that. And my veggies were spoiling before I could eat them all. Then my digestive system said "NO MORE!" .....and shut down. All my food was very painfully passing through in 20 minutes, whole, undigested.

So switching to just meat, eggs, butter, cheese ...my food bill has cut in half and I have no food waste. If by some chance some meat goes a little old, I have dogs and cats. If my milk or cream goes a little sour, my dogs love it ...or I ferment chicken feed with the milk.

Be back later to share more ....gonna mix up some burger meat for breakfast! :)

I wish we could raise chickens here, but it's against the ordinances.

But we can garden, so I'm sowing asparagus and onions today. It will pay off in 2-3 years? hlf

I feel like the basic necessities are the things to get back to. I might start a Sourdough starter today because of it. It is so easy when you're not feeling well to get lazy about it and then it is just this cycle of "I don't feel right so I am not cooking," blah-blah-blah, you know. Lol
