Like I said, Paul knew a person needs to born again to believe in Jesus, so if a person obeyed the command to believe in Jesus, after hearing the gospel, it was evident they were born again, simple as that

FIRST a person HEARS the word...
THEN he comes to believe.

The way you and other calvinists understand the gospel a person has to be born again/regenerated FIRST so that he could then
become born again.

First a person hears...

For those who are in Christ, there is NO condemnation, we are being conformed into the image of Jesus, that doesn’t happen by reading a Bible...the Living Spirit Of God works in the heart of his child, the Bible confirms this..
We have been Born Again of a Living seed, our spirit is Born Again, when someone tells us, that we have our belief backwards, who are they to tell us that, ?
Were they there at my rebirth, when the Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are the children of God?

That is not how God says we are “ Born Again “.

That is how YOU say we are Born Again.....coming from your own understanding and human perspective in your thinking.....which is unbiblical as we can all see.

Some think that the Bible is the enduring word of God....the Bible is the inspired word of God, he gave men the words to write.

The scripture confirms that Gods word is a Living word .....otherwise if it wasn’t, how could our spirit be Born Again of imperishable seed?

Beliving on Christ is an evidence of one having spiritual life, for faith is a fruit of the Spirit Gal 5:22 who is the giver of Spiritual life. Remember Jesus said of the Spirit Jn 6:63

63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Quickeneth means : make alive, give life, spiritual living and spiritual life which is needed to receive Christs spiritual words.

When a calvinist is asked HOW a person is saved...the reply is always elusive.
Why?
Because they hate to say that a person can do nothing to save themselves because it's
God that is going to choose who is saved and who is damned.
Even to them this must sound horrible.

And, as you correctly pointed out:
The gospel means, simply, the good news.
And what is the good news?
God, being a JUST GOD, will offer to EVERY PERSON the opportunity to be saved.
Plenty of verses on this.

Just 2 requirements:
1. Believe in Jesus/God.
2. Obey Him.
