Give a reason why John 12:42 is not evidence that belief alone is not evidence of being born again. That doesnt make sense
dont need to, you just made a off the wall comment, worthless. Believers may experience times of weakness and fear, Peter was a believer but in a time of weakness denied Christ. Does that mean he wasnt born again ? NoGive a reason why John 12:42 is not evidence that belief alone is not evidence of being born again.
They believed in Jesus yet were not born again.
You do need to if you are going to convince me you are right.dont need to, you just made a off the wall comment, worthless. Believers may experience times of weakness and fear, Peter was a believer but in a time of weakness denied Christ. Does that mean he wasnt born again ? No
It's easy; the demons believed and trembled. Their belief was not evidence they were Saved...You do need to if you are going to convince me you are right.
You must explain why those Jews who believed in Jesus yet were not saved does not disprove your belief that belief is evidence of being born again.
Nothing off the wall about my question.
I'm using a perfect Biblical example that shows error in your reasoning.
The demons are not men. It's easy; the demons believed and trembled. Their belief was not evidence they were Saved...
It's a waste of time to argue about it...

The "Prince Hall Freemasons" honored Joe, but it doesn't mean he joined or accepted a certificate. It has long been prohibited for Catholics to join the Freemasons and a grave sin.The following might go a way to explain his policies over event times...View attachment 58144

Agreed on all.Belief is 1st and foremost as is faith
Repentance is required (Acts 2:38)
Confession of your belief (ref. The Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8, and Rom 10:8-10)
Baptism, water immersion, for remission is sins (Acts 2:38)
It was an off the wall comment, believing in Christ is still an evidence of one having been born againYou do need to if you are going to convince me you are right.

You the spammer, you calm downPosting to you is being a spammer?

You should calm down BF.
And t ake what you espouse seriously and reply to members that wish to engage.
Instead of calling them spammers.....
(which has a very specific meaning on these forums).
I can't go all the way back so I'm just responding to the above. The demons are not men.
John 12 :42 you have men who are believers yet unsaved.
This disproves the doctrine that belief is proof of salvation.
There are going to be many that believe but will be shocked on judgment because they were taught belief alone equates to salvation.
Matthew 7:21
…and we know that belief is through FAITH in Christ. Jesus paid the price so that the lost could be cleansed and justified upon repentance. The demons are not men.

Technically, none of the disciples were born again until Pentecost came and then they were baptized by the Holy Spirit.dont need to, you just made a off the wall comment, worthless. Yes and No; they were first Indwelt at Pentecost, but before this Jesus said Nicodemus needed to be Born Again...Technically, none of the disciples were born again until Pentecost came and then they were baptized by the Holy Spirit.
Of course, belief cannot be just an empty proclamation, belief in Christ means you obey Him, die to yourself and follow Him.Matthew 7:21
21“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
That was a teaching for Him and for everyone, a spiritual state that had not yet been realized. He was preparing Nicodemus, who I believe when Pentecost came, was eventually born again. Nicodemus was a Pharisee, but a secret believer, which is why he met Jesus at night - a bit skeptical and not wanting to draw attention to himself yet until he was sure.Yes and No; they were first Indwelt at Pentecost, but before this Jesus said Nicodemus needed to be Born Again... among
I agree Ronald.Of course, belief cannot be just an empty proclamation, belief in Christ means you obey Him, die to yourself and follow Him.
Concerning this verse ...
Right.Matthew's gospel is clearly written for a Jewish Christian audience living within the immediate proximity of the homeland itself. The Book of Matthew is the most Jewish of all the gospels.
Correct!MATTHEW opens with a geneology, pointing the Jews to their Messiah based on their history. Throughout their nation, Jewish Christians continued to meet on the Sabbath, but also met on the Lord's Day, more popular for the Gentiles.
It's a good interpretation Ronald. The point is, when Judgment Day comes, Jews who did not have a relationship with Jesus, who were not born again, will use that argument ...
Matthew 7:22-23 says, "On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness'".
Interesting catch....Think about this passage. Gentiles, folks of other religions or no religion would not make that claim.
Amen.So Jews _ who did not receive Christ _ did not do the will of the Father, which is to believe in Christ.
Right.Jews, who lived under His Law and their generations _ for thousands of years _ may try to reason with Him. "We did this, we did that ... why can't we get into heaven?"
Now, faithful Jews before Christ's 1st Coming did believe in the Messiah. Those who lived by faith, Christ's righteousness is imputed to them. But when He came, only a remnant believed it was actually Him, the rest did not and remained lost.
I'll have to say here that I believe Nicodemus was born again after he met Jesus.According to Romans 11, a remnant population of the Jews will be saved when He comes, but not all.
That was a teaching for Him and for everyone, a spiritual state that had not yet been realized. He was preparing Nicodemus, who I believe when Pentecost came, was eventually born again.
Correct.Nicodemus was a Pharisee, but a secret believer, which is why he met Jesus at night - a bit skeptical and not wanting to draw attention to himself yet until he was sure.
Belief alone never guarantees salvation in the Bible. It was an off the wall comment, believing in Christ is still an evidence of one having been born again
