Justice Sotomayor looking real bad at the inaguration, it appears her type 1 diabetes is catching up with her, she was diagnosed as a child with type 1 she is presently 70 living on borrowed time as the average life expectancy is 68 for women

In the YouTube clip attached justice Sotomayor can be seen infront of Justice Elena Kagan at 1:30

Does Type 1 Diabetes Shorten Life Expectancy

Even though medical advancements have improved outcomes for people with type 1 diabetes, the disease still shortens life expectancy by about 12 years. The average life expectancy for people with type 1 diabetes is reduced from 77 to 66 for men and 81 to 68 for women.

I don't really understand wanting to live a longer life here on earth, the sooner I depart this earth the better. My mother in law had diabetes all her life and she lived till she was 84. You just never know, but hey, she could have possibly lived till she was over a 100 huh?

I knew a man who worked out and ate well all his life and died at 54 of a heart attack and women who ate crappy and smoked unfiltered cigarettes and lived to 98 years old.

What type of diabetes did your mother in law have type 1 or 2?

Insulin injections daily, Type 1 is hard on the body, short life expectancy on average

Did you take time to look at the video clip, Justice Sotomayor is failing "Fast" looking bad, will she make it four more years time will tell?

My mother in law had had diabetes type 1 (so yes, she used insulin injections). She had actually lost weight (26 lbs) on Dr Bergs diet (which when she lived with us) I prepared for her/us (which was the low carb/keto diet).

She was staying with us while her home was being built for both her and her other son's family in another state (thats where she was to stay permanently). But she stayed with us for nearly a year. I watched her progress even with Diabetes 1 and she was able to reduce her injections even during that time.

I tell you this because there was something about her medicare coverage that she could not be out of the state she lived in for over 6 months (for whatever reason, I do not know) and her home was taking longer than they anticipated to build, so we had to fly her back to her home state just so she could set foot on it to keep her coverage (or something to that effect, it made no sense). And while she was there she visited her doctor, who was amazed when he saw her and tested her and said, whatever you are doing keep it up! He said, may I ask what you have been doing? And she told him my daughter in law (which was me) has me on a diet by a Dr Berg.

After he heard that he told her, "No no no, you cannot be on that quackery" and introduced all sorts of doubts into her mind about it (even though he himself just praised the results he was seeing in her). When she returned to us she looked concerned that she should not be on it, although she doubted her doctor for the first time because she felt so much better, lost weight, had more energy and was taking far insulin and her blood glucose levels were so much better than they were before.

Thanks for the response, I agree that the carnivore diet has seen wonders, it's helped me

How long did your mother in law live to be?

You know Truth7t7, I was on that Keto diet for 2 years (so I really hung in there and gave it a long go of it) and then ended up on carnivore (to remove the presence of all carbs) and did that for 6 months (I cannot eat ribeyes to this day). But again, I didnt really lose weight on either of them so much as I stopped gaining. So I dont know what to make of either these diets as far as for myself. Although I will say, I felt much stronger on the carnivore diet.

But the Keto diet worked beautifully for my mother in law. And I did it with her, so both of us were on the same diet and she (being inactive) lost weight whereas I (a little more active) pretty much remained the same (with the obvious allowable exception of what I just count as water weight).

My mother in law lived to the age of 84 (as I posted in the first post, you might have missed it). And her late husband was also a diabetic who had lived to 70 but he died in a car crash (not from diabetes).

Many have thought Sotomayor should have retired awhile ago. Apparently it's not that easy to choose health over power.

She looks very tired there. She should be home and taking care of herself.

I heard she was pressured to retire so Biden could nominate her replacement. Staunchly opposed, she's unwittingly set up Trump for the privilege.

While we are on the subject, Thomas and Alito, big time Conservatives, are getting up there.

Thanks for the response, that all meat diet works for me, it's the carb laden brownies, cakes, cinnamon rolls, my wife makes intentionally to ruin me that's the bad point, who dosent love a crunchy piece of sourdough bread or a hot sweet cinnamon roll with pecans dripping with butter?

All the ribeye you don't want I'll eat, I do mainly lean 90/10 hamburger, chicken, lean pork, egg whites, and I catch tons of cod rock fish in the ocen for the fridge, a little smoked salmon in the mix "Great"

I have long lasting strength on the meat, and lose weight twice as quick, cut the carbs and good to go

Just be aware, your brain needs carbs for proper function.

Are you following the Atkins diet?

No I'm following my own, I still have a few carbs, but it use to be 70% of my diet, pizza, pasta, potatoes, rice, home made bread, etc

I would say it's like 80% meats and 20% carbs now?

Good for you! This sounds like its really working out for you, I so wish it did for me. My husband would only eat ribeyes, chicken thighs and whole eggs and bacon, but no fish or pork, or hamburger on it. I honestly hate making different meals for each of us. I used to do that when we were both younger and far more fitter. So I just flip flopped between the chicken, eggs and ribeyes but got so tired of it after 6 months (and very little results) tha I couldnt remain on it. But I do cook a mean ribeye, I thought there is no way I could tire of them (but I did).

Heres how AI put it

Brain in Ketosis and Zero Carbs

When the brain is in ketosis and on a zero-carb diet, it primarily uses ketones as an energy source. Ketones are molecules produced by the liver from fatty acids when carbohydrate intake is very low. The brain can use ketones for up to 75% of its energy needs, with the remaining 25% coming from glucose produced by the liver through a process called gluconeogenesis.
Gluconeogenesis involves the liver creating glucose from non-carbohydrate sources such as amino acids, glycerol, and lactate. This process ensures that parts of the brain that require glucose for function continue to receive the necessary energy, even when carbohydrate intake is minimal.
Research indicates that ketosis can have several benefits for brain health, including improved cognitive function and memory in individuals with mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease. However, transitioning to a ketogenic diet can sometimes lead to temporary cognitive issues, often referred to as “keto flu,” which can include brain fog. This is typically a short-term adaptation phase and can be mitigated by ensuring adequate hydration, electrolyte intake, and gradual adjustment to the diet.

I agree 100%, they just won't let go of the power, Ruth Ginsberg was a prime example, dying a few months before Bidens inauguration, this allowed president Trump to replace her with Justice Barrett

True. These examples in SCOTUS and the Legislative branch are why there should be trrmimits for all three branches. Not just one.

God has put His favor on Donald Trump. If you haven't noticed, the timing worked out for the supreme court replacement and will again. The country as a whole is behind Trumps positions of common sense that has been abandoned by multiple presidents. We shouldn't be giving money to countries that hate us. I believe we should get out of the United Nations also and kick them out of NY, because hardly any nation supports the USA.. Same as WHO, they lined their own pockets and did nothing. Drill baby drill, drive those oil prices down.

Very well said!

Trump is the master negotiator. You want something from the US, the US wants something from you. This is capitalism, value for value.

Yes, countries around the world have been taking advantage of our nations STUPID/CORRUPT public servants for decades. That has come to an end. They’ll agree to give what we want because it’s still worth it to them. Common sense. Columbia showed that today!
