Strong winds still in the region.

I was thinking they should rebuild with fire resistant homes. Buildings that wind blown embers can't set on fire.

No exposed burnable materials on buildings.
No roof shingles that can burn, no rubber membrane roofs that can burn. no tar products.
No sidings that can burn
no window frames that can burn

Yes, inside can burn, but these fires are being spread by glowing embers on the winds.

You have to build with materials appropriate for the risks of an area.

They make metal shingles, cement siding materials, metal window and door frames, this is possible.

I saw on the news that the cement or stucco homes in Malibu are still there. Everything else gone.

Some homes have a certain type of shingle roof that's good for fires. But I think the embers got under the edge of the roofs.

One man said he had bought those sprinklers that wave back and forth. He put a couple on his roof and then evacuated. His home is still standing but all the neighbors' homes are gone.

Keep ignoring the fact that the reservoir's were empty to save fish and the hydrants had no water preventing firemen from having the basic tool to do their job, which displays rank incompetence of the highest order! I live in Los Angeles...we did have extremely strong winds, hurricane like. We haven't had winds like that since 2011. The water dropping and flame retardant dropping aircraft were not able to fly.

Also, sheets of embers were flying sideways for up to a couple of miles away due to the strong winds so that started more fires.

• A man has been arrested in the Woodland Hills area of Los Angeles on suspicion of arson. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has yet to verify whether it is connected with the Kenneth Fire raging in the area.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of arson in the Woodland Hills area of Los Angeles, near the Kenneth Fire currently spreading toward the Hidden Hills and Calabasas.


Previously an officer told media that an individual had been arrested for intentionally starting the Kenneth Fire.

Speaking to NewsNation Charles Dinsel, a senior lead officer in the LAPD, said: "What we know right now is that the incident occurred, started here, and about 20 minutes [to] 30 minutes later a suspect was detained over the Woodland Hills area by citizens."


When asked if someone had "purposefully" set the fire Dinsel confirmed: "That's what we believe, yes."

As a result, the site of the Kenneth Fire is now being treated as a crime scene, Dinsel added.

However, following the interview sources at the LAPD have refused to confirm whether the Woodland Hills arrest is in connection to the Kenneth Fire.

Fortune contacted the LAPD for comment outside of business hours but did not receive a response.

The Kenneth Fire is one of six ravaging the West Coast state, claiming the lives 10 people and destroying thousands of homes, community sites and businesses.

The Kenneth Fire broke out on Thursday evening and was 0% contained as of 9 p.m. ET on January 9 over a 960-acre span.

The northern most fire, Lidia, is now 75% contained and is no longer a California Fire incident, Cal Fire reports.

The two biggest blazes currently are the Palisades Fire and the Eaton Fire.

The former has destroyed homes in areas like Malibu—home to a host of celebrity properties—as well as Palisades itself. Evacuation orders for this blaze have also been issued down into Santa Monica.

The Eaton Fire is raging through areas such as Altadena and Mount Wilson, with evacuation orders issued for parts of Pasadena and Glendale.


Alongside the loss to human life the financial costs of the fires are continuing to soar higher.

Private forecaster AccuWeather has reevaluated its damage estimate because of the infernos to between $135 billion and $150 billion—up from $52 billion to $57 billion just a day earlier.

AccuWeather's chief meteorologist Jonathan Porter said: "This is going to be ... probably the top wildfire in modern Californian history in terms of destruction and damage and total economic loss."

While it remains unclear if the individual arrested on suspicion of arson is facing charges relating to the Kenneth Fire, Los Angeles district attorney Nathan Hochman is ready to heavily prosecute any individual found guilty of a crime of such magnitude.

Speaking to NewsNation, Hochman said: "We are going to look at all the causes of each one of the fires to determine whether or not it was natural or man-made and intentional.


"The crime of arson will land you in prison for years, especially if you have any level of criminal background, it could literally land you in prison for years. The restitution loan that you will owe will probably cripple you financially for the rest of your life.

"We will send that message unmistakably clear to anyone that's out there even now because we hear that people look at these situations and for some sick reason want to go ahead and add to the fires that Los Angeles county are fighting. If they are even thinking of that we want them to understand what the consequences of their actions will be."

"Justice will be swift," Hochman added. "It will be firm and the maximum punishment will be sought."

I have a hard time believing that it was one guy, lol.

When the government makes contrails it is releasing some form of powdered aluminum into the atmosphere, and sourthern Cali is no exception to contrails. One of the things that microscopic aluminum does to the atmosphere is it increases the atmospheres conductivity so that Lightning flows more and stronger over a wider area. They found documents from the government that speak of using forest fires to wage war and they did a bunch of studies on it.

I've always thought that Hollywood is a branch of the government. Just found out that a family who lost their home are known to me and my children. The wife use to live opposite us and grew up with my children. Her and her husband are foster parents in LA. She has had so much grief over the years, lost her parents when they were quite young. The home they lost was the home her husband had grown up in, all they had time to grab were wedding photos and their dog.

This wind is very unusual for this time of year. So were there in fact chemtrails intended to intitiate a strong temperature driven wind?

First, major reductions in fire fighting capabilities. Then, chemtrails, big wind, followed by multiple arsonists across LA.

It does make one wonder!

They was talking about the wind some in that video. The high wind is some sort of by product of their process to instigate bad weather somehow and they were researching how to use forest fires as a weapon, so they just took that part in stride I think.

LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — A 60-year-old woman has been arrested for an alleged arson in Los Angeles County on Wednesday, according to a report.

Gloria Lynn Mandich alleged started a fire near Leo Carrillo State Park in Los Angeles County, the Acorn newspaper reported, citing California State Parks as the source of the information.

Mandich is being held at the Todd Road Jail in Santa Paul in lieu of $20,000 bail.

She faces a felony charge of recklessly causing a fire of a structure or forest, and she’s due to appear in Ventura County Superior Court Friday afternoon.

I thought people were calling jet exhaust "chemtrails" I lived close to airports and saw the Jet exhaust turn to clouds. I think it is normal as a car. No, there are the normal contrails, and then there are the chemtrails. The contrails follow normal flight patterns, the chemtrails criss-cross across the sky.

There was another forum I was on some years ago. Chemtrails were occuring all over the world, as reported by the various members. Then there was particular week we all noticed that they had all stopped, all over the world.

Analysis of residue on the ground after chemtrail spraying has revealed several different kind of metallic particles, among other substances.

I remember very well the chemtrails in my area, how they started, were happening daily for months, then stopped. Since then I've seen them from time to time, always the same criss cross pattern.
