Honestly, I just try to do well and make things comfortable and try to be hospitable, but it's @SERVANTedu and his encouragement and support towards what I do, his spiritual guidance, kindness and his relaxed attitude that makes me want to do good and feel comfortable.

I don't really think that there is really any formula. The rest is outlined in Proverbs 31, but he makes it easy, so it's easy.

Thanks. Is he your husband?

I wouldn’t have got through my married years without the Lord, and I tried my best to do the right thing. However my husband, who was a non believer ( I came to faith three years into my marriage ) kind of used my faith a bit, especially the forgiveness part. We only survived for 27years, my forgiveness just could no longer take the affairs. At the end of his life he did say that I was the best ex wife - he had had endless relationships by then and had many ex partners but they were revengeful at times, I didn’t take that path.
Being a Christian wife was hard going at times, but I will always be eternally grateful that I had The Lord with me for those 27years, and for the years that followed as I became an ex wife x

@NotTheRock Before @SERVANTedu I had a really hard time with even stepping into a relationship. At all. I actually told him no. I said I wasn't ready for a relationship and didn't plan to be with anyone and he said, "That's okay, I'll wait for you."

Why I was so complicated about it, I don't know, both of us had prayed for each other a week before. I guess I was trying to be careful.

I didn't want to get involved with a Christian man because frankly I was afraid of them. Right before him, there was this big culture with these trad wives and this separate class of chauvenistic Christian men who might as well been 50s mob brutes.

They just constructed the whole identity of their relationship to be domineering disciplinarians, "this woman belongs to me and she'll serve me until she dies becuse I pay her rent because God said so," type.

I'd rather die a lonely cat lady.

These are the same men who get mad when the star role in a movie says all these romantic lines and says, "This sets women up for disappointment it's totally unrealistic," then swoon over trad wives on TikTok.

Fortunately, I'd prayed about this before and told God, "I'm deathly afraid of your Christian men and I don't want to ever love anyone ever again."

So God gave me the example of what I didn't know Christian men were meant to be.

Why do you worship God and want to please God? Why do you want to honor him? What makes you fall in love with Christ?

Because he's a good God and because he loved you first. Right? Because God gives you grace and takes care of you. So give other people the same grace you worship God for.

So one must be born again to be a legitimate Christian? Is this biblical?
It is necessary to have passed from death to life, yes....and to have been translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. Being born of the Spirit is necessary to belong to Christ ("if any have not the Spirit they are none of His")......which means being adopted into the family of God through receiving the Spirit of adoption, by which we call God our Father. Nominal believers may call themselves Christians and be called Christian by others, but that is really in name only (which is what nominal means).

Let's cut to the chase. Show me in the Bible that one can only be considered a follower of Christ by being born again. No more dissertations, please, God's word!

John 3:3
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Romans 14:17
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

One cannot be in right standing with the Lord... unless they are born again.

So one can follow the devil and be a "christian"?

Sadly this is exactly what the majority of those today are doing that claim to be Christians

They follow a different jesus and another gospel... all because they go by what religious organizations tell them to believe instead of what God's Word teaches.

So, let here your scripture on what you think being a Christian is....

Were you talking about my post? It is God's word that I brought. I just edited it to underline what came directly from scripture if you want to take a second look. Ask me if you want me to get the exact chapter & verses for you.

No. But she may well be a believer or a churchgoer though.

@Pearl says that one must be "born again" in order to be called a "Christian". I am asking for biblical support of that doctrine.
