What does it mean to you?
How do you decorate?
How do you celebrate it?
Who do you celebrate it with?
What kind of meal do you have?
Any meal advice or secrets?

Remembering Christ's birth, doing a little decorating which brings me cheer (love the lights and especially my little plush snowmen). Good memories of Christmas growing up in Pennsylvania.

Live in California but still love Winter scenes.

Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus. I don't decorate. I just enjoy what has always been a day off from work (though I'm retired now). I celebrate it alone, since I live alone. I will pick out a special TV dinner to eat on Christmas day. Can't think of any meal advice or secrets, except try to eat healthy on Christmas day.

What does it mean to you?

Celebration of the Birth of Jesus

How do you decorate?

I only decorate the Gifts that i wrap.

I have a small Christmas Tree with Lights on it..., that is always being displayed.

I like to explain to people that Jesus is the "Light of the world".. who "Hung on a Tree for the sin of us all".

That is why you have Lights on a CHRISTmas Tree.

How do you celebrate it?

Worshipfully

Who do you celebrate it with?

Anyone who shows up.

What kind of meal do you have?

That really depends from year to year.
Its changes.

Any meal advice or secrets?

The amount of food you prepare, needs to be greater then the direct proportion of the number of people you invited, as its always good to have more food ready to go....than you thought you would need to prepare,.

I am pretty lucky at finding people that are alone on Christmas and not just me. Outdoorsy neighborhood, yard sales, barbeques in the drive ways. Motorized carts drive around and talking to people.

So people that are alone are invited over for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years to eat and watch football and a little Bible talk….We are lucky that I live in a sociable neighborhood. No one alone and no one going here.

I don't necessarily live in a sociable neighborhood - I am rather introverted, perhaps - but I live in a senior complex where the neighbors don't cause much trouble. That is a real blessing.

Not trying to be critical, but what does being alone getcha? And that is a legitimate question. What will it get you? What will it get you in the end? Even if you want to be alone….how will it end?

It is one of the reasons that I say Christians should go to Church and get involved with Church activities, plays, trips, dinners and whatever maintenance to the Church. Church home group studies.

God Bless

I'm never alone - the Lord is always with me. I do some ministry:

I spend Monday mornings at the church, 7:15-12:00, or so, doing a number of things. First, I stock the five restrooms and candlesticks, pick up the trash on our 2.5 acre corner lot, help unload the trucks for the food pantry and often help in stocking the food pantry, and then spend the rest of the morning helping out with maintenance chores for our 65-year-old property and the parsonage.

I'm on the church visitation team, so I visit our seniors. I attend church regularly. I'm in the music ministry where I sing and play my guitar with some talented musicians, and sometimes write Christians songs. (Linda Young and I have recently made two CDs of Christians songs we've written. Go to YouTube and search "Linda Young and Bob Estey," and most of the songs should pop up for you.)

I just served two years on the board of directors of our 56-unit apartment cooperative, which involved a lot of work since we don't hire a management company, and now I've volunteered to serve in the Circle of Life organization which serves people receiving hospice care. During the this political campaign I was a precinct captain and made 965 telephone calls asking fellow Republicans to get out and vote.

So you are active with Christians, that is great.
You had me at spending holidays alone.

Its NOT a religious holiday nor is dec 25 the birthday of the Lord, so, it means nothing to me religiously. Just another day

It is a very religious and holy day to me. A special time with the family. A special day of worship.
But it probably not Christ’s birthday, just the day we celebrate it on.
But I am fine with you not celebrating Christmas. Do you celebrate any holidays?
