Access to free health care would be huge sticking point with most Canadians.

There has been a brain-drain and money drain going on for years already, with talent and money leaving Canada for the USA. I think it's going to get worse now that the Liberals are in charge yet again. Many already had made preparations ahead of this election to safeguard their assets from the Liberals, and have their feet on both sides of the border already. Gee, even Carney. At this rate there wont' be much of a Canada left to carve up, mostly only us peasants and a lot of third world immigrants.

Didn't western culture and its ideas on life in general come from Christianity and the bible? "Culture" of nations seems to be determined by the beliefs of the people, generally, from what I can see.

I am thinking more near term culture withing the last 400 years or so, which was English based western Christianity and ideas. Actually, the protestants reformation, not Catholicism shaped our common culture and thoughts.

Certainly much more light and freedom came with the reformation, I agree. Our laws and ideas of right and wrong in general have been based on biblical laws. Even the English language is full of expressions and idioms from the bible, which people nowadays don't realize. I read a long time ago something about how even things like western science and engineering has been based on and influenced by the bible....I can't remember a single detail about it unfortunately, or where I read it, just that general idea.
