What I do with them is hear them and put them on the shelf. I have no way of verifying the truth of stories of this nature.....knowing that folk are prone to exaggerate, to dream up things, to lie and so on.

Oh that's nuts. Everybody can't be lying.

Its pretty simple if you don't have faith Jesus can't help you - your on your own to raise yourself up and forgive your own sins to get to heaven or your not going.Good luck.

Hello @PGS11

Jesus death, burial, and resurrection has covered the sins of mankind. Whether you believe this or not is up to you. I’m able to tell an atheist their sins have been forgiven because of Jesus, whether or not they believe that is up to them.

Unbelief is just another way and form of simply not acknowledging God as the one whom is faithful; and then being faithful in other means towards themselves; nature; or even other gods perhaps. People even in religious circles and practices become faithful in other means than towards God.

It reminds me of the people in the temple who believed on Jesus but where to afraid to say so because they would have been kicked out of the temple and in those days he was around they didn’t worship God; they worshipped the Law. Some peoples did seek to worship God in spirit and in truth but very little.

Some people become burned by religion and seek for other things than the living God becoming unbelieving.

Hello @MA2444,

I don’t trust every story I hear either. I’m kind of like qt on those matters because they are so subjective. Sometimes I’ve had dreams that seem like they were reality. I can’t sometimes tell the difference because some dreams from my childhood seem like true memories but it could be just a dream.

Not all of us believe in Universalism I can understand you thoughts on it.If we were all condemned universally maybe we are all saved universally that certainly would be nice but the bible does not say that. There are truly evil people in the world how do you account for them? The absolute evil going on is beyond words in this world.

Hello @PGS11,

I don’t believe in universalism. There is only one way to the Father and that is by his Son, his sent Word. It’s just what Jesus did. He paid for the sins of the whole world. It’s simply what the Bible entails; it doesn’t mean I believe in universalism.

All people do good or bad; some people love darkness more than the light.

Jesus said there would be a resurrection of condemnation.

Like I said, I put them on the shelf.
In my 50 odd years as a believer I have the benefit of looking back over HOW I have believed and WHAT I have believed.

In my early years being gullible to various points of view was not recognised and stories like the one you have presented were easily taken onboard.

Experience, particularly in knowing people and their ways, has given perspective.....and sad to say, most are full of sh.t but don't know it. They are no doubt sincere yet in my view have restricted, even distorted understandings. I have also learned they are nonetheless loved as am I.

Jesus' directive of being wise as serpents and harmless as doves has unmitigated value for me.

I don't believe every testimony I hear. I'm pretty good about being able to tell if someone is lying or not and there are aspects of testimonies that do ring true or dont ring true.

Hello @MA2444,

Okay. I’m just thankful for some of the promises of Yahavah that applies for us today, such as him never leaving or forsaking us, and many others. There is some merit to those things in my opinion.
