We have to obey Jesus' commandments to remain in him. There is no salvation outside of him.
If I obey Jesus' commandments for the purpose of remaining in him, then it's because I believe in Jesus and what he said, and am obeying out of faith.
If I repent, believe, and confess Jesus to be saved because of what Jesus said, then it's because I believe him and am obeying out of faith.
I think you need to study the New Covenant more deeply. It is a covenant of faith and works, just as the Old Covenant was. The only differences for us are the actual laws; the letter vs the Spirit.
Faith without works is dead.
Dear FeartheLord,
Mankind, being carnally minded, as
no ability whatsoever to have faith in Christ or to follow God's commandments. I presented you some of the scriptures which say so. If mankind had those abilities, the Old Covenant of Law would have been able to make a person righteous before God - but it could not.
When you say that we have to obey Jesus, that is true. But because mankind has no ability to obey Jesus, Jesus will come to each person who has ever lived and freely give them the Spirit. With the indwelling Spirit of God within a person,
they will have faith in Christ and will obey God- it happens no other way.
Phil 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
A person's faith and ability to obey God (salvation) is
caused by Christ. The person has nothing from which they can boast about concerning their salvation.
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Since Satan's false gospel requires certain works from a person to
earn or to
receive their "free gift" of salvation, the apostate Christian will believe that they have something they can boast about to others who are not saved. The apostate believer will believe that they are smarter, wiser or just not as evil as those who reject Christ. This is the definition of a self-righteous Christian - one to whom Christ will say "I never knew you".
After Christ gives a person the Spirit (both the Early and Latter Rains) and has judged them, they will be born again as a child of God. Only the child of God can have faith in Christ and the ability to obey God. Mankind will never have those abilities. For this reason, Christ will make mankind into a "new creation" who will be like Him in every way. This is mankind's salvation and it is a free gift from God because of His grace. Mankind's salvation is accomplished solely by the work of Christ. It is for this purpose that God the Father sent Christ into the world.
1John 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.
Since mankind's salvation happens by the work of Christ, all mankind will be saved. If Christ failed to save even one person, He would "miss the mark" that the Father set for Him - and that would be a sin.
God is the one who decides
when Christ will do His work of conversion within each person. The person has no say in the matter.
Rom 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Rom 9:11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth.
Eph 1:4 According as HE hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
To believe that mankind can contribute anything toward their own salvation (includes having faith) is to believe in "works". When a "babe" believes this lie, they are mixing the Old Wine with the New Wine. When they do this mixing, it will bite them like a serpent and will spiritually kill them.
Prv 23:29 Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? 30 They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. 31 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. 32 At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.
You said:

The Old Covenant is based on the works of mankind. The New Covenant is based on the works of Christ. The two covenants should NOT be mixed together as you are doing. When a believer does this mixing, they are committing the one and only sin that leads to death. This mixing of works is the foundation of the false gospel of Satan. It is how Satan (the serpent) spiritually kills the saints and builds his apostate church.
Have you ever considered this scripture below:
Isa 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts (a converted believer). 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: 11 For with stammering lips and another language (spiritual language) will he speak to this people. 12 But the word of the LORD was unto them (the babes who draw milk) precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken (by Satan).
Since all believers begin the pathway to salvation as a
babe who draws milk, all believers will become apostate. It cannot be avoided.
Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Acts 20:29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. 31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
Christ also teaches what happens to babes (new believers) in the scripture below:
Mat 12:43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. 44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. 45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself SEVEN other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
The spiritual symbol of an unclean spirit represents a spirit which teaches Satan's false truth through lies and deceptions.
Since a new believer remains
spiritually blind (
Mark 8:21-25) after receiving the Early Rain of the Spirit, they cannot replace their worldly false beliefs with the truth of Christ. ONE unclean spirit leaves but comes back with SEVEN more. The number "seven" represents perfection. In this case, the number seven represents the perfection of Satan's lies/deceptions which come to a believer by the indwelling of the spirit of anti-Christ. Now, instead of ONE unclean spirit within the believer, they now have EIGHT. The number eight is a spiritual symbol which represents a
new spiritual condition. In this case, the new spiritual condition is
worse than the first.
This "worse than the first" spiritual condition causes the believer to become a
False Prophet, a
Man of Sin, a
Minister of Satan and a
Seven Headed Beast with Ten Horns & Crowns.
Unless a person has seen the Abomination of Desolation and understands that it happened within themselves, they are
not converted.
