In the Bible one nugget of wisdom is shown again and again and that is don’t be a foolish person who ignores the wisdom of others.

Proverbs 12:15
15 Fools think their own way is right,
but the wise listen to advice.

Proverbs 19:20
20 Listen to advice and accept instruction,
that you may gain wisdom for the future.

Proverbs 18:13
13 If one gives answer before hearing,
it is folly and shame.

Proverbs 1:22
22 “How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple?
How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing
and fools hate knowledge?

Fools often say things that show just how uneducated they are. For example it’s foolish to ignore biblical scholars as being people who hates the Bible, yet someone who does not speak or read Hebrew, Aramaic or Greek will trust in the scholars translations of the Bible. Fools are people who don’t understanding ancient near eastern and Ancient Greek culture and so instead they read a English translation of the Bible through American, Australian or or some other modern eyes and so they confuse what they are reading with their own understanding of culture. Fools are simply foolish because they hate wisdom and they hate learning from others who are experts because they love their own interpretation of the Bible and to cover up their hatred, ignorance and arrogance they say think like “ god told me” or I had a dream/vision/conviction that I’m right and they are wrong. Fools think that the Bible is a simple text that even a kid can understand it.

Normally these same fools who misuse their handling of the Bible also ignore the wisdom of experts outside of the Bible such as with science or world events. They are recognized by calling everything they disagree with as “fake” or “satanic” without being able to defend anything in depth.

Beware of the fools. Especially the hate filled wolves in sheep clothing highly bigoted fools.

is it only others that fall into this category?

I'll give you an example of willful ignorance within the Christian community.

The Bible says that we should only have one master because we will love one and dislike the other. We'll, this is true because common sence will tell you this also. Now most people on this forum love to talk about man's law and politics neglecting the fact that they are choosing man as their master over God. Man's law, politics and the rest are simply systems of control which put a direct threat onto our freedom and the law of God.

Control is the opposite of freedom.

Now, you will find most people here being willfully ignorant of this fact. Because they are brainwashed and are addicted to the idea of politics, man's law and control.

Anyone who takes 2 seconds to rationalise this will understand that this is true but unfortunately people want to continue to believe that trump actually cares about who gets an abortion or not.

This is willful ignorance. And it's satanic.

I like this topic because I have wrestled with foolishness a lot.

The fool laughs at the Devil and says "If what you say is true, that there is no god, then you are left without praise" but the Devil says "If what I say is true, and you have believed me, you have no god". See how the fool is ensnared?

The problem is that correcting a fool is only a little wise, making sure that the fool continues to be corrected begins to be wise enough.

I think in the end, the fool learns to trust God, but he doesn't know why and then he reaches the afterlife and is no more.

The fool represents the beggining of one's spiritual journey. He is unwise but free.

I'll trust what Jesus tells me over any scholar or preacher, or teacher. The Holy Spirit guides you to all truth. That's why I tossed all my commentaries, because they (commentary writers) went to the same schools and say the same things. Only the wisdom from the Holy Spirit dominates.
1 Corinthians 3:19 :
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As the Scriptures say,
“He traps the wise
in the snare of their own cleverness.
