I recall years ago democrats arguing that blanket pardons from a republican president wouldn't be invalid. Might have been Bush Era If they wanted to pardon many people it had to be done for each person.

So how can Hunter Biden be pardoned for undisclosed crimes from 2014-2024, seems that could be considered illegal. While the specific pardons for the crimes he was convicted of are legal.
