Is God responsible for what Satan does to you?
Can God stop Satan from doing things to you?
If Satan does something to you, does that mean God approved?
Is there something that we can do to prevent Satan from doing anything us?

These are questions I have received from people as young as ten years old to eighty years old.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4

What if you lay bleeding and dieing….in the valley of death? What does that mean?

It might mean to die is to gain and maybe it's time to go home?

God is not responsible for whathappens to you.
God can stop satan from doing things to you. Remember the book of Job? They have to go and ask permission to sift you and at times God allows it to test your faith and turn it into a learning experience for you.
It means God allows things to happen.

There is lots we can do to prevent satan from doing bad things to us! (Resist the devil and he will flee).

Is God responsible for what Satan does to you?

No.

We the believers are responsible to deal with the Devil.

We put on God's Armor.
WE fight the "good fight of faith".
We study the bible that is the "sword of the Spirit".
We fight on our Knees in prayer.

Also, there a anti-Cross cult that will teach you these lies..

1.) God causes all the Evil, and God determines if Satan can hurt you, and how much.

2.) If anything bad happens, and the Devil is the reason, then this is pre-destined by God to be your situation.

Learn to hear and resist these liars, ....and they will usually try to use JOB, as their twisted false theology, most of the time.

Answers from the Bible:
1) No.
2) Yes (Job 1 and 2, where he stops Satan from taking Job's life).
3) No, he doesn't "approve" of anything Satan does, but he permits Satan to attack Christians in order to enable us to grow in our faith.
4) Yes, put on God's armor and pray persistently (Ephesians 6:10-20).
5) If we're dying that valley, we're going to be with our divine, good Shepherd!

Answers from the Bible:
1) No.

Correct Answer

2) Yes (Job 1 and 2, where he stops Satan from taking Job's life).

We are not Job, we are CHRISTians, in the NT ""time of the Gentiles"", who are redeemed .

We exist in the Family of God, in the Favor of God, in the Love of God., in the Kingdom of God.

So, for God to allow us to be harmed by the devil, is the same as God allowing the Devil into Heaven to try to cause harm and death.

Thats a no.

3) No, he doesn't "approve" of anything Satan does, but he permits Satan to attack Christians in order to enable us to grow in our faith.

God allowing Satan to attack his Children, is like a PARENT causing a child molester to attack their kids.
God allowing CANCER on you is like you causing it to happen to your mother.

THe born again are the family of God, and God does not OFFER his Family to the Devil for a time of harm.

4) Yes, put on God's armor and pray persistently (Ephesians 6:10-20).

God does not allow the Devil to attack His born again Family.

The devil attacks God's family because the Devil Hates God, Hates Christ, and Hates and Hates .... as that is the devils, nature.

Its his REASON to exist.

Its out of the Devil's Hate for God, that he wanted to destroy ADAM, who was God's ultimate creation.

When those Jews were shouting.. "CRUCIFY HIM">.. .. that is the Devil's Choir, singing His song.

Whereas Now, the born again are become "one with God" and Satan wants us all dead, or ruined, or tortured, or similar.

Its his "ministry".. his JOY., his Purpose.

It was the Devil's WILL that Iran sent Hamas into Israel to butcher Jewish babies, burn them, and kill and rape and behead, and just be as savage as possible..
They are just doing what the Devil enjoys, as they belong to Him, so they enjoyed it.

5) If we're dying that valley, we're going to be with our divine, good Shepherd!

Suffering For God, is nothing more.

God does not accept us based on our willingness to suffer... He accepts us based on the Suffering that is the Blood and Death Sacrifice of Jesus.

I am an ordained minister and more of an Evangelist/speaker. And in my travels which includes five countries these are among the hardest questions I have received, sometimes coming from the youngest people.

And sometimes the questions get confused with the questions…
Can God heal you from illness?
Can God help you if bad things happen to you?
Can God prevent bad things from happening to you?
All of which may not involve Satan at all.
And the answer is yes to all these questions, I have seen it with my own eyes.

But the questions posed in this thread are about God and Satan.

2) and 3) Job is described as "blameless and upright, one who feared God and turned away from evil" (1:1). In other words, he was a true believer who looked forward to the coming of his Redeemer, the CHRIST (Job_19:25--"For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth."). I don't know about you, but I agree with Paul, who says that Satan is always attacking Christians and that we need to resist him through the Word of God and prayer (Ephesians 6:l0-20; James 4:7).
4) I don't understand you when in your first two sentences, you say that Satan is AND isn't attacking Christians. He's trying to attack me all the time as a former pastor and a present author. God uses those battles, which he has won every time, for his glory. For example, my late wife and I experienced the death of our second child, my seven years of major depression, and my three decades of chronic pain (my thorn in the flesh--a thorn from Satan, as Paul says). Then, she died very suddenly, all of which were Satan's attacks. It's Jesus' victory which I claim to defeat him.
5) You are right, but I didn't say that God accepts us because of our willingness to suffer. I said that when we die in the valley, we are going to be with our Shepherd.

No one know how God tests each one of us but he does it happening all through the bible.Who's causing the suffering - we are - who's doing the evil - we are.Even sickness can be caused by us with that absolute filth we have filled the environment with especially today with chemicals in everything. As a Christian you have the power to resist sin it starts in the mind and comes out of you as you act it out.You can stop at any point but YOU choose not to.Jesus has told you this himself listen to him. When have you sinned without thinking about it first?God does none of it we are in a fallen world in a fallen state don't ever forget that and try to blame it on God.Satan and his Angels has done this to us.

Be clearheaded. Keep alert. Your accuser, the devil, is on the prowl like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

The first four sentences are about Satan harming people.
Then I posted clarifying that some bad things may not be of Satan's doing.

I am so sorry for what is going on with you and your lose! I know how it feels I lost my son and I had a reaction to medication that took out my legs and put me in a lot of pain. But I am recovering.

Like I said, I am a speaker and one of the topics I cover when I am talking to congregations is how the church should respond to those that are suffering and or had a love one die. The church should put enough effort into it that those suffering feel the love of Christ. And usually when I do that the pastor team and some of the congregation talk to me after the service about the details.

1 NO, God is not responsible, God gave Satan freewill just as He did us.
2 Yes, but God may have His reasons for allowing this...Satan cannot do ANYTHING unless God allowed it. God may be punishing you or testing you as He allowed Job to be tested.
3 God doesnt 'approve' of it, not the way it sounds.......but as I said above God will permit it if He had a reason for allowing it

You are now on my prayer list, Grailhunter. God delivered me from seven years of major depression 14 years after Keith's death with a type of prayer that David, Job, and Jeremiah used but that is not in our culture, the lament. Seventy-three out of the 150 Psalms are at least part lament. After 8 1/2 months of lamenting Keith's death and other traumas in my life, I experienced the peace of God that's described in Philippians 4:6-7 and that persists after more than three decades. I recommend to anyone that kind of authentic prayer along with the five other kinds in the Bible.
