Isaiah 53:1
"Though he had done so many signs before them, yet they did not believe in him; it was that the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: 'Lord, who has believed our report, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?'” (John 12:37-38 RSV)
"But they have not all obeyed the gospel; for Isaiah says, 'Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?' So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes by the preaching of Christ." (Rom 10:16-17 RSV)

Isaiah 53:4-6
"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls." (1Pet 2:24-25 RSV)
"That evening they brought to him many who were possessed with demons; and he cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick. This was to fulfil what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, 'He took our infirmities and bore our diseases.'” (Matt 8:16-17 RSV)

Isaiah 53:7-8
"Now the passage of the scripture which he was reading was this: 'As a sheep led to the slaughter or a lamb before its shearer is dumb, so he opens not his mouth. In his humiliation justice was denied him. Who can describe his generation? For his life is taken up from the earth.' And the eunuch said to Philip, 'About whom, pray, does the prophet say this, about himself or about some one else?' Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this scripture he told him the good news of Jesus." (Acts 8:32-35 RSV)

Isaiah 53:9
"For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. He committed no sin; no guile was found on his lips." (1Pet 2:21-22 RSV)

Isaiah 53:12
"For I tell you that this scripture must be fulfilled in me, ‘And he was reckoned with transgressors’; for what is written about me has its fulfilment.” (Luke 22:37 RSV)
"And just as it is appointed for men to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him." (Heb 9:27-28 RSV)
"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed." (1Pet 2:24 RSV)

No Cross = No Salvation

Water baptism, need not apply.

And How do you know that Jesus finished your Salvation?

Its because from The Cross....... Jesus said.....>>>"IT...is finished (accomplished)"... Then He died.

So, what is Accomplished ?

What is "IT" ?

A.) Salvation.

See that?
You can't earn that, and you can't do that......yet forums and pulpits and congregations are filled with people who are trying to "stay saved".

I had a member here, a few days ago, tell me....>"YOU keep yourself saved"........as if Jesus, The Cross, and The Blood and Death of Jesus, is irrelevant.

Reader, noone who is born again, is trying to "stay saved", .. unless they dont understand Salvation.

Here is how to understand Salvation.

Jesus is Salvation
Jesus is Eternal Life
Jesus is Redemption
Jesus is the Blood Atonement
Jesus is the New Covenant
Jesus is the "only way to the Father is by me"..
Jesus is The Resurrection.

See all that?
And if you are born again, then JESUS is IN YOU, as "Christ in you the Hope of Glory" ("Glory" = is Heaven).

So, If Jesus is IN YOU....= then you have become The "temple of the Holy Spirit" and "Jesus is THAT Spirit".

If Jesus is IN YOU, then you are born again "IN Christ".......and are "ONE with God", and not just for the next few years.

Eternal LIFE = is not temporary..

Being BORN... again....... means you now posses Eternal Life, and the Power of the Resurrection, = because you are Eternally Connected : to The Blessed ONE who is both.

Rejoice in this "Good news".

I'm surprised you can make these wonderful connections between OT / NT and not see the wonder of the suffering Servant? And the prophecies concerning his promise?

How can you subscribe to this doctrine in your statement of faith?

That Jesus Christ is God is wonderfully and clearly expressed in the Scriptures. He is called the mighty God. lsa.9:6. That Word was God, John 1:1. Christ, who is God over all, Rom.9:5. God manifested in the flesh, 1 Tim.3:16. The same is very God, 1 John 5:20. He is the first, Rev.1:8. He gives being to all things, and without Him was nothing made, John 1:2. He forgiveth sins, Matt.9:6. He is before Abraham, John 8:58. He was and is, and ever will be the same, Heb.13:8. He is always with His to the end of the world, Matt.28:20. Which could not be said of Jesus Christ, if He were not God. And to the Son He saith, Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever, Heb.1:8. John 1:18. Also, Christ is not only perfectly God, but perfect man, made of a woman, Ga1.4:4. Made of the seed of David, Rom.1:3. Coming out of the loins of David, Acts 2:30. Of Jesse and Judah, Acts 13:23. In that the children were partakers of flesh and blood He Himself likewise took part with them, Heb.2:14. He took not on Him the nature of angels, but the seed of Abraham, verse 16. So that we are bone of His bone, and flesh of His flesh. Eph.5:30. So that He that sanctifieth, and they that are sanctified are all of one. Heb.2:11. See Acts 3:22; Deut.18:15 Heb.1:1.

Was your God numbered among the transgressors?

Surely not!

F2F, I do not follow you. What is it exactly that you find objectionable in my OP? I believe with all my heart that Jesus the Christ, is the Messiah, the Son of God incarnate. He is fully and surely Almighty God, Yahweh. I'm certainly orthodox as to my embracing of the Ecumenical Creeds, as they are based squarely on scripture.

After reading other posts of yours I now understand. You are an Arian holding to the heresy the body of Christ rejected at the start!

I'm questioning how you arrived at the red text when you seem to have a grasp of the Suffering Servant Prophecies in Isaiah.
If God is the "former" who was formed?

The Talmud says the 53rd of Isaiah refers to Messiah. (Sanhedrin 98)

The Targum of Jonathan begins it with the words Ha yatslakh avdee
Mashikha
which mean: Behold my servant the Messiah shall prosper.

Others believed the 53rd of of Isaiah speaks of the sufferings of Messiah,
e.g. Rabbi Moshe Kohen Ibn Crispin. (a.k.a. Ibn Krispin)

Rabbi Mosheh El-Sheikh (a.k.a. Alshekh) claimed: Our Rabbis with one voice
accept and affirm the opinion that the prophet [Isaiah] is speaking of King
Messiah.

So; not every Jew has, nor has had, difficulty labeling the righteous
servant spoken of in that chapter. Now as to whether Jesus of Nazareth is
the Messiah is another debate, but seeing Messiah in that chapter at all,
whoever he might be, makes for a good start.
