i.e., besides eternal life.

Paul wrote about true believers being judged by Jesus for eternal rewards.

However, it is not clear what exactly are these rewards and treasures,
Paul mentioned the crown of righteousness in 2 Timothy 4:

6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
Peter spoke of crown of glory in 1 Peter 5:

4 And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.
One use of crowns is found in Revelation 4:

10 the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne
Different people may receive different rewards, Matthew 16:

27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.
Whatever these eternal rewards might be, we only have one life to earn them. Don't waste your chance, Matthew 6:

20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal

”Now, brothers and sisters, I want you to remember the Good News I told you. You received that Good News message, and you continue to base your life on it. That Good News, the message you heard from me, is God’s way to save you. But you must continue believing it. If you don’t, you believed for nothing. I gave you the message that I received. I told you the most important truths: that Christ died for our sins, as the Scriptures say; that he was buried and was raised to life on the third day, as the Scriptures say; and that he appeared to Peter and then to the twelve apostles.

After that Christ appeared to more than 500 other believers at the same time. Most of them are still living today, but some have died. Then he appeared to James and later to all the apostles. Last of all, he appeared to me. I was different, like a baby born before the normal time.

All the other apostles are greater than I am. I say this because I persecuted the church of God. That is why I am not even good enough to be called an apostle.

But, because of God’s grace, that is what I am. And his grace that he gave me was not wasted. I worked harder than all the other apostles. (But I was not really the one working. It was God’s grace that was with me.)

So then it is not important if I told you God’s message or if it was the other apostles who told you—we all tell people the same message, and this is what you believed. We tell everyone that Christ was raised from death.

So why do some of you say that people will not be raised from death? If no one will ever be raised from death, then Christ has never been raised. And if Christ has never been raised, then the message we tell is worth nothing.

And your faith is worth nothing. And we will also be guilty of lying about God, because we have told people about him, saying that he raised Christ from death.

And if no one is raised from death, then God never raised Christ from death. If those who have died are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised from death, then your faith is for nothing; you are still guilty of your sins.

And those in Christ who have already died are lost. If our hope in Christ is only for this life here on earth, then people should feel more sorry for us than for anyone else. But Christ really has been raised from death—the first one of all those who will be raised.

Death comes to people because of what one man did. But now there is resurrection from death because of another man. I mean that in Adam all of us die. And in the same way, in Christ all of us will be made alive again. But everyone will be raised to life in the right order. Christ was first to be raised.

Then, when Christ comes again, those who belong to him will be raised to life. Then the end will come. Christ will destroy all rulers, authorities, and powers. Then he will give the kingdom to God the Father.

Christ must rule until God puts all enemies under his control. The last enemy to be destroyed will be death. As the Scriptures say, “God put everything under his control.”

When it says that “everything” is put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself. God is the one putting everything under Christ’s control.

After everything has been put under Christ, then the Son himself will be put under God. God is the one who put everything under Christ.

And Christ will be put under God so that God will be the complete ruler over everything. If no one will ever be raised from death, then what will the people do who are baptized for those who have died? If the dead are never raised, then why are people baptized for them?

And what about us? Why do we put ourselves in danger every hour? I face death every day. That is true, brothers and sisters, just as it is true that I am proud of what you are because of Christ Jesus our Lord.

I fought wild animals in Ephesus. If I did that only for human reasons, then I have gained nothing. If we are not raised from death, “Let us eat and drink, because tomorrow we die.” Don’t be fooled: “Bad friends will ruin good habits.”

Come back to your right way of thinking and stop sinning. Some of you don’t know God.

I say this to shame you. But someone may ask, “How are the dead raised? What kind of body will they have?”

These are stupid questions. When you plant something, it must die in the ground before it can live and grow.

And when you plant something, what you plant does not have the same “body” that it will have later. What you plant is only a seed, maybe wheat or something else. But God gives it the body that he has planned for it, and he gives each kind of seed its own body.

All things made of flesh are not the same: People have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds have another, and fish have yet another kind.

Also there are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies. But the beauty of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the beauty of the earthly bodies is another. The sun has one kind of beauty, the moon has another kind, and the stars have another.

And each star is different in its beauty. It will be the same when those who have died are raised to life. The body that is “planted” in the grave will ruin and decay, but it will be raised to a life that cannot be destroyed. When the body is “planted,” it is without honor.

But when it is raised, it will be great and glorious. When the body is “planted,” it is weak.

But when it is raised, it will be full of power. The body that is “planted” is a physical body. When it is raised, it will be a spiritual body. There is a physical body. So there is also a spiritual body.

As the Scriptures say, “The first man, Adam, became a living person.” But the last Adam is a life-giving spirit. The spiritual man did not come first. It was the physical man that came first; then came the spiritual. The first man came from the dust of the earth. The second man came from heaven. All people belong to the earth.

They are like that first man of earth. But those who belong to heaven are like that man of heaven. We were made like that man of earth, so we will also be made like that man of heaven. I tell you this, brothers and sisters: Our bodies of flesh and blood cannot have a part in God’s kingdom.

Something that will ruin cannot have a part in something that never ruins. But listen, I tell you this secret: We will not all die, but we will all be changed. It will only take the time of a second. We will be changed as quickly as an eye blinks. This will happen when the last trumpet blows. The trumpet will blow and those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we will all be changed. This body that ruins must clothe itself with something that will never ruin. And this body that dies must clothe itself with something that will never die. So this body that ruins will clothe itself with that which never ruins. And this body that dies will clothe itself with that which never dies.

When this happens, the Scriptures will be made true: “Death is swallowed in victory.” Isaiah 25:8 “O death, where is your victory? Where is your power to hurt?” Hosea 13:14 Death’s power to hurt is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But we thank God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! So, my dear brothers and sisters, stand strong.

Don’t let anything change you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord. You know that your work in the Lord is never wasted.“
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭1‬-‭58‬ ‭ERV‬‬

My thoughts on this is godly devotion to Yahavah and fellowship with his Son, leads a life filled with faith, and pain (of being able to go forward - due to the hardships of this life.) Following them leads to a life that is filled with love. And the measure of a person and their faith, and building up spiritual treasures in heaven, the rewards that we receive are spiritual, it could be peace, joy, (blessed are those that are poor; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.) At the end, on judgment day at death, our works are tested and whatever is not lost is retained, in which Yahavah will choose to give us a spiritual body specially made for individuals which they are rewarded with. There is even a resurrection spiritual body than the normal, which Paul sought for, in seeking to know Jesus and partake in his sufferings (denying the self.)

All of us will receive a spiritual body, and they all differ in their glories, according to God as he chooses, to decide.

What are the eternal rewards?

Seeing behind the veil requires a knowledge of Jesus without which even if it was shown you, you would understand or agree with. Therewith are the scriptures sealed.....or opened.

'I never knew you' I wonder what he was referring to by the word 'knew' coupled with the preceding word 'never'?

One of the eternal awards would be peace of mind, I believe.

We believers will find out. I have a hunch that it will have something to do with the new universe in which we will live (Revelation 21:1).

I think scripture talks about 8 different crowns. But what good is a crown? It's better than not having a crown to cast down at Jesus's feet. I've heard a lot of testimonies where people say they wer taken to their treasure room and stuff like that....but, what good is treasure in heaven? SOme shiny stuff that you keep in the other room?

That's not our reward in Heaven. Our reward is being able to dwell in the presence of God, that's all. Nothing else is needed! There wont be money in heaven. If a shop has something you need or a knick knack for your mantle at home or something, no money is needed, speak nice to the lady and she will give it to you with her blessing! Then she will be blessed again by the Lord! That's how it works. Love them until they give you everything you need and what you want also. We cant outgive God and that will still be true in Heaven. There has to be commerce of goods. Some will be farmers and take care of themselves, others will have adminstrative positions in the cith so might not have the space to grow? But no taxes or house payment, that's a plus!

Anything we have even there is His. We work for Him. He is the owner, we are the employees.

Scripture:

Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man what God has prepared for those who love him.

To the one who conquers I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.’

Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.

To the one who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, with a new name written on the stone that no one knows except the one who receives it.

The one who conquers and who keeps my works until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations, 27 and he will rule[c] them with a rod of iron, as when earthen pots are broken in pieces, even as I myself have received authority from my Father. 28 And I will give him the morning star.

The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels

The one who conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God. Never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name.

The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.

Visions:

Jesus and I passed towns, buildings and little offices. The buildings were for whatever "business" or interaction that takes place in Heaven. I saw people coming and going, and they were all smiling. Some sang songs I recognized from earth, while others sang heavenly songs I had never heard. Many carried little bundles, and some carried books. While I don't believe there is an exchange of money in Heaven, people were going in and out of those buildings to get things. I saw a woman walk into one place with a bundle of some type of goods and later walk out with a book. (Lairdon, We Saw Heaven, P.30)

We soon reached [the home], and I was truly charmed with it in every way. It was fashioned much like my brother Nell's home, and built of polished woods. It was only partly finished, and was most artistically done. Although uncompleted, I was struck with the fact that everything was perfect so far as finished. There was no debris anywhere; no chips, no shavings, no dust. The wood seemed to have been perfectly prepared elsewhere - where, I have no idea. The pieces were made to fit accurately, like the parts of a great puzzle. It required much skill and artistic taste to properly adjust each in its place... [and] the house was slowly growing into beauty and symmetry. (Springer, My Dream Of Heaven, P.42-43)

Of all the buildings I saw in Heaven, none of them had locks on any doors, and the doors were not closed. Whether they were mansions, smaller homes, or apartment buildings (yes, some people liked living in condominiums in Heaven), all were open. But out of respect, I don't believe anyone enters anyone else's home when the resident is not there. In Heaven, it seems the architecture includes large pillars. Every home had large porches with pillars and huge archways. Some of the houses were made out of what appeared to be a type of brick or stone material. Others were made out of a type of wood. Yet as I looked, there were no nails or even pegs. Not a piece was sawn, but everything was crafted and fit perfectly together. I saw a veranda on one home that looked like it was made of onyx. You could see through it; it was as clear as glass. Inlaid in the porch were precious stones and gold and silver, and there were great diamonds... I saw a home made of clear stone, embedded with roses that were alive and growing, and gave off the most beautiful aroma. When I put my ear up to anything solid in Heaven, I heard it humming the most beautiful songs. Some of the songs were ones we sing on earth, but others were not. Everything gave praise and glory to the Lord. (Sigmund, My Time In Heaven, P.38-40

What are the eternal rewards?

All that encompasses the Big Picture of God and His goodness…

Peace, Love, Joy, Seeing God as he is, Seeing Gods Glory, Unfathomable beauty, Perfected Life, Knowledge, Surrounded by others of the same likeness, etc. etc.

Pretty inclusive of EVERYTHING on this earth, you do NOT like, you DREAD, you FEAR, you STRUGGLE with, the DISCOURSE, the WONDERING, the SORROW, the SICKNESSES, the ARGUING, the CLEANING, the WAITING, the PAYING BILLS, the TAXES, etc. etc….
WILL NOT EXIST…when Mortal manKIND no longer Exists
AND ….
AS it is IN Heaven, so shall it be ON earth….

AND those.. CROWNS ?

I would say….men with do with whatever “crowns” they receive….LIKEWISE as the Elders ……

Rev 4:
[10] The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
[11] Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

WHAT THRONE ?
King David’s Everlasting Throne IN Jerusalem, Being Occupied by KING JESUS.

But is it a literal or figurative crown symbolizing the authority we will have over the new heaven and earth? We'll find out.

I think it's both brother. A literal crown which represents something beyond the literal crown.

Kick-arse is mens MO.....they want power to humiliate the other and elevate the self.
God's Kingdom operates on the opposite principle. Humbling of the self rather than humiliating the other.
The need or desire to humiliate is grounded in low self esteem. It does not understand the high privilege and honour gifted to us fumbling bumbling sinners.
