Women visit tomb ("when it was yet dark"), discover that Jesus has already risen from the dead, Jesus meets Mary, and other women, Jesus meets two disciples on way to Emmaus meets with all disciples that evening.

Matthew 28:1-10

1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

If there had been a great earthquake as the translators have suggested with their faulty translation of the Greek word, "seismos," then the earthquake would have been recorded. If however, this Greek word had been translated as "turmoil," then the fourth verse begins to make more sense.

How can an Angel coming down from heaven through the air cause an earthquake? That is impossible. However, for the guard at the tomb, there was great turmoil among them when they saw the Angel appear and roll the stone away from the mouth of the tomb.

This is also borne out in Matthew 27:54 which simply states: -

54 So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the "turmoil" and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!”

The verses before tell us why their was great turmoil in the city of Jerusalem: -

Matt 27:50-53: - 50 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.

51Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, 52 and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; 53 and coming out of the graves after "their" resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.

How can an Angel coming down from heaven through the air cause an earthquake? That is impossible. However, for the guard at the tomb, there was great turmoil among them when they saw the Angel appear and roll the stone away from the mouth of the tomb.

This is also borne out in Matthew 27:54 which simply states: -

When Jesus died there was an earthquake, so that the graves opened, and so that the devil was cast down out of the heaven. Now that Christ ROSE from the dead, the seal of the door-stone was broken and cast away uphill from the grave, and while HE CAME UP OUT OF THE EARTH there was a great, earthquake.
<Turmoil>? What? "O that I may know Him and the POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION" "which God by the exceeding greatness of His Power Wrought When He RAISED Christ from the dead", God, who is the "God of order" and not of <turmoil>!

I am sure this view of yours, only helps misunderstand what happened <during the time of the crucifixion>, because Matthew, in so many words, when Jesus DIED, says in 1,52,53, "And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit---"
"THEN there-and-then/immediately: Behold/Look there/See,
1. the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and
2. the earth quaked and the rocks were split and
3. the graves were opened. Period
Parenthesis:
[[And many bodies of saints who had fallen asleep were raised and came out of their graves and went into the holy city and appeared to many after the Resurrection (of Jesus).]]

You may trust that this, was what had happened at the time of the Crucifixion first, and then what happened at the time of the Resurrection "on the third day He said: I rise", next.

Gerhard, I think that you have not followed my train of thought at all. This is how I believe Matt 27:50-54 should be understood.

Wherever the Greek word “Seismos”, G:4578 or its variations, it is best understood to have the meaning of “Turmoil.”

Now in Matthew 28:1-4 the same argument can be made that there was great turmoil among the guard at the tomb because of the angel descending down from heaven to the earth. We also know that you cannot have an earthquake in the air as the angel descended. Below is how I would paraphrase verses 1-4 to show the context of this passage.

Matthew 28:1-4: - 1Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. 2And behold, there was great turmoil {among the guard at the tomb}; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. 3His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. 4And the guards shook for fear of him and became like dead men.

Visits at the tomb “on the First Day of the week”
1) “Mary sees the stone removed”, “while being early darkness still”, dusk. Then Peter and John go to the tomb to see what Mary has told them.
2) John 20:1-10 “Earliest morning-darkness”, just after midnight, “the two women” (variant – the two Marys), “and certain others with them”, for the first time, “came to the sepulchre, bringing the spices they had prepared”. (Lk24:1) “They returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.” (“Then Peter stood up and ran to the tomb; and bending low over, he saw the linen clothes. He went back, wandering by himself about that what had happened.” (Lk24:9-12) Cf. John's account in 20:1-10. Luke talks of another visit by Peter, because for one thing, he doesn't mention John.)
3) These women to make sure, a second time came to the tomb “very early before sunrise”. You realize that you inserted < {among the guard at the tomb}>. There is nothing in the Text or Context of course! In fact, there is nothing in Text or Context of the ‘guard at the tomb’ AT THE TIME OF THE CRUCIFIXION. The guard was only placed “on the day which is after the Preparation”, which was “the third day He said I rise” on, and the Jews in their heart knew He would. So in their frenzy they asked Pilate to take every possible measure to prevent Jesus escape out of his grave. His grave was the Jews only hope to get rid of Jesus after they had killed Him but perfectly well knew that He was The Anointed of God AND WOULD RISE AGAIN. So Pilate gave order that the grave be guarded and sealed, which the Jews supervised in person and gave Pilate also some sense of relief. “Despite, later on – in the end of – the Sabbath, unexpectantly, THERE WAS A GREAT EARTHQUAKE… and the guard struck by the appearance of the angel of the Lord fell unconscious LIKE DEAD.” — NO <turmoil among the guard>, as simple as that!

I strongly recommend not to depend too much on Strongs; it is not God’s Word like the Gospel of Matthew, on the contrary, is.

I have no problems with your rejection of what I have posted. However, from my reading I have reached the conclusion that "Seismos" should have been translated as "turmoil" in every case where G:4578 is found in the New Testament.
