Ok, let's take a different tack then, approach it from a different angle, and put things to a test. 1 Peter 2:17 says this, "Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king." and 1 Timothy 2:1-2 says, "I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority." Both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are now in authority over their respective parties, and one is about to become the next President of the United States.

Give me an example of how you each would honor them - not just one but both - at the current time. What specific words would you use in obedience to the scriptural commands to honor them and/ or give thanks for them?
The scripture says to honor all people. I do not believe all people, especially those in leadership, are people (fully human). And as far as honoring all people. The Greek word translated "honor" means "value." So we place value on them as people. The best way to do that is to pray for them.

Satin, Is/was a high ranking Angel, are we to show him respect and not criticize him?
9 But when the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, was disputing about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you.”

I sense you want to push people to Honor leaders for everything they do, which is not right.

Honor leaders in this way, not to esteem them as righteous and good. Doing so comes with a promise.

Christ is your true master, not them. They as 'masters' over you are under orders from God, they can and often do not obey God and are evil servants not of God but their own selves and Satan. They will be judged for the abuse of their power given them by God.

For example, if they conflict with righteousness, and force you to do unrighteous things, then obeying them is not to be done.
We are to honor them as service to Christ until such time they force you to do what is evil to God and Christ and or are hazardous to godly living.

Ephesians 6

1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

2 “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise:

3 “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”

4 And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.

Did John the Baptist Honor Herod the king... what John said cost him his head, being beheaded. But John did the right thing did he not? Do you think differently?
John did not live long on the earth, but John served God and not the king as the king was doing what is not lawful, Herod the king broke God's laws.

Would you Honor Kim Jung Un as a god in North Korea??

If you live there and do not, you may have a short life on the earth.

With the help of Christian missionaries, the woman fled to Mongolia then to South Korea, before Park moved to the US in 2014.

Now working as a human rights campaigner, the 26-year-old explained that North Korea is not like other dictatorships like Iran or Cuba.

“In those countries, you have some kind of understanding that they are abnormal, they are isolated and the people are not safe," she told the New York Post.

Did those Christian missionaries HONOR Kim Jung Un? No they did not. They did not return her to North Korea to be tortured and killed which is what Kim Jung Un does to people who run from the country. He also abuses them every hour every day.

Did John lose his eternal life by not honoring King Herod?
Was God mad at John for what John said to Herod?

No, obviously not mad at all. John did what was the righteous thing to do.
You do realize what he said and how angry Herod got about that.

Even John being God's prophet, did not deter evil King Herod from doing bad things to John.
Same today with evil world rulers, being a Christian actually makes you a target of their wrath, especially if you don't agree with what they say and tell them so.

Tyrants who are not benevolent don't get honor from me.
Did theses apostles honor their leaders?
They disobeyed their commands.

Acts 4

The Name of Jesus Forbidden

13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. 14 And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. 15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, 16 saying, “What shall we do to these men? For, indeed, that a [a]notable miracle has been done through them is evident[b] to all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it. 17 But so that it spreads no further among the people, let us severely threaten them, that from now on they speak to no man in this name.”

18 So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. 20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.” 21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way of punishing them, because of the people, since they all glorified God for what had been done. 22 For the man was over forty years old on whom this miracle of healing had been performed.

Another commentary on rulers who rule.
Do not pronounce curses on them.
Have you cursed some politician?
Why should I curse what God already did.

Exodus 22:28 reads very plainly: “You shall not revile God, nor curse a ruler of your people.”

Ecclesiastes 10:20, which says: “Do not curse the king, even in your thought; do not curse the rich, even in your bedroom; for a bird of the air may carry your voice, and a bird in flight may tell the matter.”

Matthew 25:41
“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:

When we curse others, this is a work of the flesh, let God curse them. We do not curse, we are to do good to all men, as we are able.

Romans 12
17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have[a] regard for good things in the sight of all men.
18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.
19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.

One thing I don't like about the article I referenced; is the idea God is the Father of all men.
This is not true.
Only those born of God are called the children of God, and children of God have Him as their Father, because he brought about their new birth. You must be born again, as in born of God to have God as your father and only they have the right to be called children of God.

John 1
10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His [c]own, and His [d]own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the [e]right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 4:24
God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Those who worship God in spirit as those who are new creations in Christ, spiritually alive are they to God.

If God is your spiritual father and you His child, well then God saves His family and does not punish them in hell.

Isaiah 13:11
“I will punish the world for its evil, And the wicked for their iniquity; I will halt the arrogance of the proud, And will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

Matthew 25
45 Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.

Should Christians Be Slandering Politicians?

Slander is saying a known lie….

People have opinions based on knowledge they trust or give plausible weight to a possibility per circumstances…
And then how it is spoken…” I think “…implies an opinion or possibility…
They ‘are’ implies general or revealed knowledge as an evidence.

Should Citizens of a representative Republic Nation critique, be critical, challenge, astute, call out….their sitting servants?
Absolutely.

And when they do not ACTUALLY answer the question …. They become rightly suspect of trying to hide evidence against them.

Glory to God,

Should Christians Be Slandering Politicians?

There are two scriptures that come to mind about bearing false witness and back biting conduct from God's people:

Exodus 20:16 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor."

Psalm 15
1 Lord, who may abide in Your tabernacle?
Who may dwell in Your holy hill?

2 He who walks uprightly,
And works righteousness,
And speaks the truth in his heart;
3 He who does not backbite with his tongue,
Nor does evil to his neighbor,
Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend;

The standard English definition of "backbite" is:

1. talk maliciously about someone who is not present.

The idea is that there are two problems that can come up in regard to possibly conduct that God warns about. And that is deceptive statements about people. Bearing false witness in a court of law or regarding legal matters can cause injury and also perhaps death to others and that is why we are commanded to not perform those corrupt statements.

The other is "backbiting" which can also be hate speech or gossip against persons when they are not around. I know in history that sometimes is a conversation piece in some persons that have not moved beyond that behavior. And I know sometimes it is used to defame an individual while attaining an audience and allegiance with those invited in the conversation.

============================================================================

As far as political speech and conduct among politicians, their organizations, affiliates, followers in the two party system of Republican and Democrat, there are two sides to every story. And I encourage a fact finding investigation with the internet or other sources of witness statements and testimonies that is not an assumptuous approach. With that regard, witness statements are best learned from the sources directly and also in courts of law there is the process of believing a witness so long as they are credible. There is also other forms of evidence in fact finding investigation including persons, places and things and related material. While reading news articles from either of the two main party sources which I believe are Fox News and CNN, I always like to skip the news presenter directed commentary due to sometimes suspicion that bias is inserted into the message. I then look in the text article for quoted statements from the news investigation of person reported on. And I like that approach as it seems to work better for myself.

In the Christian direction I think I have learned that we should address problems and if needed accusations in a specific manner. If a problem is presented then prayer to God on matters is good while hoping for the gift of wisdom and knowledge from God that we can also provide a possible solution. Problems without solutions can produce stress sometimes and also negative without the positive can be unpleasant.

If a witness account of a sin or law is broken by a political member then I like to check the actual date it happened, and hope for and/or confession and repentance from that conduct. If I don't see it available in media then nice and pleasant and humble prayer is good to God praying that God deliver them from that conduct. I also like to end in letting go of any judgement against persons I may have encountered while investigating and judging the facts.

Thank You for Listening. Cheers!

When people break the law, they can be arrested, charged, goto court and pay the penalty of that.
Politicians are the same as they are people.

When politicians break God's law, they are the same as anyone else in God's eyes. Unless their lawless deeds He forgives, penalties can be infinitely higher. Over the last few years from their own words and actions they have broken God's laws, and sometimes very egregiously and seriously, and not just anything frivolous. That is what it is, and people on the forum have been exposing that for years here.

We are told to expose works of darkness, not to fellowship with them.
One thing light does is expose the darkness to see what it is and let others see what it is.

Ephesians 5
3 But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; 4 neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. 5 For [a]this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not be partakers with them.

Walk in Light

8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the [b]Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather [c]expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. 13 But all things that are [d]exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. 14 Therefore He says:

“Awake, you who sleep,
Arise from the dead,
And Christ will give you light.”

Our kids and families lives are affected by Politicians. as are our churches and our freedoms to worship God.

If this is threatened, and we can do something about it (like Vote0 then we as believers should not only speak out. but vote. and the church should be leading the charge.

The church may suffer because they do this, But we have biblical support that God is still in control. even through our suffering because we spoke out.

The scripture says to honor all people. I do not believe all people, especially those in leadership, are people (fully human).

It says to honor those who are in governmental authority over us, however, and the reasons for doing so were more than simply for the sake of the one in authority. I will post another thread here in awhile that will show you what I mean.
And as far as honoring all people. The Greek word translated "honor" means "value." So we place value on them as people. The best way to do that is to pray for them.

That's correct. It means value, and that means that we were speak words that valued them in the things we prayed concerning them.

2 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
