Why do you avoid doctrinal discussion?

Is it because such discussions always end in never-ending, bitter, arguments?

It seems difficult to produce good fruit for God while perpetually engaging in such endeavors.

I see it like this.

I think people who are rude,condescending,and all that bad manners stuff when defending the Bible are really only proving they don't know what God is teaching there.

Then there are those cases of people who seem to insist on their understanding when it is totally wrong and then refuse to change when it is proven they're wrong.

I don't think those type people are sincere as actual believers. I think they like to get our goat.

Which is ashame really.

I don’t debate on here as it nearly always ends up with ‘ your wrong, I am right ‘ …..
Also many go round and round on the same subjects , same debates

To be honest I’ve learnt a lot from the discussions, even the arguing has taught me something.... first of , one has to recognise that in oneself ......then ask the Lord to help you communicate in a much more edifying manner,....help me become more like your Son , Father God.....after all he knows our hearts.

I think when we get personal ,it’s very much of the world isn’t it....it’s very much about the self and not Jesus....anyway, just my thoughts.

Easier said than done.

Christians should not quarrel or engage in foolish arguments: 2Timothy 2:22-26 says, Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.

Doctrines without Jesus at their core (the primary determiner) is an exercise in egotism ie, self aggrandisement.
The alarming thing is that many have no idea what is meant by having Jesus at the core.

I used to love debating doctrine of all kinds on here. I'm very firm in my beliefs about salvation and I think many people have added and taken away from Scripture so that it suits their pet theology system.

I try to avoid this now. Christianity is not just about head knowledge. It's about practice. If my theology doesn't make me more humble and loving towards others, it's feeding my flesh and not my spirit. Knowledge puffs up. Love edifies.

Also, the new testament states that women are not to usurp authority over men in teaching doctrine. I felt convicted of this and decided to focus on the areas that God instructs women to be teachers in, namely Titus 2:3-5 principles like how to be good wives, mothers, and keepers at home. This is a highly neglected and controversial ministry in feminist influenced countries like the U.S.

So, no more debating salvation doctrine for me. It's a lot more peaceful and fun to cheer on the men who present sound doctrine on here and support them that way. I've found that in humbling myself and backing off, I notice a lot more Godly men teaching amazing biblically sound doctrine way better than I ever did. I'm happy.

Besides, I present female online and it never seemed to matter how much Scripture I presented to a male audience when it came to salvation issues. They still saw me as the one needing guidance and instruction. Instead of resenting this, I just acknowledge that men on here do not see me as an authority and that is, in many ways, the right idea, even if their doctrine is wrong. Eve was the one deceived in the garden. Paul takes it back to Genesis. Women are not to be the main gatekeepers of doctrine because we have a nature more susceptible to spiritual deception. But we are definitely to be teachers. We need to teach younger women how to be Godly, modest, virtuous, and great wives and mothers. So some topics, I tend to lean away from. I'm still tempted to argue about salvation doctrine. I see it as a huge issue.
