Of course, if you do not believe you are under righteousness of obeying the law,

There is no verse in a bible that says that "you are under righteousness of obeying the law".

The Thing about the Law, is that it can't give any Righteousness, it can only demand it, and we dont have any.

That is the "curse of the Law".

A.) "Jesus has removed the curse of the Law, for everyone who BELIEVES".. (Born again).

What does that mean?
it means that the LAW, that once had dominion over you, now hasn't any, if you are born again, and not just water baptized and religious.
The Law can never define a CHRISTIAN, as anything, because.. the Christian is : """NOT UNDER THE LAW, but under Grace""".

And if we are careful to obey all this law before the Lord our God, as he has commanded us, that will be our righteousness.” Deut6:25
Who are the recipients in Dt. 6.25? Israel-correct?

Deu 6:1 'And this is the command, the statutes and the judgments which Jehovah your God hath commanded to teach you, to do in the land which ye are passing over thither to possess it,
Deu 6:2 so that thou dost fear Jehovah thy God, to keep all His statutes and His commands, which I am commanding thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all days of thy life, and so that thy days are prolonged.
Deu 6:3 'And thou hast heard, O Israel, and observed to do, that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest multiply exceedingly, as Jehovah, God of thy fathers, hath spoken to thee, in the land flowing with milk and honey.
Deu 6:4 'Hear, O Israel, Jehovah our God is one Jehovah;
Deu 6:5 and thou hast loved Jehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might,
Deu 6:6 and these words which I am commanding thee to-day have been on thine heart,
Deu 6:7 and thou hast repeated them to thy sons, and spoken of them in thy sitting in thine house, and in thy walking in the way, and in thy lying down, and in thy rising up,
Deu 6:8 and hast bound them for a sign upon thy hand, and they have been for frontlets between thine eyes,
Deu 6:9 and thou hast written them on door-posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
Deu 6:10 'And it hath been, when Jehovah thy God doth bring thee in unto the land which He hath sworn to thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give to thee—cities great and good, which thou hast not built,
Deu 6:11 and houses full of all good things which thou hast not filled, and wells digged which thou hast not digged, vineyards and olive-yards which thou hast not planted, and thou hast eaten, and been satisfied;
Deu 6:12 'Take heed to thyself lest thou forget Jehovah who hath brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of a house of servants;
Deu 6:13 Jehovah thy God thou dost fear, and Him thou dost serve, and by His name thou dost swear;
Deu 6:14 ye do not go after other gods, of the gods of the peoples who are round about you;
Deu 6:15 for a zealous God is Jehovah thy God in thy midst—lest the anger of Jehovah thy God burn against thee, and He hath destroyed thee from off the face of the ground.
Deu 6:16 'Ye do not try Jehovah your God as ye tried in Massah;
Deu 6:17 ye do diligently keep the commands of Jehovah your God, and His testimonies, and His statutes which He hath commanded thee,
Deu 6:18 and thou hast done that which is right and good in the eyes of Jehovah, so that it is well with thee, and thou hast gone in and possessed the good land which Jehovah hath sworn to thy fathers,
Deu 6:19 to drive away all thine enemies from thy presence, as Jehovah hath spoken.
Deu 6:20 'When thy son asketh thee hereafter, saying, What are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which Jehovah our God hath commanded you?
Deu 6:21 then thou hast said to thy son, Servants we have been to Pharaoh in Egypt, and Jehovah bringeth us out of Egypt by a high hand;
Deu 6:22 and Jehovah giveth signs and wonders, great and sad, on Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on all his house, before our eyes;
Deu 6:23 and us He hath brought out thence, in order to bring us in, to give to us the land which He had sworn to our fathers.
Deu 6:24 And Jehovah commandeth us to do all these statutes, to fear Jehovah our God, for good to ourselves all the days, to keep us alive, as at this day;
Deu 6:25 and righteousness it is for us, when we observe to do all this command before Jehovah our God, as He hath commanded us.

The penalty of sin brings great fear of sin, and fear of sin, strange as it might seem, brings much allurement to sin. Hence Rom6:14

Absolutely, christians are not under righteousness of obeying the law:
Christ is the end of the law UNTO RIGHTEOUSNESS for everyone who believeth Rom10:4
Verse: Romans 10:4
Lexham Translation:
"For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes."

Greek Text:
Romans 10:4 (NA28):
"ὁ γὰρ Χριστὸς τὸ τέλος τοῦ νόμου εἰς δικαιοσύνην πᾶντι τῷ πιστεύοντι."

Transliteration:
Ho gar Christos to telos tou nomou eis dikaiosynēn pantī tō pisteuonti.

Syntactical Breakdown:
ὁ γὰρ Χριστὸς (ho gar Christos):

ὁ (ho) – definite article, "the"
γὰρ (gar) – conjunction, "for" (indicating a reason or explanation)
Χριστὸς (Christos) – noun, "Christ"
τὸ τέλος (to telos):

τὸ (to) – definite article, "the"
τέλος (telos) – noun, "end" or "goal"
τοῦ νόμου (tou nomou):

τοῦ (tou) – genitive definite article, "of the"
νόμου (nomou) – noun, genitive case, "law"
εἰς δικαιοσύνην (eis dikaiosynēn):

εἰς (eis) – preposition, "for" or "to" (indicating purpose)
δικαιοσύνην (dikaiosynēn) – noun, accusative case, "righteousness"
πᾶντι τῷ πιστεύοντι (panti tō pisteuonti):

πᾶντι (panti) – adjective, dative singular, "to everyone" or "to all"
τῷ (tō) – dative definite article, "the"
πιστεύοντι (pisteuonti) – participle, dative singular, "believing" or "who believes"

In this verse, Paul declares that Christ is the culmination or fulfillment of the law concerning righteousness.

Moral Law vs. Ceremonial Law: The Ten Commandments, as part of the moral law, continue to hold significance for ethical living among believers. While Christians are not under the law in the sense of being condemned by it (Romans 8:1), the moral principles embodied in the Ten Commandments still reflect God’s character and His expectations for how we should live.
Rom 8:1 There is, then, now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit;
Rom 8:2 for the law of the Spirit of the life in Christ Jesus did set me free from the law of the sin and of the death;
Rom 8:3 for what the law was not able to do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, His own Son having sent in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, did condemn the sin in the flesh,
Rom 8:4 that the righteousness of the law may be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
Rom 8:5 For those who are according to the flesh, the things of the flesh do mind; and those according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit;
Rom 8:6 for the mind of the flesh is death, and the mind of the Spirit—life and peace;
Rom 8:7 because the mind of the flesh is enmity to God, for to the law of God it doth not subject itself,
Rom 8:8 for neither is it able; and those who are in the flesh are not able to please God.
Rom 8:9 And ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God doth dwell in you; and if any one hath not the Spirit of Christ—this one is not His;
Rom 8:10 and if Christ is in you, the body, indeed, is dead because of sin, and the Spirit is life because of righteousness,
Rom 8:11 and if the Spirit of Him who did raise up Jesus out of the dead doth dwell in you, He who did raise up the Christ out of the dead shall quicken also your dying bodies, through His Spirit dwelling in you.

See how Paul uses the nomos/entole @uncle silas
The Law of Christ:

Reference: Galatians 6:2: "Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."

The Law of the Spirit:
Reference: Romans 8:2: "For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death."

The Law of Faith:
Reference: Romans 3:27: "Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith."

The Law of Righteousness:
Reference: Romans 9:31: "But that Israel who pursued a law of righteousness did not succeed in reaching that law."

The Law of Sin and Death:
Reference: Romans 8:2: "For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death."

The Law of Liberty:
Reference: James 1:25 (not directly from Paul but aligns with his teachings): "But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing."

The Law of God:
Reference: Romans 7:22: "For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being."

Guidance for Living: Many Christians view the Ten Commandments as providing ethical guidance rather than a legalistic checklist for salvation. They show the importance of love for God and neighbor, aligning with Jesus' teachings (Matthew 22:37-40).

3. Faith and Obedience:
Faith as the Foundation: While righteousness comes through faith in Christ, this faith naturally results in a transformed life that seeks to obey God’s commandments. As expressed in Romans 6:1-2, grace does not give license to sin but empowers believers to live in accordance with God’s will.

John 14:15 (Lexham Translation): "If you love me, you will keep my commandments." This highlights the relationship between love for Christ and the desire to obey His teachings.

The emphasis is on faith in Christ as the means to attain righteousness rather than through the works of the law. This is reinforced by the phrase "for everyone who believes", indicating that righteousness is accessible to all who have faith in Jesus Christ, in line with the New Covenant teachings.

Thus, the assertion that "Christ is the end of the law unto righteousness" encapsulates the shift from a law-based righteousness to one grounded in faith, aligning with Paul's broader theological argument throughout his letters regarding grace and salvation.

Just want to make sure we are on the same dereck/path.

Rom 3:21&22 echoes Rom10:4

But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

Righteousness Apart from the Law:

"Righteousness of God apart from the law" indicates that God’s righteousness is accessible not through adherence to the law (including the Ten Commandments) but through faith in Jesus Christ. This highlights the shift from a law-based righteousness to one based on faith.
Witness of the Law and the Prophets:

The phrase "being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets" suggests that both the moral law (which includes the Ten Commandments) and the prophetic writings testify to the need for righteousness and point to Jesus Christ as the fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan.

The Ten Commandments serve to reveal God's standard of righteousness and humanity's inability to meet that standard perfectly, thus highlighting the need for salvation through faith.

"Even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe" emphasizes that righteousness is granted through faith, available to all believers, regardless of their adherence to the law. This shows the inclusivity of the Gospel and the availability of salvation through Christ alone.

I agree, however, under the OC righteousness of obeying the law was ''officially'' in place. Hence Deut6:25, Rom10:4, Rom3:21&22 Under the NC it is not

Let's see-

Righteousness Under the Old Covenant:
Under the Old Covenant, righteousness was closely associated with obedience to the law, including the moral imperatives found in the Torah. This is encapsulated in Deuteronomy 6:25, which states:

"And it will be righteousness for us if we are careful to do all this commandment before the LORD our God, as he has commanded us."
This verse indicates that adherence to God's commandments was the means by which the Israelites would be deemed righteous in God's sight.

2. Transition in the New Covenant:
Romans 10:4 states:
"For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes." VERY clear!
This indicates a shift where Christ fulfills the law's requirements, providing a new means of attaining righteousness through faith rather than merely through obedience to the law.

3. Righteousness Apart from the Law:

Romans 3:21-22 further emphasizes this transition:
"But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe."
This highlights that righteousness is now available through faith in Christ, independent of the law, although the law and prophets bear witness to this new reality.

Your assertion that "under the OC, righteousness of obeying the law was 'officially' in place" aligns with the biblical texts.

Righteousness was indeed established through law observance in the Old Covenant. However, with the coming of Christ, as indicated in Romans, a new paradigm emerges where righteousness is accessible through faith, fulfilling the intent of the law while transforming the relationship between God and humanity. This reflects the continuity and discontinuity in the biblical narrative concerning God's plan for righteousness.

I find that trying to explain the Law and how The Law is different from works of faith, could be quite difficult depending on who we're speaking to.
I think the difference is "walking in faith" comes from a relationship with God, living "as unto the Lord" (Ro 14:5), thus you lead people to the Lord not to yourself.

You teach catechism without being catholic lol
What's wrong with it?
If the priest believes it's OK because of my belief system...
I'd say it's OK.

In fact, I know Catholic doctrine...
80% of Catholics don't (or at least a very high percentage).

I don't think we ever lead persons to ourself...I'm not even sure what that means.

But yes, walking in faith and having a relationship with God is what is needed.
Even in the OT persons were saved by their faith.
Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness...
Genesis 15

A person could have kept all of the 613 Laws but if he did not believe, the keeping of the laws was useless and, really, not even possible.

Not saying it's "wrong", it just struck me as odd bc I didn't know Catholic priests would do that

If you have ever boasted to solicit praise, that would be an instance of leading people to yourself instead of to God.

People lead others to themselves as to an idol, so they will bow down to the idol (self), "come let us follow gods our fathers never knew"--as Jesus says of the false Jews, that their punishment will be that they will be made to come and bow down before the real godly (bc they always want people to bow before them, so that will be their punishment).
