Although homemakers may not have full time careers, we can do so many things that improve the finances!

---Living graciously within our husband's income

---embracing frugality, resourcefulness, patience, being a producer and not just a consumer
---Small business, homesteads, side jobs
---Serving at home so that your husband can have more energy to do well in his career

It pains me to bring up her name but there's a song by Beyonce called Upgrade. There are some key lyrics in there that stuck with me.

"I can do for you, what Martin did for the people
Ran by the men, but the women keep the tempo
It's very seldom, that you're blessed to find your equal
Still played my part and let you take the lead role, believe me
I'll follow, this could be easy
I'll be the help, whenever you need me (you need me)
I see your hustle with my hustle, I can keep you
Focused on your focus, I can feed you
You need a real woman in your life (that's a good look)
Taking care, home and still fly (that's a good look)
I can help you build up your account (that's a good look)"

There is nothing wrong with living in a place you can afford. Here is the place we lived in just shy of two years.

Many of my American peers will see this as poverty. Although brothers and sisters from other parts of the world will know many wish they had a place like this.

Either way, this place taught me patience, gratitude, and to take care of what I have as if it were highly expensive anyway.

Now I have a home that is the stuff of dreams compared to this place. It has so much more impact after living more modestly. God is good.

Sometimes there are spiritual treasures that can only be gotten through times of uncertainty, discomfort, and depending on God to get you through. Always trust Him. Even if you and your spouse end up living with parents---trust Him. He is good. He'll get you through.

Our homes are not just places to envy. They are centers of ministry to bless others with.

I finished setting up the new kitchen yesterday.

I dedicate this back to you, Lord. Let your name be praised forever!

Absolutely Lovely inspiring quotes!

Yes…to be thankful for what we do have, caring for it as we would a million dollar home…AND YES, accrediting the female touch of ability to Organize 10 gallons of stuff in a 5 gallon space!

I have lived in everything from a tiny unfinished shack, an rv (mobile tin can the size of a closet), very large homes, all filled with good and funny memories. and now on acreage (making more memories) with a small comfortable home, animals and out buildings, of which there is never a shortage of tending, fixing, building, maintaining to do and plenty of time to think, thank the Lord, praise the Lord, glorify Him for His Word, His Many blessings and His Many Gifts for us to care for.

God bless you and yours.

Glory to God,

That is so awesome! I love hearing about your life and how you raised your children.

From toddler age through the teens…forward…
I had 5 simple rules…that even toddlers can begin learning, reciting and understanding…

Every day…requirements…
Eat,
Sleep,
Work,
Play,
Pray.

And daily “quizzing”….
Did you eat? What, why? Etc.
Did you sleep…
Did you work? What, “praise”…(penny, nickel, etc. to put in their banks…especially if their “work” benefited everyone in household.)
(And their bank money would be primarily for gifts they would buy for other…b’day, Christmas…)
Did you pray…let’s do that again together…

Toddlers…would keep the pile of shoes from going in and out…straightened….had little brooms, for them to sweep porch, straighten kids books in book case, find all “little people toys” and put them in a bucket…..simple stuff, they learned when and how to do without being told to do it….but was part of their report on their work accomplished for that day…

As kids got older…they learned to manage helping each other, or trading chores….making “cleaning Up” as part of a game, race, etc.

* Hint….skip One rule any day….you must choose different rule to not follow the next day…They learned quickly, no eat, no sleep, no play….hard, and not to their liking at all!!

* Hint…alway praise their efforts and accomplishments.

* Hint…if they are going to have a pouting, whining fit…best “they” are “mad” at me rather than each other….If it is each other…then you have to be a referee….lol
(Or “time out’ sit them in chairs face to face, at a distance they can not touch, just quietly looking at each other….doesn’t take long, before they want to play together)
If it was “me”, they were mad at…they ignore me and play nice one with the other…lol

Think about you, and the new experiences in your life, and determination to do what is right, while keeping your sanity of never seemingly having a minute to yourself…Enjoy it…in the big picture, it flies by quickly.

God bless you.

Glory to God,
Taken

Why is it that Home as a ministry is the domain of just women?

I thought that the Home was the responsibility of both the Man and the Woman to minister in.

Both men and women should be home centered. I focus on women because I stopped trying to teach men and because Titus 2:3-5 calls wives to be keepers at home so that the Word of God is not blasphemed.
