I have three study bibles.

Two Thompson Chains, King James, and New Standard American Bible.

One Holman, King James Bible.

I find them informative however there is a biases within the Holman books where some of the information inserted by the writers are from their own specific denomination, certain view points but it does also inform you of the four views of revelation.

Anyway, when it comes to your own daily studies, or every once a week studies (I’m not judging) what do you like to use? Specific research material when it comes to understanding words.

I have never been much good at studying but many years ago I used a very old Cruden's Concordance. So site like Blue Letter Bible and Bible Gateway are a great help these days.

A library of resources that I have accumulated over the years. Some are electronic books and some are regular tree killing books.

Wanted to share a few photos of this, study book, Holman.

I do like it, it’s helpful in setting things up a certain way for you.

Like circumstances of writing.

And an outline, and there is also, cross references within the margins, along with commentary you can consider below the text to explain things.

When it comes to written dates they are always debated.

What’s funny about this, I never ordered the book specifically ever. They accidentally sent it to me. I decided to keep it, and got a slight return I believe due to the error. Perhaps it was a blessing to have received. And to share now with you, the viewer, the commenter.

Thank you for sharing.

Coincidence or God working with you? (E.g., Esther 6)

My own prayers for help are often answered by a resource appearing for no apparent reason. Perhaps you have had similar experiences. (Ruth 2.)

And then there is a phenomenon rationalists call the “aha factor“: someone will be wrestling with a problem, put it aside unsolved, and then discover a solution or inspiration “bubbling up from the subconscious.” In this case, I believe God is at work, sorting through our knowledge and experiences, and connecting the relevant pieces for us, especially if we are doing His work.

Your thoughts?

Blessings.

What kind of Study material do you use?

A Bible (in my case, the NIV)
A good commentary (there are many)

I believe that delving into the root meanings of words is not terribly helpful. A good modern translation is all you need to understand what the text says. It's more useful to read commentaries because these will give you important background information, and where there are different interpretations of a passage they will give you the pros and cons of each one.

Me and the Father have our relationship together. I believe during this time that I had ordered it. I was seeking for more information to be useful in terms of being able to make presentations and continue to teach and be able to have a good resource and information to go through and sift through and try to find diamonds, and answers, and if no answers hopefully move forward and may the holy spirit of Yahvah continue to guide me as I continued to teach the New Testament. I believe that I have it in my heart to continue to do this, I am hoping to get back to this one day again, for the benefit of not myself, but for the benefit of teaching and explaining to others, not exactly what I may believe, but what can be seen, and share also what has been heard through religious churches examples to give to others, a full context surrounding, etc...

I believe Yahavah is a good God, and will give you the desires of your heart as long as they are according to the ways of his will, and not the ways of the world and its will and ways, ie: our Flesh.

Study Bibles can be helpful if we don't let the authors do our thinking for us.

I have 2 hard copy Bibles KJV. I have used computer Bibles since the 1990's and purchased the one I wanted back then, I have purchased a few updates and am on 8.4. They have everything and more I don't use. They even have Bible maps etc. Commentaries galore per verse of the Bible you can look at. It is Swordsearcher I just love this Bible it is well worth the money to me as has much available with just a click. If we loose computers.. it will be back to hard copy as I am in many scriptures daily.
