What promise is that verse talking about? This one:

2 Peter 3:3 Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.”

Who does the Lord want to come to repentance? Literally everyone.

Acts 17:30 In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.

Yep. And He's not being slow about it like the scoffers Peter referenced think. And the reason is that He is very patient and loving and He doesn't want anyone to perish and be condemned to the second death, but instead wants everyone to repent so that they can have eternal life. He's willing to wait as long as it takes, in His determination, to make sure everyone gets the opportunity to repent.

No, I had missed that. I see it now. I agree that repentance is necessary for salvation, but some of what I read seems to be a bit legalistic, which is concerning. You understand the putting yourself under the curse of the law is a bad thing, don't you (Gal 3:10-11)? Looks like you are part of the World Mission Society Church of God? Is that correct? Do you believe in someone who you call "God the Mother"?

The site you linked put a lot of emphasis on obeying the law of Moses which made me think you must be Seventh-day Adventists at first. But, Paul taught that those who rely on following the law of Moses are under a curse because it is written "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” (Deut 27:26). Why does it say that? Because if you break even one of the commandments of the law of Moses, you are guilty of breaking them all (James 2:10). That's an impossible standard to live up to to put yourself under the law of Moses. That's why we're under grace now. As Paul said "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us" and "He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.".

It's about faith. Having your trust in Christ as your Lord and Savior and not about earning your salvation by keeping the law. Yes, we should try as hard as we can to pursue holiness and righteousness but as John wrote "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9).

We don't have to live in fear that if we sin we will immediately be condemned. God is gracious and will forgive us if we confess our sins. Assuming we are not sinning in willful rebellion against God. That's when it becomes a major problem if someone does that because...

Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Christ Redeems Us From The Curse Of The Law, but it also has other scripture references. Are you aware of them
