You're up in Canada so dont even remember how much Trump helped this nation when he was in his first term.

Gas was 2 bucks a gallon.
He stopped us buying foreign oil and fired up our own refineries. And we was totally independant of foreign oil.
He had secure borders.
Food was reasonably priced.
Our economy was strong!
People were doing good.

Maybe you cant remember and maybe you dont care. But I remember. I care.
When Biden took office he shut all our refineries down and gas went up to around 4 bucks a gallon.
The prices of food are through the roof!

It's obvious for all the people who live here. Even those who voted for Biden are supporting Trump now. They remember too.

I wrote recently elsewhere on this forum reminding readers of the warnings God gave Israel as they rejected Him as their Lord and asked for a king.
That said, I do believe there are many sincere Christians who believe that voting for Trump is the best thing for their country, and maybe they are right. Personally, if I were a voter in the US, I'd likely vote for him as the better of 2 poor candidates. And certainly, the leftist attacks on marriage, women, free speech, and Christianity in general would have been powerful motivators. But like you, I see a grave danger in some of the proclamations coming from influential Christian ministers, calling Trump the trumpet of God, a prophetic answer to prayer, and vilifying democrats as demons. I see a bad trend in this relationship between the church and the Republican party that can only lead to eventual ruin for both the church and the country. History is written in the blood of victims of every innocent victim of every union of church and state.

You are looking at secular advantages of having Trump as President. I don't blame you. Those benefits 8 years ago were real and worth repeating hopefully. That's certainly worth anyone's vote. I don't think any sane person can deny that. Including Lisbeth. But she is looking at things spiritually. At the connection between Trump and the evangelical church in America. Comparing Trump with John the Baptist as expressed in another thread... leading ministers declaring Trump as a prophetic figure doing God's work. Israel in the OT rejected God in favour of an earthly king, wanting an earthly kingdom. Israel at the time of Christ rejected Christ in favour of Barabus, again, to secure an earthly kingdom. I sense the modern church in America is in danger of repeating history. Attempting to establish righteousness and an earthly kingdom through legislation and politics. Remember, first comes the natural and then the spiritual. The O.T. was symbolic for us. Saul was natural and David was spiritual. Esau was natural and Jacob was spiritual.
