I think it would be best for each one to ask God what does He mean by worship. As believers who know the bible and know the Lord, is God is going to withhold judgment from a nation and church that hasn't acknowledged its sins and repented? He is the one we are essentially trying to fight against. Except the Lord keep the city the watchmen waken in vain. This isn't about politics, it's very much a spiritual matter.....and the politics is distracting the church from its mission.....our weapons are not supposed to be carnal. I find it comforting to remember that this world is not our home, we are just ambassadors from another kingdom passing through. We are just here to serve the Lord for HIS purposes. DT is not just about the USA, it's about much more than that....Israel/Jerusalem and the temple....and things prophesied about that. And God is sovereign over all this...He is watching over His word to perform it.

It is heartbreaking and tragic seeing how things are going with society now.....I don't like it any more than you do and we are so vexed like Lot, but we need to keep our trust and faith in the Lord no matter how bad things get. Like Lot, God will keep His own who remain faithful to Him. These days were prophesied, foreseen by God, and He has woven everything into HIS plans. Had a dream recently where I was like a mountain climber putting on all this equipment, harness, ropes and pulleys, boots etc, preparing and gearing UP to descend DOWN a mountainside. It seemed like a long and painful time of preparing and waiting and anticipating to begin the descent. Girding up and preparing for things to go downhill in the world, that we not be unprepared for it and lose our trust in God. We have enjoyed relative peace and comfort as Christians in the west for the past while in history, and if we are beginning not to feel at home in this corrupt and depraved world any more, that is a good thing, because the Lord is also in this way getting us ready for the return of our Saviour and to go to our real home. We need in our hearts to let go of this world.

Again, that is an overly spiritualized viewpoint, ignoring the needs we have living in this world. It totally abandons a practical way of living, contrary to the Bible.

We should and do rely (hope and trust) on things and people of this world. The computer and internet that I'm using right now, for starters. The HVAC system in our homes. And people? We all rely on an economy for us to have money provided by someone and goods and services we need to exchange the money for.

The book of Kings details the good and bad kings in history. Obviously, God is concerned about our leaders or such politically oriented books would not be included in the Bible. OTOH, no one here is saying we ought to make politicians an object of worship. OTOH, we make them gods, by definition. Psalm 82:

Seems like we are coming to "choose ye this day who ye will serve" moment in history. A splitting off of sheep from goats. Valley of decision perhaps. And after that there is no coming back from it.....let the unclean and filthy be filthy still and the righteous and holy be holy still. In other words the time for repentance and grace will be up. We are a light to the world in offering the only real and effective solution to the sin problem. The life changing power of the Son of God.
You guys can use government to enact laws and exact penalties for transgression if that's what you want to do. And I have no doubt that there are some genuine Christians among you who firmly believe that such a program is what is needed. I don't. People need Jesus. Only He can truly change hearts and lives. And He needs to change those lives in the church whose doors and being knocked on. Hence why I said earlier, judgement begins in the house of God. Self judgement. Self examination. Sanctification of individual Christians by the power of the holy Spirit, then they can go out into the world and present the same gospel they themselves have received and their lives changed thereby. America doesn't need a "theocracy" led by finite egotistical self-serving fake ministers who themselves need the gospel of Jesus and be saved. What America needs is the humble heartfelt repenting soul searching surrender of the American Christian. "If My people, who are called by My name, should humble themselves and pray, seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then from heaven will I hear, forgive them of their sin, and heal their land". Note. God isn't asking the church to first go out into the world and call people to repentance until they themselves have first consecrated themselves and dedicated themselves to live exemplary lives changed by the power of God and a living witness to His grace.
