The idea of a mockery of the last supper at the Olympics is totally out of place and makes no sense; in fact it's pretty stupid really. But a feast of Dionysus fits, makes perfect sense and what was presented looks a lot more like that than a mock last supper. I'm afraid a lot of people are going off the deep end.

Obviously that was not their intention , if you read my post on what actually Lay behind that part of the ceremony it did have something to do with France and the Olympics. In another thread you accuse another member of not finding out the facts on things that are reported, yet that is exactly what you , the media and other have done here.
Obvious the director should have perhaps thought out how he portrayed what he did, but if his inspiration was taken from the Greek gods and Olympus - then your accusation is wrong.
You're contradicting yourself in your assertions there.

The Olympics ceremony is filled with pagan\occult symbolism for anyone paying attention and has been for some time.

The Occult Symbolism Displayed at the 2012 Olympics Ceremony
Thanks for this post, a nod to incrementalism.

Most people are too busy with their own life to pay attention to the slow erosion of western civilization. Like a warm bath, we enter little by little and it is never shocking to the system - until suddenly it is. Critical mass. Tipping point. These are metaphors to help visualize what is happening.

Once one is fully aware of the decline, the next disturbing hurdle is what to do about it.

What does the feast of Dionysus have to do with drag queens and rainbow colors?

Also, the media is reporting uproar over Olympic mocking Last Supper. Is that reporting in error?

The organizer of this opening spectacle is reaching for something to pull him out of the conflict.

What he doesn't realize is he's now admitting he intended to mock or parody the Greeks history and religious pantheon.

The thing is, all the depictions of Dionysus and his goddesses attending don't resemble what paraded itself in Paris.

The Woke Olympics didn't expect such backlash about the drag queen Last Supper which offended not only Christians but also is getting backlash from non-Christians. Even atheists were offended!

They are scrubbing the videos from the Internet.

The following video has some good commentary. The Woke gay guy who created the blasphemy said he wanted everyone to feel inclusive.... everyone but Christians it seems.

This is not a shock, Demonic spirits are ruling the world. More and more people have fallen away from TRUTH. At one time I would call them mentally ill but that is not the case anymore, these people are demonic and have become lovers of themselves and of sex. The Jezebel spirit is in them. True Believers of Christ Jesus need to stand up and rebuke these demons.

Jesus is going to return and it may or may not be soon so be ready and endure til the end. Not falling to tolerance of the demons which are clothed in leftist, democrats and progressives.

Well, the whole world (except for you and maybe a few others) all think it was a mockery of the Last Supper.
Ephesians 2:2-3 KJV
2) Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3) Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Children of disobedience are manipulated by the power of air, the spirit that now works in them.

So we shouldn't be surprised when they do things against God, even unknowingly.

Much love!

It is a mockery of the Last Supper.
Evil conjured the mockery. Now it doesn't have the courage of its convictions to stand behind its intent when a backlash strikes.

The only excuse "he" could come up with is it's a Dionysus parody?

Thereby insulting the Greeks instead?

No one buys that lie. If they know what the Last Supper looks like in imagery.

Olympic bosses apologise for ‘sleazy’ drag queen Last Supper parody

The biblical scene, which included drag artists and a naked singer, was heavily criticised by politicians and members of the Catholic Church

The organisers of the Paris Olympics have apologised after a drag queen parody of Leonardo Da Vinci’s Last Supper featured in the opening ceremony.
The tableau, which recreated the biblical scene of Christ and his apostles, included drag artists and a naked singer. It was heavily criticised by politicians and members of the Catholic Church.
On Sunday, Anne Deschamps, a Paris 2024 spokesman, said that “clearly there was never an intention to show disrespect to any religious group”. Ms Deschamps said that the opening ceremony “tried to celebrate community tolerance”.
She added: “We believe this ambition was achieved. If people have taken any offence we are really sorry.”
On Saturday, a number of prominent politicians criticised the skit, with Marion Maréchal, a far-Right member of the European Parliament, apologised to “all the Christians of the world who felt insulted”.
Matteo Salvini, Italy’s deputy prime minister, branded it insulting and “sleazy”. “Opening the Olympics by insulting billions of Christians across the world was a really bad start,” he wrote on X.

The Olympic skit parodied the mural by Leonardo
Elon Musk, the Tesla, X and Space X owner, also criticised the parody which he described as being “extremely offensive to Christians”.
Daniel French, vicar of Salcombe and Marlborough, said the skit mocked Christianity and the Last Supper “in a way it never would have for any other religion” and called on the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, to criticise the performance.
The controversial scene featured a group of around a dozen performers striking poses behind a long table. At the centre was a woman wearing a headdress that resembled a crown, while holding her hands out in a heart shape. She was flanked by drag queens, transgender dancers, and other artists who performed alongside her.
At the end of the scene, a serving tray was placed on the stage and a scantily clad man, who was painted blue, emerged from inside.

Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, who heads the Vatican’s Pontifical Academy for Life expressed his disgust in the right-wing daily, Il Giornale, on Sunday.
The archbishop spoke of the importance of the Olympics and sporting values in promoting fraternity and equality before saying: “This high ideal has been besmirched by a blasphemous mockery of one of Christianity’s holiest moments.”
Thomas Jolly, the opening ceremony artistic director, said he was perplexed by the negative reactions to the show. He said: “Our subject was not to be subversive. We never wanted to be subversive. We wanted to talk about diversity. Diversity means being together.
“We wanted to include everybody. In France, we have artistic freedom. We are lucky in France to live in a free country.”
In a statement, The International Olympic Committee said it “welcomed the clarification” given by the Paris organisers.
It added: “The organising committee said there was never any intention to show disrespect towards any religious group or belief.
“They reiterated that their intention was always to celebrate community and tolerance. The organising committee also said that if anyone was offended by certain scenes this was completely unintentional and they were sorry.”
Painted in the late 15th century, The Last Supper is a mural by Leonardo da Vinci. It depicts Jesus with the 12 apostles, showing the moment after he has announced that one of them will betray him.

I’m about sick of believers excusing the evil of the world + having no grace for believers who stumble. What’s up with that?

Wow. You can see all that is happening in the world but you are blind.

This was Demonic! Believers of Christ Jesus need to rebuke these evil works.

You can tolerate it but you will be judged by God.

Look, I think it's demonic too; I just don't think it's a mock last supper. Let me ask you, what do you think all your rebuking is going to get you, except high blood pressure? And if you're that upset about it why don't you do something constructive rather than sitting around a Christian board preaching to the choir? Don't you think God knows how to deal with sinners? When was the last time you showed a little compassion to a LGBTQ+ person? Not lately I would imagine; that would violate your mandate to rebuke everything and save the world. I seriously think social media is making people a little cuckoo.

Yes, because they didn’t bother to talk to the person who put it together. They jumped to conclusions. Also , if you read my post properly, you will see that I agreed that he didn’t think the presentation through. The Thread is about intent - which you and others have jumped in on and weighed up.
On this particular thing you and others are clearly wrong with that judgment.
Is it so difficult to actually admit that, you, and a lot of other people reacted to something without finding out the facts.
in my view. it does not really matter

Using men who think they are women is a mockery of the Olympics.. people are sick of getting this thrust down our throats..

it also is offensive to many. Like real women, any person of religion.

Did you read the quote or automatically view my post as an attack on the conclusion you and others reached. You know if all of us actually did some investigating instead of just believing something, and then if we listened we perhaps would learn something useful ( and I speak for myself as much as anyone else ) perhaps this place would be less negative and more constructive. )

Yes, of course I read the quote.

The gay creator of the blasphemy didn't say anything about Greek gods at first. At first he only defended his freedom to do it.

The halo type headdress is proof they were mocking Jesus.

The drag Queen's own words as follows...they knew what they were portraying.

Sadly, based on my church experience, I believe they are more likely than not practicing soul-less Christians.
Bit of an oxymoron don't you think?
They're outright fakes. Trolls.

Or, they're nominal , name onlies. They say they're Christian yet aren't indwelt.
Putting on the name of one. A bit like putting on a shirt and saying, I'm dressed for work now.

Christian's have a mission from Jesus to proclaim the good news of salvation of the gospel to the unbeliving world to make disciples of all nations. It can be costly to yourself to warn people of their sins and the coming wrath of God which the world will and does experience even in this life. John preached against Herods sexual immorality and it was the right thing to do at that time. Today is still the right time to do the same as he did.
