I would go humbly in whatever I am wearing at the time as I wouldn't want to keep him waiting while I put on my bestest frock.Think some more! Did you really think?? You better ""think"" some more!!I would go humbly in whatever I am wearing at the time as I wouldn't want to keep him waiting while I put on my bestest frock.
Someone pointed out how sports announcers wear suits. Our culture values sports way more than coming to the alter of God.Think some more! If today you were called to the throne room of God in heaven what would you Choose to wear? a tee shirt and blue genes and a baseball cap?? Get smart and real!!!

I did and still no clue as to what you're getting at. It's a bit like a game.TRY again!! Go back and read again.

What do you think Jesus and the disciples looked like and their attire? They likely only had one cloth robe that they slept in _ outside _ on the ground _ and sweat in. Certainly they rinsed off in the rivers and lakes but did not have the cleansers, bleach we have to wash clothes. Sure they replaced them with new clothes as others would donate to them. And they probably smelled like fish! Why do think Jesus washed their feet as a teaching about humility? They were filthy dirty most of the time. Imagine when it rained, how muddy they were, walking through the puddles and mud with their clothes drenched. Now would YOU invite someone who looked like that into YOUR clean home or sit next to YOU in your clean church with your clean suit and pressed shirt? Change your attitude, cause we were all like dirty rags to God regardless of the clothing we wear."Pastors" that lead church service wearing blue jeans, casual shirts and base ball caps.
Change your attitude, cause we were all like dirty rags to God regardless of the clothing we wear.
I beg to differ! All glory to God, yes?Was that important to Jesus, what one wore, the riches one had? No.
I said:You forgot that after getting born again... we no longer in dirty rags.
Unless it's the OSAS people that enjoy living in sin as they went back to their filthy rags and back on the highway to heLL
So do you think Jesus and the disciples carried soap around with them so they could wash and do their laundry in rivers or lakes? They had soap to wash with. Soap was used in Babylon in 2800bc. There is plenty of evidence to verify it. Romans used soap and made scissors to cut hair. Don't forget the wise men brought a king's treasure of gold to Jesus.
And also, women supported Jesus's ministry. Luke 8:2-3. They were not as bad off as we think.
I don't believe we are like dirty rags anymore because if we are born again we are washed clean and are like snow.I said:

Yes, and they brought food with them, and had money to buy food in nearby towns. John 4:8So do you think Jesus and the disciples carried soap around with them so they could wash and do their laundry in rivers or lakes?![]()
If you interpret dressing up in your Sundays best as an example of your glory to God, that is shallow. Glorifying God is more about your love and obedience.Under what set of circumstances do you suppose it is good to give more glory to someone than God? It is a violation of the 1C and 2C to dress up for someone else but not your Creator.
Yes, Solomon had some nice clothes but God dressed the fields with more splendor and beauty.I beg to differ! All glory to God, yes?
Didn't imply this had anything to do with tithing or good will offerings, just about God's value of attire. The scenario you describe is of the poor who have tithed a mite, which was more than the rich folk who gave from the excess not their necessity. That's not what we're talking about at all.
Nope. + If you dress up for someone else, why not God?If you interpret dressing up in your Sundays best as an example of your glory to God, that is shallow. Glorifying God is more about your love and obedience.
I agree.I don't believe we are like dirty rags anymore because if we are born again we are washed clean and are like snow.
