Subtle Deceptions of the Watchtower

Of course, Prof. Eilat Mazar upheld 586 BCE as the date Jerusalem was destroyed, not 607. Why would The Watchtower Society be deceptive over a mere date and act as if she wouldn't disagree with this?
**Because the date of 607 BCE is the date they need to fit their false prophecy of Christ being enthroned in 1914! **

Oh what a tangled web we weave when we first practice to deceive. Most Jws have NO IDEA that 607 is NOT the correct date. It has been proven time and time again to the Tower, but they are sticking with it because it's critically central to their theology.

Of course, Jehovah’s Witnesses are not supposed to do research in publications other than the ones provided to them. Have you ever wondered why? Now you know.
These types of deceptions are common in the Watchtower's many publications. I will add to this thread as time affords me. My goal is to help Jws to see that the "Society" is deceitful. It's a very difficult pill to swallow for them to even consider such a thing. It's up to them to want to be honest with themselves. Please pray for them.

Jws today try to distance themselves from founder, Charles Taze Russell as much as possible, and instead think of Rutherford as their first president who was much worse, actually.
Not suprisingly, they are constantly deceptively changing their history. Now, that many publications are only online this will be more difficult to show, since they have already proven to be altering online!!!!

Notice below the difference in their pagan pyramid measurements for Jesus' return dates- They offered no reason for the change- Poof it was just simply altered from one book's edition to the next edition. No explanation for members. The pyramid grew 41 inches, and not surprisingly so did the false date!

Here is the excerpt from Russell’s Studies in the Scriptures: Thy Kingdom Come, Series III, p. 342. The boldface shows the changes between the measurements reported in the 1897 and 1907 editions of the book:

“Then measuring down the Entrance Passage from that point, to find the distance to the entrance of the ‘Pit,’ representing the great trouble and destruction with which this age is to close, when evil will be overthrown from power, we find it to be 3416 inches, symbolizing 3416 years from the above date, B.C. 1542. This calculation shows A.D. 1874 as marking the beginning of the period of trouble; for 1542 years B.C. plus 1874 years A.D. equals 3416. Deception Number 4--​

Worship Jesus​

Jehovah’s Witnesses must not worship the Lord Jesus. Yet this has only been the case since 1954, as originally Witnesses worshipped both Jehovah and Jesus. Interestingly, the Watchtower Charter stated Jesus was to be worshipped up until it was finally amended in 1999. For 45 years, Witnesses were counselled against worshipping Jesus, even though in the Charter to do so was stated as the express reason for the existence of the Watchtower Society. To deal with this discrepancy, the Watchtower resorted to misquoting the Charter.

The Charter stated:

"for public Christian worship of Almighty God and Christ Jesus; to arrange for”

The Yearbook of 1969 p.50 leaves the words "and Christ Jesus" out, replacing them with dots.

"for public Christian worship of Almighty God … ; to arrange for”

The Watchtower 1971 p.760 replaces the word “and” with “through”, to significantly hide and change the true meaning of the sentence.

"for public Christian worship of Almighty God [through] Christ Jesus; to arrange for" Watchtower 1971 Dec 15 p.760

The 1993 Proclaimers book, which is a history of the Watchtower Society, fails to even mention what is in this important document.

Critical Thinking​

In the article "Winning the Battle for Your Mind," Watchtower 2017 July page 28 includes a quote regarding propaganda:

"Therefore, it is likely to be most effective if people ... are discouraged from thinking critically."

What has been cut out and replaced by ellipses (...)?!!!

"Therefore, it is likely to be most effective if people do not have access to multiple sources of information and if they are discouraged from thinking critically. Michael Balfour has suggested that the "best touchstone for distinguishing propaganda from science is whether a plurality of sources of information and of interpretations is being discouraged or fostered." Watchtower's misuse of ellipses is very important when considered in light of the Watchtower article, which says to trust a single source of information, follow the organisation regardless of how imperfect and dismiss alternative information regardless of how plausible.

"Be determined to stick to Jehovah’s organization and loyally support the leadership he provides—no matter what imperfections may surface. (1 Thess. 5:12, 13) Do not be “quickly shaken from your reason” when faced with what appear to be damaging attacks by apostates or other such deceivers of the mind—however plausible their charges may seem." This is a HUGE ONE.

The average Jw appears neatly dressed at your door inquiring about a bible study. Many people think that Jws know the bible. IT IS NOT TRUE! They memorized cherry picked NT verses only! They love to bait people with trinity and hell discussions. Many people don't understand the trinity, having not studied it deeply, and JWs know this, and twist what the trinity teaches, as well as hell. Don't take their poisonous bait! They have classes on how to bait you!
WHAT THEY DON'T TELL YOU is that they believe that the bible says that when they DIE, that they are paying for their own sins. Jesus' death is IRRELEVANT. They must self-atone for their sins by the act of dying! To them, Jesus died only to pay for Adam's sin- (although Adam is not forgiven). They deny Romans chapter 6 which is CLEARLY speaking of our death to sin and our new life in Christ. That is not debatable. They cherry pick 2 verses and form their own doctrine. That is what Jws do constantly. Be awake- know their tactics!

There is no way around this one. If you know your bible - read Romans chapter 6 to them out loud or ask them to read it aloud! Do NOT take the hellfire bait! Hear this! Do not allow them to divert you IN ANY WAY. They are fully trained to divert! If they see what it actually says- don't be alarmed when they still deny it. It is called, Cognitave Dissonance. These people are under mind control. Yes, it exists and is very real!

While no human should be treated badly , know that false teachers are to be exposed and rebuked. Give them the truth of Jesus and twice ( as Jesus said) If they refuse you- shake the dust from your feet! That is what our Lord taught us. They are masters of deception. Pray for them once they leave. They will never pray with you. To them, Christians are antichrists. Yes, that is what they teach. They are ONLY there to confuse and convert you. Take the LEAD. Essentially, many JW's believe that they are morally able to tell half truths, lie, and manipulate facts so as to convert new members.

No. Some, like the apostles who drank of that cup that evening, are participants in the new covenant.* Jesus made another covenant with them to rule together with him in his Kingdom. Bible Teach book 207-208 Only those in the new covenant – that is, those who have the hope of going to heaven – should partake of the bread and wine. God convicts such ones that thy have been selected to be heavenly kings.

"Jesus is the mediator only for anointed Christians....The 'great crowd'... is not in that new covenant." Watchtower 4/1/1979, page 31.

Only a limited number are born again. The great crowd does not need to be born again. Their life is earthly, not heavenly. Watchtower 4/1/1988, p. 18

"He said: 'Unless anyone is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God!' (John 3:3-5)...The 'other sheep' do not need any such rebirth, for their goal is life everlasting in the restored earthly Paradise as subjects of the Kingdom." Watchtower 2/15/1986, p. 14

Pleased you liked it but I don't know of any others although I supposed there must be similar ones. There is so much hypocrisy involved; breaking up families by the shunning and thinking that is what God/Jehovah wants.

I'm sure many people feel supported in their kingdom halls - I know my cousin did - and like many she got caught up in their system and was unable to get out.

I was once in touch with a woman who sent me a whole lot of pamphlets and stuff about how the JWs twist the truth. I became interested after a young couple who were JWs used to come and visit me. They were a really nice couple - James and Alison - and accepted things I gave them about the true Gospel and my own testimony but sadly they showed the things to an 'elder' who came with James next time. He was very aggressive and my husband sent him away but James, the young man, leaned over and kissed my cheek before they went. I still pray for him.

It is truly sad how these people are bing manipulated. It can only work for someone that does not know the scriptures. No true believer could ever become a jw. Simply impossible. It is the fence sitters, the church goers who dont read their bibles.
The Wt DOES precisely what they accuse others of- that is cherry picking verses to form doctrines of man.
The worst part is how they utterly rob them of Jesus Christ. That is in part due to their blatant LYING about what the NAOS is in Rev., and Romans 6.

Many Jws don't find out fully what is taught until after baptism, and by then now they at at risk of being shunned for questioning.

It was a good representation of several issues ( elders, blood, mind control, shunning ( that is actually harsher in real life than shown here, Jesus only mentioned at end of prayer) The KHalls interior appearance was exact. The loveless funeral was similar although generally arent allowed to be held at KH's.
The attempted kidnap of the baby may seem out there but it is not.

I asked James what he knew of the Holy Spirit and he said that 'it' was just a 'force' so I did a study for him of the work of the Holy Spirit shown throughout the bible and that would have been one of the things he then questioned his elders about.

It was an eye opened to me and the most horrible funeral I ever went to was for my cousins husband. he wasn't a JW as far as I'm aware but it was the JWs who led it and it was completely without hope.

My cousin almost had a panic attack one day when we were shopping together and she followed me into the Christian bookshop. And she thought it was sinful to celebrate birthdays. She was such a kind woman and it was all wasted on the Watchtower Org.
