My wife and I saw this episode in the movie theater and again last night. Powerfully delivered. The actor who plays the Pharisee who hates Jesus did an outstanding job. In his pronouncement, I reflect in this thread.

The Chosen does such a good job of bringing the Scriptures to life on a human level. Masses of people where congregated to get a glimpse of the Nazarene. They hoped to hear him preach and perform a sign.

Their assemblying made the Romans nervous a revolt was brewing.

The Pharisees issued an edict. Anyone who claims Jesus is the Christ is banished. Wow! I cannot imagine a church today holding so much power that they can dare to challenge their flock to leave. Yet, today is it that different? If we evangelize at the malls, places of business, parks and other places people gather, will we be treated:
A. Warmly and crowds asking us to explain more?
B. Told to cease and desist or leave?

What weight do you suppose the threat of banishment held to those 1st century Judeans? Their eagerness to hear Jesus lead to a riot in The Chosen episode. Did anyone else see it?

If you read acts, you see this development. I’m glad those days are over and Yahweh calls to all. Everyone should understand God exist; whether or not they have faith or include him in their life or not is highly subjective for sure.

There is no need for street preaching, or anything like that, every other street has a church on the block, and access to Bible is available outside of it.

Even the emotion and feeling accept of the show chosen and its visual performance; this literally happened in that day. And of course you risked your lively hood if you said you were siding with Yeshua having been risen again, kicked out of the church or congregation thereby, limited access to food, family even, etc…

If one wanted to see these days come again? I imagine many people would renounce Christ to keep their lively hood, I probably would do the same. However to me there is no threat of any of these foretold and then happening in that age, where you were even murdered on sight won’t never be around ever again. It’s a stout opinion, if anything but nothing more. I did not see the episode wrangler I walked out of a chosen screen last year, because it was just too pushing for the man more then the Lord so many people in the room too, and I can’t stand musicals anyway; I went and seen ghostbusters instead.

I walked out of a chosen presentation in a theater last year. I don’t care much about the show, I hardly watch anything that has to do with the Bible days, but this screening was gonna be a musical and stuff and probably just a thirty minute short film if my best guess was right. I just went to the owner of the theater and asked to switch movies.

Yeah, I find the episodes inspiring in spite of not seeing eye to eye with every assumption certain aspects of the film are built on.
They make Jesus human and relatable. I got the dvd's.....very handy.
